- San Francisco Mint Pennies - Roll Hunting California Penny Boxes!
So - I decided to ask some of my California Family Members for a favor - to send me 3 Boxes of San Francisco Bay Area Pennies!
In this video, I will be roll hunting 3 boxes of pennies, hoping to find valuable pennies minted from the San Francisco Mint! I will be looking for old Wheat Pennies, S Mint pennies from the 60's and 70's, and of course any Indian Head Pennies, errors and varieties!
Let's see what goodies I get!
Keep hunting and good luck!
They're still out there for us to find!
By the way - I am still selling my custom Coin Roll Hunting Mats on my website or on eBay (see below):

There is only one dislike on this video. Shame to whoever it is
Btw hopefully you get your bejesus back soon!
You should visit the Northeast Tarrant Coin Club in Bedford, Texas next Thursday!
RobFindsTreasure why pull out 1959 pennies
There is something so satisfying about watching you coin roll hunt.
Lol yeah
Holy cow, a holey Indian Head Cent! Great boxes! The 1881 Hungary copper was sweet as well!!
Holey cow!

@@Kittlecoins Thanks buddy
I havent heard "scared the bejesus out of me" in a long time . almost spit my coffee out. Lol great hunt
I literally heard Rob say that about a second after reading your comment! LOL
I absolutely love coin roll hunting, no matter what the denomination.
" 1885! HE'S ALIVE, THE DOC'S ALIVE!!.... he's in the old west... BUT HE'S ALIVE!! "
Your Indian-Head find reminds me of the time my wife pulled an 1889 penny in decent shape from the random coins in the bottom of her purse. Totally unexpected.
Another awesome penny hunt. Keep them coming.
Rob, I got a new subscriber, and believe it or not, it’s silver nitrate!

nice finds. beautiful coins
Year 2097: "WOW! It's a 1983D memorial cent!"
Year 2050: WOW A COPPER EDGE
Shut up hes not like that
Wow! Awesome finds!
Wow more really amazing unboxing video!!! :D
Love the s mint mark
Rob that Foreign is a Hungarian penny. There is a really great app for your phone called coinoscope. Lets you scan coins to find out what they are, I found it through silver pickers channel. Thanks for the great video.
When you said roll number 14 the way you did on the first box, I said out loud, Indian head! You pointed the camera to the roll and I was like, “BOOM! Got it right!”. Anyways, nice finds rob. 👍🏻
Great finds
Wife was at work the other day and found a crazy penny. She was handing out change and looked down to see a 1906 Indian head penny. Sweet score rite? What do you think?
You are right, that is a score! They are worth $3 in circulated condition.
Love your videos Rob!
I live in Michigan, and Canadian coins are a nuisance.
JumpinJimmyjack that makes since
I'm in Ohio and get plenty of them too. I was trying to figure out if he saying they're actually supposed to be worth something.
I live in Minnesota and each penny box I hunt there is at least 5 rolls of Canadian coins
Since they stopped making them I keep everyone and I live in Ohio
I'm Canadian and I have more American than Canadian
Great finds, Rob! Love the IHP and the Hungarian copper. When I saw "Magyar" I knew where it was from (my dad's mom was Hungarian). Being in Philly, I rarely see S-mint coins, but today I hunted a penny box and found two (both 1944-S, one with some lustre left on it). Always enjoy your videos. HH
Hey Rob! Want me to send you a box of nickels from San Francisco? I find gems all the time, and I live 30 minutes north of S.F.
Send me a box too
@@lsedanolg what's your address
@@bassassassinnn7459 got an email
David Raful send me one as well lol. Instead of nickels send me some pennies LOL.
Would you do pennies?
Awesome hunt Rob
Love your videos Keep up the good work
On that 1962 Canadian, look for what’s known as the “Hanging 2” variety. I have a couple of them myself. Great video!
really cool ind. head
Nice finds
I live 2 hrs away from San Francisco and have opened one box. It had only 3 wheats but had lots of s mint marks
Some super nice finds. I’d like to see a score sheet for those.
That 1 1969S looks like someone used a lite punch on it
Hey, just discovered your videos and I love them. I’m from Canada🇨🇦 and if you ever want some Canadian coins from the bank just let me know🙂
Same
Interesting I really thought you would find more 70s minted in SF. Shame about that Indian Head being so messed up.
W H E A T P E N N Y E N D E R
I was hunting while watching your video and you gave me luck I have found a 1939 nickle which is 90% silver :)
It might not be 90% silver
The IHC is amazing. I've never found one of those. My grandfather, who hunted in the 1950's and 60's, found about a dozen of them.
