Ippo is a lot more than just boxing. It's the author's humor and soul that makes Ippo; Ippo. I remember trying to read this and dropping it pretty early on since it was boring.
All-Rounder Meguru. It's one of my favorites for the duality portrayed between the protagonist and antagonist. As martial artist it was easy to identify with both of their motivations
It had a very promising start, everything was falling into place but the ending wasn't satisfying to say the least. The show ended before most (If not all) could reach their desired place.

Yeah it had a promising start because it was sort of copying the Ippo story beats, but went downhill after that.
