The birthing scene in DUNE, a stunning visual effect, was used by the band Skinny Puppy at the start of their banned music video Worlock. It's worth checking out as the video also features scenes from lots of video nasties and other horror films, a classic song from the 1989 album Rabies co-produced by Al Jourgensen of Ministry
Skinny Puppy vocalist Kevin Ogilvie changed his style of vocals for the track much differently than anything he had done before on previous albums like VIVIsectVI or Cleanse Fold And Manipulate and before the next album Too Dark Park which Kerrang magazine described as controlled chaos at it's most unsettling and features the 12" single Spasmolytic which also has a horror theme video directed by Jim Van Bebber
The video for Worlock is available in HD on RUclips, finally after year's of only bad quality VHS bootlegs.

Love their lenticular covers, got Grindhouse and Halloween II & III. The skull on Halloween II really pops!

When I first watched Lynch's Dune It gave me nightmares as kid when it came out 😂 I love it now watch it often tbf Massive fan of David Lynch in general 💯💯 I absolutely love Twin Peaks. Great Vid mate

Hi John,
I don't often comment but I urge you to pick up the Criterion 25 film Zatoichi set. I've watched 24/25 of the films in it. There is a 26th film also starring Katsu from the original 25 ones. I've got the 26th release, having to import that one from USA. I've also got the Takeshi Kitano from Imprint.
Anyway I digress, the 25 film set from criterion is one of the best sets in my collection. Katsu plays the role to perfection. The first one or two films are something akin to a Kurosawa samurai film. Then it becomes a little more formulaic but each one has its own identity and twist on it. I'm sure many more can articulate it better than me but the set is an essential purchase for any fans of samurai films. Complements The Lone Wolf and Cub boxset also from criterion perfectly, the main guy from that series I'm pretty sure is the brother of the guy who plays Zatoichi and even has a cameo in one of the films. Anyway I'll just repeat the boxset is top drawer. Also the artwork is beautiful and each films has some custom artwork in the book that comes with the set and the transfers are superb. The films are visually stunning! I cannot recommend enough! You can pick it up from hmv using one of their 20% off codes or wait and try and do the same when it goes on sale.
It would be great to see your opinions on the set, I'm sure you will be mighty impressed.
Also I agree with imprint, I am a big fan of their work although sometimes I feel they can improve in the transfers, but I suppose they mostly just use existing masters that can look a bit dated rather than doing stuff themselves. Regardless the shipping is really good, impressed with Australia Post. I've got a fair number of their releases and just got the Brando set and Farrow sets in recently as well as the first 3 in the Asia Imprint new sub label. Currently getting through their after dark neo noir sets, and the Zhang Yimou, Gong Li set, which is amongst my favourites box sets in my collection so far too (5/8 films down, and they range from very good to masterpieces) they have a standard edition now so I can recommend that as the limited is OOP and very expensive, the artwork is simply fantastic too. Especially if you are a fan of Asian cinema, they are Chinese drama films. Oh and I've got a few preorders with Imprint they are doing a scorsese set and a new neo noir set and a hardbox release of another Zhang Yimou film. They've got some new releases out soon of 40s and 50s horror which look good but I can't spend anymore at the moment. I like the Lewis Allen double feature boxset they are releasing but I have one of the films from criterion already so I skipped it. I wish I got their noir sets before they went OOP but there are some titles also released over here by indicator so saves double dipping a bit I suppose and those Australian imports are not cheap!
Australian boutiques are smashing it at the moment to, I can recommend Chameleon films, they have some great Johnnie To releases, and I just watched their Motorway release the other day. Also got a few Umbrella releases on order some Korean stuff and a Fulci giallo.

I bought the Arrow 4k L.E. box a few years ago, but I'll get this just for the 3hr Extd TV cut...and the lenticular cover/case.
I believe David Lynch disowned and took his name off the 3 hr cut...
Yeah this longer cut really interests me Jamie!! The case is unreal 😵💫🤩🤩👏👏 oh wow didn't know that although I knew David Lynch didn't have the best experience on this film Jamie 😵💫😁😁👍👍

Can honestly say I don't think I've seen the longer cut and I'm surprised it's not been available past DVD 🤯😁 glad it's on this set Jamie, I'm interested in watching the extras to see if there is any reasons behind David Lynchs thoughts on the longer cut 🤔🤩👍

That Dune set is really nice John, even though it is blu ray only. Fantastic lenticular and art cards and has the extended tv version as well. I have the big Arrow 4k box set and that only has the theatrical version. The absolute best editions are the German Koch/Plaion box sets, they are absolutely loaded. Cheers. Gaz.

The 4k isn't too far away from this blu ray, it's got it all hasn't it 🤩🤩👍👍 I didn't realise that the big box Arrow set hasn't got the long cut in it!! 😵💫🤩🤩👍👍 I saw an incredible set on Euphoria Pictures channel !! The Arrow 4k was going to be my go to version over the UK regular blu ray but this one has it all, even though its a blu ray it beats Arrows version John 😁😁👍👍
I absolutely love Lynch's DUNE bud. You can't blame Lynch for this film. it was an impossible task. Dune is such a huge universe that it's hard to capture on film.
It's funny Tris but i never hear that said much until I've made this video and I'm hearing people say they love it, I'm really in the right frame of mind to check it out now!! I really wish that he had full control over the finished film Tris 🤯😊😊👍👍

It’s the Criterion Set of 25 films from 1960’s to 1970’s.
That one is just ok. A reboot. CGI blood splatter and…he says he’s not blind , at the end. 🤷♂️ WTF ?
You want the Shintaro Katsu set of 25 films. He’s the older brother of the Lone Wolf and Cub actor ( also in the Radiance Films The Bounty Hunter trilogy ).
I know it's not the definitive Zatoichi version 👍👍 I'm a big fan of Beat Takeshi so I'm interested in his films in general, I'll try and get the big box of the Zatoichi movies (lovely design) 😊😊👏👏 cheers for the info mate 🤩🤩👍👍
This remake got my spider sense tingling, too. It was only a couple of weeks back that I got it. But, it lacks the humour and drama of the originals.
If you wait until the Criterion sale…that’s when I bought mine. Think it was 30% off and their sales are regular 👍👌