Forgive me but what is so important about 1969S pennies? I hear you talk about them quite frequently.
69 s has a double die front out there worth over $100k in high grade
Great finds! You should remind the newer viewers that all Canadian cents 1996 and older are copper
I just started collecting pennies. I got my first wheat Penny😺
Awesome!
If you think you have a problem getting S mint pennies, try living in Georgia! Lol
LOL - I bet!
AGuySomebody101 I DO live in Georgia....
AGuySomebody101 try living in Massachusetts! Haven’t gotten a single S mint mark in a box yet.
Bruh living in Ohio sometimes you forget S mint marks exist
I recently hunted my first penny box and when my mom walked over, I found a 1920!
Sweet pickup buddy i just posted a video 2 days ago I have a super old Persian coin if u could watch it and let me know if it's Persia or Roman 18 year's ago the guy at the coin shop told me it's Persia coin but he wanted it real bad he keep throwing prices at me please watch it if your not busy so I could do something with it thanks buddy have a great day
Let’s go new vid
Awesome video! Great content as always! God bless you all. :)
Something tells me that isn't going to be the last time Rob's brother in law mails him boxes
Nice hunt Rob I find 69 d all the time and 69 once in a while I average about 6 per box
How do you get so many boxes of circulated pennies? When I get them from my bank they are all brand new pennies.
I live in San Francisco and I can tell you that there really isn’t a lot of S mint mark coins when I’ve had searched through Penny boxes. It’s mostly “D”.
Good video as always.
That is an accurate account (as you'll see in the video), BUT I saw a lot more 68S-74S than I normally see (as in maybe a roll per box versus my 10-20 per box).
Oh that's hard to believe I live in Monterey Seaside and I get a lot of s minted coins and lately I've been getting a lot of 50 60s and 70s that are mixed in with the shields and you have to look at the back that's how clean these coins are and they had to have come straight from the mint unless someone took a bunch of BU rolls and threw them back in the circulation
With the heavy circulation of cents, I don't think there would be huge differences between a box bought on the East coast from a box on the West coast.
You’re a good presenter Rob. It’s not easy making an exciting coin video. I enjoy the videos.
Nice hunt! Do you save 2017 P pennies? Just curious 😀
What is special about them?
@@justinshoats6989 It is the only year the Philadelphia mint added the "P" MM onto the obverse of the coin.
What do you do with the zincs? Don't the banks tell you they won't take them?
You got me hooked. Love watching you do coin hunts.
THAT'S IT!! I'm going to bank to get a penny box, wish me luck BOIS!
I just found a 1955 S wheaties in what must be MS or as near as anything could get it was weird, looked like a 2000's coin at first glance.
Will Conner That Penny is worth 20-100 $!
Just opened my first two penny boxes today. My grandfather was a huge collector, he past last year leaving me a big collection I didn't know what to do with. Your videos inspired me to learn more about u.s currency and pick up his collection where he left off. Also can't wait for your key date Mats arrive ordered Penny's and Nickels.
Thanks Joey and I did ship them so they are in route brother!
Can’t wait to watch #notificationsquad
Seeing S minted pennies is getting old for me. Living in Idaho, every other coin is one. I get exited when I see a Philadelphia minted coin
w.t.b gamer!!!! I live in Minnesota and all the coins before 1947 are Philadelphia’s and the ones after are Denver’s. All the ones after 2010 are almost all Philadelphia
!!!!!!! Soooooo coooll I wish I had that box!!
I live about 90 miles from the San Francisco mint I have found three 2017 p pennies good luck in the hunt
So what's so special about the 1969 S pennies?
I just got a california box of nickels two days ago!
Wow rob, the old Indian head penny and the old Hungarian coin is a good sign that the Bay Area is the way to go. My best foreign was a 1952 nickel from Luxembourg
Nice, I love me some S's, found a 1952 S penny last week.
1940 s in some pocket change
@RobFindsTreasure
Curious what the significance of the 1974-s is? Low mint? Error / variety? Or just cool? Thanks for all the time you put into all these great videos for everyone!!
You just don't see a lot of 68-74 s mint pennies. They aren't really worth anything, but that isn't the point of doing this.
We live in California Elk Grove
So luck Rob, I have no more pennies. But i heard some banks might still have some they haven't sent off to melt yet. I'll be asking.
Hey Rob do you keep all your 1950S NICKELS? Also what is your favorite coin to roll hunt? Other then half dollazzzz 😉
I keep 1955 and earlier. My favorite is Pennies - over half dollars.
