Please notice this super important tip for palm rejection: There is a certain distance between the pen'stip to the screen, in which the device recognises the pen. This is when it knows not to register touch, try not to touch your screen before the "pen hover" option kicks in. Although it sounds cheesy, it saves a lot of headaches from lots of people
Shoot. I absolutely would have loved the new Samsung Ultra laptops but I was super sad to see it didn't come with a touch screen. That's the one thing i can't give up on
Sweet review. The included S-Pen is okay, but I can highly recommend upgrading to the Amazon Scribe Premium pen. Apart from working as normal (tilt, pressure, all that), there's a side button AND an eraser, all of which are working nicely. Oh and it's magnetic and sticks to the back perfectl too. Solid upgrade, but still on the look out for felt nibs.
This is exactly what I did with my book2. The only thing I can't figure out is why the eraser and side button both do the same action, i even downloaded the propen app to rebind it.
@@SpaceTheAge sorry if you get bombarded by comments, but tried posting twice and links aren't allowed, but I use Autohotkey to remap only the side button without effecting the eraser. I've posted the script on the tabletpc review forum (under the thread in the Windows section) in case you fancy a google.
how much is Is it? Also how does the charging work for the amazon scribe pen?
@@SpaceTheAge hey, sorry it took so long to reply, but I have the side button set as right click and eraser working as it should by killing the spen service and using a custom AHK script. It won't let me post links here, but drop me a line on social, some variant of @cribble should find me and I'll hook you up.
I personally use clipstudio with the tabmate to get around the lack of keyboard access while using my book2 pro 360 but just thought I'd point out that you can use the virtual keyboard from the task bar on these devices while they are folded back.
Been waiting for this for a while, arrived my hands a few days ago, and I was able to paint with it, and it's quite good. I'd have loved it with a dGPU, it'd have been the perfect creative laptop, I need something that I could model and do 3D work while painting as well.
I'm glad I waited on this instead of getting the Book2 Pro 360. As Brad noted, it's pretty pricey, but I'm even going to import it, adding to the price. Huion's Kamvas Studio tablets are promising, but Samsung + Intel make a very good laptop/drawing tablet combo, I don't think anyone else can beat them there

Hey, Brad. I noticed the 7FE is like 350 to 500 on samsungs site right now. As someone with no tablet that enjoys doodling is that high on your recommended list or should I wait? Is it gonna be supported for a few years or dropped? Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Oh my god, I got an LG 2-in-1 last year because of that: screen. 16" 16:10 aspect ratio with 2560px resolution. I love Samsung but the old 360 ran FHD which was lame so I am thrilled to see they upgraded the resolution! That looks super nice to draw on and I love your comic redraw Brad! It looks great!
What model did you get?
@@knzzi1550 It's literally called the Gram 2-in-1, I got the 16" year 2021 variant. (the 2022 variant wasn't out yet at the time of purchase) It also comes with a Wacom OEM(?) pen and you can use the driver that Wacom makes for their third party outsourcing, it is a decent pen but I felt that my Samsung Tab S6 writing experience was slightly better. I use pen regularly for note taking and scribbles for work. There is a noticeable difference in tapering and smoothness between the LG pen and the Samsung S Pen, the S Pen feels better to use.

Hello. Is it possible to touch the screen with the left hand while the right hand is blocking the screen?
I would like to use the left hand touch gesture with clip studio while drawing with my right hand on the screen.
I am having trouble with the galaxy tab s8 ultra because it does not accept operations with the other hand when one hand is on the screen.
Which one would you recommend more between this laptop and the Huion Studio 16?
If you are planning for video editing and 3d modeling, the Asus zephyrus rog 14 2021 is cheaper and runs those programs flawlessly since it has a good GPU and CPU. And for what you save in price you can even buy a separate monitor to draw on. I am sure there are other models that are more recent that could work too but that's a good option. Only problem is that those computers which are designed for gaming won't allow you to draw while you're on the sofa because you need to have the tablet connected, they don't have the best screen or color accuracy as other devices. But again, with the money saved maybe you could buy a good monitor and stuff like that while having the performance of a gaming computer

Unfortunately this year there is no 13 inch version of the Pro 360... The previous generations 13 inch Pro 360s were insanely light at 1kg.

