    • @toddstevens13
      @toddstevens13 2 года назад

      You have to go back to their clips from the 70's when they went full on Zepplin tunes, with Zeps approval. You think Kennedy Center was a great cover, you have never seen anything they did of Zep from the 70s and 80's.
      You are in for a treat.

    Ann and Nancy had the full attention of every teenage male in the '70's and' 80's. I saw them live once. Speaker cabs ran from the stage to the upper rows of seats on both sides. Nancy walked on them right up to our seats and played. We were blown away. As far as I was concerned, she was playing just for me. I caught the pick she tossed and still have it. They rocked the collesium. It was their BeBe LaStrange tour. 62 and still listen to Heart.

    Little bit of backstory on Zeppelin and Heart. Led Zeppelin was notorious in the music world for hating to have their songs covered. They simply couldn't stand to hear it, or hear about it. But Heart loved Zeppelin's work and used to sneak a song or two into their sets. One night, unbeknownst to them, Jimmy Paige (Zeppelin's guitarist) was in the audience and heard them do a few cuts. He comes backstage afterward, walks up to Ann and Nancy, and tells them to feel free to sing any Zeppelin song they like, whenever they like. The only music crew he ever gave that pass to...and probably the reason they were tapped to do Stairway for the Kennedy Center Honors.

    • @toddstevens13

    They are all the things you are saying about Ann and Nancy but their song writing is second to none. I bought Little Queen album on vinyl in 1977, it was the first album I bought myself and I was 12 years old. Ann and Nancy inspired me to play guitar and write music. They taught me that you can rock out hard and still be feminine. The introduction to Crazy on You that Nancy Wilson played on her acoustic or something I was obsessed with and still them it took me many many years to learn to play it and it's entirety and is well worth the hours I put into it love these ladies and the dudes too! 🎸🎤♥️

    I salute you as a brother in arms. It is amazing how hearing the first notes of a song can rush you back to a place and time and give you goose bumps. When I was 12 in 1965 my parents moved from a southern Willamette Valley farm to The Standing Rock Sioux Indian Reservation at Fort Yates North Dakota. My Dad's Dad was retiring and owned a short order cafe which we bought from him. The cafe had 3 pinball machines, two pool tables AND A JUKE BOX. There were 80 records on that thing. Sooo, I grew up listening to all of that music until 1973 when I joined the Corps. Absolutely fantastic memories. And the best part is I still get to listen to it today. Peace Brother.

    Dan Rather did an interview with them on AXS tv. It's a one hour program called The Big Interview. He interviews so many rock legends. I think you would enjoy it.