@@RobFindsTreasure found a 1971 proof nickel last night and my oldest find yet 1938 nickel. Such a great hobby, i always have $1000 in coins on hand 😂😂
Hey Rob got a box of penny today, most new 2019 D new new. Need a roll?
This is the last one Rob search a lot of penny rolls and I'm in finding bu coins with the s mint mark that I thought they were Shield sense that's how these coins look in the old coins are part of the collectors don't bring them back into circulation cuz I put in a bunch of wheat pennies and V nickels but these are us minted coins and I've talked to bottom on streams AR still better looking than the shields that's how new they are gobbler dumping Bank ball bags back into circulation sorry for so many messages I enjoy your stream God bless
Hey Rob how much is a penny mat?
lol I live in sf but there is not very many banks with penny boxes.
Is there a reason why you keep your copper? Just wondering because I am just starting coin roll hunting and I am wondering if I should keep the copper.
Kool Kyogre Normally it’s just a collectors choice to keep the copper. Technically a copper penny is worth around 1.8 cents in melt value, but some collectors just don’t bother
@Kool Kyogre - There is no real reason to save copper Cents. It is currently illegal to melt down U.S. copper Cents and Nickels. You would do far better to roll the coins you do not need, deposit them and buy the coins you do want.
OldSchoolR&R - Thanks! I think I will only keep the 95% ones from 1962 and before. Thanks for the info!
@RobFindsTreasure, your videos are fun & great to watch & educational for collectors. Also, do you collect 1971 & 1972 P Lincoln pennies? If you do, then maybe you could do A "double die obverse" variety hunt for those 2 years, it's just an idea. Can't wait for your next video, good luck & Happy Hunting.
Yes! I have been waiting for this video 😃
I’m pretty sure they had key rings in 1885 because the type of key and lock we use today has been around since the 1860’s. I’m not knocking you btw, your extemporaneous patter is brilliant, I’m jealous of your ability to speak off the cuff while remaining brief and interesting. Most RUclipsrs would really benefit from a script but not you...it’s a gift, brother! And speaking of brothers, I’m from the East Bay originally so you get points for having such a cool brother! 🤜🤛
Love it.... That indian was a super bonus... Now that you got the goodies... You can make your bros send the goods more often... 😂
Forgive the dumb question, but why did the one that sent them to you have to pop the tops to verify circulated pennies if you could do that from simply checking the holes?
Cool California copper.
Do you check 1970 for the high and low 7?
This is why I check call my pocket change and I spend the bills to get more change everyone else has a better chance of getting the West Point Quarter then we do here where I live
Awesome hunt Rob💥💥💥 Not Bad at All 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Wow insane find!
I don't actively coin hunt or anything. But I do find it surprising how often I get 100 year old wheat pennies in my change. I get 4-5 a year just from routine trips to the store. Even got a 1909 a few years ago (not the good one).
Hi
I love seeing that Indian Head penny...love seeing coins with Native American iconography on it
Finally you call someone brother who is your brother-in-law and I think I caught it I think your brother-in-law’s name is Jordan
It may seem a bit away, hate to rhyme, but some have done, you'll get your 50k, i'll be here cheerin' you on
Great video
1881 Magyar Kiralyi Valto Penz (Hungary) 1 Filler Coin is what I found, hope it helps
Just a quick question if I join your Coin channel can I send you pictures of coins that I have questions on possibly answer those for me and see how much you think they’re worth and if this is the case can you tell me which one should I join
Today I found my first Indian head penny ( 1906) and it’s in great condition
I have a question, so how much about in box usps inside of box of pennies?
To many S's
Lol
Never too many!
WOW 1885 Indian, I wouldn't care it was beat up either. Some cool finds 1881 from i forget now lol, still cool, Another great video Rob you where made for this Brother.
Just to give you more information on why many old coins are holed, the holes are because people used to put their coins on a string and tie them somewhere on their body so that they wouldn't get lost by falling out of their pockets. It also made it harder for them to be stolen.
Nice finds. With an IHP and 1918 and 1920 plus some S mints. You can't get mad at that.
I think pennies are fun to hunt through. It don't cost a lot of money and it's kind of fun. Sometimes you find some cool things. I think I might try to do that. I just hope my local bank will let me do it
I love coin hunting. Don't know what I'm looking for half the time but I'm learning more about it
Rob, I have a stupid question. How can you tell what is copper and what is zink just by looking at them?
Copper is some of 1982 and all earlier. Zinc is all of 1983 and later, some of 1982.
Hey Rob every box I find has 1969 S's. you want to send you three boxes and you send me three?
I know this is an old video but I just got my first S mint wheat penny!!