Good point on looking at last years model or waiting for this to go down. I really wanted one of these or the new Huion Kamvas Studio 16, but I hate the prices. Gonna just buy a old huion drawing tablet and keypad dial on sale for my PC, and just buy this Book 3 Pro 360 or the Kamvas Studio Pro 16 next year when they are a better value.

What software you use to draw on this/ Microsoft surface pro?
Hi Brad. Using a drawing globe or similar, does It improve the palm rejection issue?
Very much interested in this as well. A few days ago I tried a Book 2 Pro 360 demo unit in an electronics store, and despite checking the necessary Windows Ink settings, palm rejection didn´t work as it should have. If a drawing glove resolves the issue I´m a happy camper.
I have this and im using Paint tool sai but the pen sensitivity isnt working. I tried changing settings on laptop and on the app so no clue what im doing wrong lol
Do you use a screen protector? I worry about non-rubber tipped pens (Wacom, Noris digital) scratching it.
Just bought the Lenovo Yoga 7i 16 ...16:10 aspect, 16gb, 1tb: lovely screen, and only cost 1199 euros.
The pen works great (I'm coming from the mighty S-pen, and there's almost no difference, and no palm rejection issues whatsoever)
Worth a look, if 2000 euros seems a bit over the top for a convertible for artwork.
2k sure is way too much for this device. You can get the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio for 1.6k.

Can't wait to see your and every1 thought on the new huion studio tablets especially the 16in one. That seems like a better option than the surface pro based on specs and price. As a animation major, just bringing a tablet alone would help me so much. How can u have a animation class of 15 with only 5 wacoms. And there barely any room on the "desks" to have laptop+ tablet+ and maybe extra monitor or keypad. Ugh this campus pisses me off so much.
And they make people pay all that money to not even have the classes fully equipped. #CollegeisaScam
I'm going with the 13" version simply because i like smaller and lighter, and since my dominant art program is Paint Tool SAI, the 1080p res is perfect. Not many people review the 13" version, but it would probably end up being similar to a lot of XP-Pen Artist 10 reviews where people mainly say "too small, buy this if you're a beginner."
The 13" does not come with the pen, however.
Can the pen be bought separately? And can it be attached over magnet to the book?😊
@@ScandiSquirrel yes, the pen can be bought separately. Any version S-Pen will work as well as a Wacom One pen if you prefer something larger. I'll let you know if the s-pen can attach magnetically when my unit comes next Friday 😀! If you do by the 13 inch from the Samsung site, they're offering a $150 credit on accessories if you don't do trade in. With that, you can add the s pen pro (or two galaxy tab s-pens) to your cart for free. It's not magnetic (you don't need to charge it to draw), but it's about the size and weight of an apple pencil.

Now that you've dabbled in a bit of blender and 3D, I've love your perspective on devices and setups for it. For things like sculpting, texturing and reasonable usable viewport performance, RAM and video memory etc. It seems like tablets like the Galaxy Book and Microsoft Surface are overpriced and underpowered, an XP pen screen display isn't very portable, iPad has good apps like Nomad Sculpt for sculpting and Procreate can pain 3D models now, but the iPad has no good way to connect to a PC
I'd be interested in how Blender and sculpting in Blender works on a Wacom equipped computer like this. On my zbook - I've never ever had Blender support pressure sensitivity when sculpting.
my zbook is now 5 years old and I'm starting to look at alternatives but I think Blender will not be an app that works with a Wacom screen. It'll probably work great with a separate graphic screen like a Huion or Wacom Cintiq but I have my doubts about a built in Wacom.

For ipad try Easy Canvas. It makes your ipad a pc display tablet. Theres also Astropad but its way more expensive I think. You can search up some reviews on youtube

This is what I have this one might be a year newer ? I only have 2 Ports on each side,with the AMOULD screen I love it. I really want a Samsung tab se7 or se8 or 8plus to pair with it and draw on the go but I also have a MacBook, so I don’t know what tab to buy I am looking forward to Samsung as an apple user I love Samsung now ❤
I loved my time with the Tab S7, but I will say that if you're looking into it for art, I'd recommend an ipad over it. This laptop would rival the ipad though.

