This was crazy! From a ho-hum traffic shot to multiple shots being fired and the chase is on. Two thumbs up for locating the shooter and keeping up with them. The first cop that caught him sprinted like a track star, second cop that tackled him threw him down like a pro defensive back. Nice to see physically fit officers.
August 10, 2023 The driver, a 23-year-old Detroit man, and his 19-year-old passenger, who was identified as the alleged shooter, were both booked at the Detroit Detention Center. A rifle was recovered from the suspect vehicle. Police said a 27-year-old shooting victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries. MSP did not release any information about what may have led up to the shooting, but did say that investigators learned that Detroit Police has been looking for a white Ford Escape in connection with another shooting earlier in the day. The investigation is ongoing. “Great job by both of these troopers to take these two dangerous suspects off our streets," said MSP First Lt. Mike Shaw

@cluckhead1913 Yeah, but I bet if you don't pay them, you can't register your vehicle. It is the same in California. And before you respond and argue, are you MAGA? Because, it sounds like it to me. There has been a lot of oppression against poor people and especially black poor people in America. The laws being made now are an attempt to relieve the burden on the poor people who break laws as just a means to survive. I don't necessarily agree with it, but it is better than nothing. This suffering has been ongoing for over 200 years since slavery, and America throws scraps at the problem. Luckily for me, I had a mother who loved me and understood that the law, must be followed in a civilized society. Otherwise we descend into anarchy. My mother also understood that education was the only way to increase your status in a civilized society. So, I used my mother's love and knowledge to find a way out. For those who don't have that, it can be extremely rough. Not that it has been easy for me. Oppression sees color. 'Nuff said.
I was pulled over by the Michigan State police a couple weeks ago. The officer was very respectful and professional, and sent me on my way without a ticket.
They got me too bud. I even admitted I was speeding and when he asked if there was a reason I chuckled and said "well, honestly? I'm just looking forward to the weekend, sir." He said "well, alright" and then he ran my info and said "Well, no ticket tonight. You got cruise control?" I said "yeah, I should probably be using it." He said "Yeah, you should use the cruise control and just listen to some tunes. You're free to go, no ticket." That was a few months ago now back during the summer of 2023. I've been setting the cruise control to 79-80. I drive past MSP all the time and they don't stop me at 80mph. The night they got me I was doing 86. 100% chance the County boys would've written me a ticket for 16 over the speed limit.

The driver, a 23-year-old Detroit man, and his 19-year-old passenger, who was identified as the alleged shooter, were both booked at the Detroit Detention Center.
Mike Shaw

In Detroit, no one pays traffic tickets. They're treated like library fines.
'Nuff said.

He said "Yeah, you should use the cruise control and just listen to some tunes. You're free to go, no ticket."
That was a few months ago now back during the summer of 2023. I've been setting the cruise control to 79-80. I drive past MSP all the time and they don't stop me at 80mph. The night they got me I was doing 86. 100% chance the County boys would've written me a ticket for 16 over the speed limit.
