Pronunciation is the easiest part of Japanese. Very few unusual sounds. You just need to read is syllable by syllable, as in your example for Yabushige.
13:00 Well, it's pretty obvious to everyone involved that John, as an Englishman, and therefore *not* loyal to the Portugese crown or the Pope, is going to be a major concern to the Christian (and specifically CATHOLIC) lords on the council of regents, it's going to make them want to move. John is the first European to arrive in Japan not on a Portugese vessel, after all, even just that shakes things up politically, the status quo being what it is.
It only has to make the interests of the Christians different than that of Ishido to sow division, mainly that they want John dead since he knows things that they know, and don't want exposed, that's why the priest in Episode 1 was wanting him executed so badly. Basically, the Christian regents may as well be lumped in as cronies of the Portugese Catholics, since they're under their thumb. So get the Church to have different interests from Ishido (he's the only non-christian lord other than Toranaga edit: apparently only two Christian lords and one other lord that's not Christian and not Ishido) and the focus on impeaching Toranaga goes away.
I don't see how Toranaga wouldn't know some of that, at least that A) the Church wants him dead, and B) foreigner from a country he's never heard of, that's new, maybe he has new information that the Portugese haven't told them.
Edit: unclear about how many Christian lords there are.

Ishido isn't Catholic, Ohno is, and I forget the names of the other two, but the rich guy that tried to handle taking out John by himself is the other.
The more I think about it I'm pretty sure you're right, but I can't think of the remaining Lord, that's neither Catholic nor Ishido.
@@chemputer The two catholic lords are Ohno and Kiyama. Toronaga, Sugiyama and Ishido are not of christian faith.
