Thanks Ape, always a good overview of the product.
Thanks FEP, I appreciate you checking it out 👍
Thank you for showing how to use this machine! As a person very new to electronics it has felt kinda overwhelming.
Your instructions are very much appreciated!♡♡♡ :)
Glad it was helpful, thanks for watching Aname!
Great Review, very thorough and informative. Appreciate your attention to detail. Keep up the great work 👍.
Thank you, glad you liked it 👍
Great review Ape!
Thanks Chuck 👍
Great walk-through of the product
Thanks for checking it out C&C!
Your resistance measurements are jumping all over the place because the probes are not making proper contact as the breadboard is moving around.
I am going to re-cap an old Pioneer 70s Hifi amplifier ( a SA-9800). Is this multimeter reliable concerning the voltages in the amp or should I get something else? If so, what?
When thinking of it I also have a very old Akai M-8 Tube Reel to reel which has huge caps. So maybe this multimeter is dangerous to use in that environment?
Love that 8008 small guy! I have the blue and red one.
Yeah, the 8008 is great. Thanks for checking it out Brian 👍
YOU ARE SO GOOD MY BROTHER. THANK FOR REVIEW SIZE Uni-t and both aneng
Glad you liked the video 👍
I rarely use mine now as I have the ut139e and the ut61e+, however this is the meter I recommend as the first one to buy. It’s accurate enough, can measure μΑ, a good size and has the temperature probe. In fact, out of the three I own the only one I say not to buy for is the ut61e+. It’s a waste of money when the far better ut139e is only about £6 more.
Hey Mark. And the 20K counts on the 870 is pretty sweet too! I don't use mine because I traded it with a buddy. Glad you liked the video and thanks for watching.
Not a bad piece of kit!
Right, thanks for checking it out TO!
Hi, is there any chance/way to modify the ROM, and so this AN870 will be able to produce the Square Wave Output? I can see the LCD display is ready with the Square Wave Output segment... If so, this AN870 will be the best replacement for AN8008 + AN8009.
Not that I am aware of, thanks for watching Antonius
Thanks for the video. You say you wouldn't use this only for electronic and desktop type work... Am I correct in understanding that in your opinion it would not be a safe enough choice for home electric work (230v)? Thanks
I am looking to buy a basic but safe multimeter for doing electric work around the house, and avoiding another cheap Chinese built multimeter that will not last
I wouldn't consider this one for that. Maybe check out the Fluke or Bryman meters but they will set you back some cash.
@@TheSmokinApe thanks for advice. Any model in particular, considering it is definitely not a professional use I have, and cost is a factor. Thanks
What about mA and uA ?? This is where most of cheap multimeters struggle due to their input resistance
I don’t have the meter anymore so I can’t check for you, apologies for not covering it in the video 👍
Those probe holders take their shape when you install the probes in them once.
What will u chose for high..
Prolly Fluke or Bryman
The cheapest one at HFT is good for hobbiest purposes. Under $10.00
Depends on your definition of “good” and what type of hobby work you are doing. Thanks for checking out the video Dominic 👍
@@TheSmokinApe Just enough to get a ball park figure for outlets for 110V AC, 12-13.8v DC for car cig., batteries and power supplies, and checking track voltages and currents on 3 rail Lionel trains. Use it as a job meter? More than likely not.
Not a bad meter.
Thanks for checking out the video Rohn 👍
I bought one of these new . It did not come in a box.
It's odd that some come that way
I have one of those...
Awesome, how do you like it?
@@TheSmokinApe it's handy, works well, easy to use..
@@patm8714 I’ve had my eye on this meter for a while, I was super excited when Banggood offered it to me for review 👍
"On the meter there are some ratings where it says it's a 1000v cat III and 600v cat IV.
I take those cat ratings with a significant grain of salt when it comes to these cheaper budget meters.
I wouldn't use them on any high energy circuits. I would use a more credited brand."
All is said, in fact there is no need to buy a cheap meter cat IV 600v cat III 1000v if you are not going to use it as it should be intented to be used.
When a known brand in this security catergory is about 300$ and this chinese is 55$ the first question that you should ask yourselve before sticking the test probes on high voltage current terminals is: "But where are the $250 of device security & mesurement components that are deducted from the price of the Chinese device?". May be not only $ for the brand logo and color. May be chineses builds are better than other...But, Unlike cats, we only have one life...
Totally agree Jerome, thanks for the comment 👍
Don't do it! A good fluke can cost less than $120.
👍
Fluke meters are not made for hobbyists. A Fluke that's this accurate will be in the thousand dollar range.