That is.., I just bought another Samsung Notebook 9 Pro 15.., for $200! A backup machine. (My original unit is still going strong, but I have come to depend on it rather too much for comfort. Now I'm safe!)
In this case, some corporate entity was hitting end of lease on a bunch of gear and selling everything off, (or something like that.) They had a bunch of N9Ps for around $200.
They were available for maybe 2 weeks before enterprising obsessives like myself scooped 'em up. The price has returned to normal, (averaging $700 for used units.)
£2000+ now for an ultrabook 2-in-1 with no dGPU! Tough year for PC makers I feel that it is a hefty price tag and, for many, a step too far. Apart from the higher-res display and small upgrade to components, this is just refinement, not a massive leap, as the iGPU is 3 years old and showing its age. Still, Intel has thermal constraints in thin and light ultrabooks (all the gaming laptops are moving to thicker and larger form factors (16 and 18-inch, to handle Intel's high wattage demands). Easy pass for me.
Had to pass for the ultra because of graphics 💀 Get rid of the chin and lack of gpu and I'd be damned to not buy it
2k sure is insane for this type of laptop.
For 1.6k you can get like the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio, which offers a superior 2 in 1 design (better cooling).
Wish it had an AMD variant, that would give much better GPU performance and battery life
@@adrianill3000 Yeah but unfortunately the 11th gen cpu in that doesn't have the battery life and power that 12th and 13th gens do and the screen isn't quite as premium. I really hope Microsoft refreshes it soon though, cause yeah, the form factor is fantastic.

fun fact, 2k is actually 1080p. it's called 4k because it's roughly 4000 pixels wide (3840). 1080p is 1920 pixels wide, so 2k. 1440p is 2560p, and is 2.5k. I would saw 3k or 2.8k are both fine terminologies for this resolution

Not a bad review. A little too much plugging of Fresco when most will be using apps like CSP that need keyboard shortcuts. As most users will be holding the 360 I think dismissing on screen hotkey software isn't helpful.
I also think when reviewing this product as a drawing tool it is needed to add that a matte screen protector can be applied to the screen to change the drawing feel and that because it is Wacom EMR tech there are other 3rd part more ergonomic styluses available with different nibs.
One thing that did disappoint me in this review is that because the 360 is running Windows 11 you did not explore if the 360 could run Android apps and if the SPen was recognized in those Android apps. For 3D and 2D artists the ability to run Nomad Sculpt would be useful.
Since you have brought up the limitations of using the 360 for 3D work it may make an interesting review to determine what it the most bang for one's buck. Does a Samsung Tab 8 Ultra and a cheap gaming laptop make a better art set up than a 360 for example. Dive into the math of hardware and program costs and add the benefits of ergonomics.

I also like the Galaxy Book3 Pro 360... Ugh! Long name. It has some things I would go for like 360 hinge, the S pen and the screen, especially the 15.6 version. The cons for me is also the hinge is not stiff for holding to a angle for illustrations, I'm not much a number pad guy and no discrete GPU which is huge deal breaker, especially for it's price which is also another con. I would buy last year's model because its a better buy now for others but for me, it's not.
Not all it's lost. I'm going to try Adobe Fresco because it has quirks of having a mobile UI interface and simple to use while almost like Photoshop. Thanks Brad for the review. I wouldn't buy the laptop but entertaining

I just picked up the Azus Zenbook Flip 14" with 12th gen i5 and 2880x1800 OLED, comes with Asus Pen 2. It has been ~£800 in UK. I'm loving it.
I can also have it linked to an eGPU if I need a real GPU.

A useless yoke, it's pretty and the screen is beautiful, BUT to spite the intel 9i, it's slow, even the Web seems to slow down (no idea how) although I'm not a gamer, but I do the odd time for a break, but this comp doesn't even play Civ 5 at a decent level. I sent mine back for a lenovo which has what this comp has but with a decent gpu.
Better performers out there in this price range you say; like what?
Unless you’re doing 3d work for a living or an avid 3d art/animation hobbyist creating large projects, the integrated graphics are just fine, for simple Blender work. And if you’re primarily a 2d artist, a discrete gpu doesn’t do squat. Be real in what kind of user you are and purchase appropriately. You just like to dabble with Blender and not a big gamer, it’ll do just fine. Although a 32gig version would’ve been nice.
