Followed every step exactly as explained and it took me 2 hours to replace. Saved myself 165 dollars by doing it myself. As a recently unemployed single woman thank you soooo much!!!
Fyi... Auto Zone had in stock and I got both regulator and motor for $75 plus tax. Mazda dealership parts dept wanted $450 plus tax for the parts they could have in a couple of days. The job took me a couple of hours to do going slowly because I'd never done this before. I don't think I would have attempted it without this video and a couple others I found on YT. Thank you Theboydslife for putting that out here. Much appreciated!!
Thank you so much!!! Perfect video. I followed every single step. I ordered the part from Mazda and it was shipped the next day. $48.65. Total time was just over an hour. I have a 2014 mazda 3.
Had my car broken into, but needed a window fast. Only place I can get is the junkyard from another car that isn't powered and the windows are up. This video helped me a lot. Hope things are going well for you.
I did this a few days ago, using your video as a guide. Can't thank you enough. Part was €56 and fitted myself in under 30 mins. Dealer wanted €350 for the same job 😊
Thank you for this video. I watched it, found a dealer with the part, ran out of daylight, and was able to finish the repair in about an hour and a half the next morning. Only one extra screw. One note: To reset the auto window, at least in a 2016, roll the window all the way up and then continue to hold the switch up for five seconds.
Excellent Video! I had my door panel apart, because I hear a weird scratchy/gravel sound when using the window and it's struggling to close. Seeing the wire frayed makes me think it's the same issue, with the wire about to fail. I'm confident to take the inside panel with the bolts off now and check. Thanks!
I just removed my daughter's 2015 M3 failed regulator with this excellent video. Tomorrow I'm getting the new regulator and will use this video again. Wish me luck. This video is so perfectly framed!!!! Thanks a million!!! They quoted her over $350. Thieves!!!!
It took a few days to get the WR but it arrived today. Following your excellent/detailed instructions, I was able to put it back together in a snap!!! You are the best! Thanks again.
Just did this with a flash light light in my mouth in 15 degree weather. Instructions were perfect man, thanks! The factory zip tied my motor to the regulator instead of using the bolts, i was like wtf?!😂 I did this for a 2016 mazda 3 2.0 hatchback. Japan built
Very helpful just happened to me yesterday. And today I open the door panel and yes same problem I ordered immediately the part and once comes I will fix it right away. Btw I lifted the glass window and taped it to keep my car safe.
Great video, right detail, the right speed, and excellent detail. Was EXACTLY what I needed. The only thing missing was an explanation if there is an actual difference regulator for the vehicle assembled in Japan vs Mexico. Looking it up there seem to be two different part numbers, but they look the same.
Just used this video to fix my window lol worked perfect everything worked good I had to cut my motor mount bolts shorter but thanks man works great now
i hope i dont have to replace the regulator, but i bought a new switch for 128 and that was it. then today i ordered a new motor but i'm sure it isn't the motor, but it could be. But the regulator is a snot. thanks for making the video! first good video i found.
@@jayminasi6073 if you can hear the motor spinning or sometimes the cables making noise then the switch is good. If you hear nothing then could be switch or motor, giving you have power at the switch.
@@theboydslife7809 my switch was good. i hear a click click when i try to close the window. the motor is not spinning. i do not hear the sounds of a cable that is screwed up. besides the click click, nothing is happening. So i ordered a new motor. before i put it on, i will take the old motor off and i will just bet that it works. the last thing i want is replacing the regulator. i'll have a certain nervous breakdown
here is what happened. i didn't need a new switch or a new motor. today i discovered that the 6 prong connector to the motor had some corrosion! i cleaned it up with 320 sandpaper and applied Dielectric grease and i will be good to go for a good while.
but now the Security Indicator Light is blinking and the when i shut the engine off, the Start Button stayed RED. That never came on in 10 years. There is really no good help with this. i'm not letting the dealer charge me. It seems to be getting better. The Start Button isn't red now, but the warning light still blinks. but if i drive the car and then shut it off and it wont start again, i will be fit up to be tied.
Awesome video.... everything very well explained. The best part was when you told what are the symptoms and what we need to order. I am going to order and start working on it on sunday !! Thanks once again
Excellent video man, also excellent camera man, can clearly see everything, very easy to understand, didn't waste any time. Bout to do this for my sister's car tomorrow and def feel like I got it down after watching this. You should do more vids like this, you got a knack for it. 👍
@@theboydslife7809 Hi. I am in the middle of trying to put the pieces of my wife's 2004 Mazda 3's driver's door back together after having to replace the window motor. Much to my dismay, it was a little like opening the lid to a jack-in-the-box! Bits everywhere! The innards are not as well designed as the 2015 model, that's for sure! Have you worked on the 2004 model by any chance? If so, would it be possible to have you highlight/describe the differences in method needed for this model? Thanks in advance.
@@anitadolan1361 sorry I am not familiar with that year. But if there are “pieces” then I assume the window regulator blew apart. If so it will need to be replaced. I have done hundreds of regulators and don’t know to many that come in several pieces.
@@theboydslife7809 You are spot on about the regulator. It has been replaced, along with the motor, and the entire inner panel, following a mishap with the integral anchor point for the inner door release lever. Your video was invaluable. Without it, I think that I would have been forced to admit defeat, and taken it to a dealer workshop to sort out the mess. Thank you for your expertise.
Life saver right here! Just got quoted nearly $150 for the dealer to even take a look at the issue let alone parts, labor, etc... Turns out the window had just fallen off the track and was jammed so it would no longer roll up. Took everything apart, cleaned, diagnosed and put back together with no issue thanks to your helpful video! Cheers
I laughed when you mentioned about reprogramming the auto feature. A few months ago, I had an issue with my car computer glitching and rebooting while I was driving. I have no clue what caused and could never pinpoint what the actual problem was. I noticed a few times when going through the gate at work, where I have to show my ID, the auto feature on my drivers door window had stopped functioning. After holding the button to make it go down and up a few times, the auto feature starting functioning properly again and I had no clue of why it suddenly fixed itself. Now I know why it suddenly fixed itself, but I still don’t know what caused the computer to randomly restart.

My side mirror assembly was replaced a few days ago at the dealer and now the mirror seems to be off track. Is that possible ? If I bring it in will they try to tell me it wasn’t their fault ?
thanks, in the end it only needed some good lubrication to the rubber guides at the sides of the window, they were so dirty that the windows got stuck everytime when rolling upwards. some good silicon blasts and ready
