All the courses I have ever played allow Bermuda style shorts. Many pros wear shorts during their practice rounds before tournaments. Never seen anyone go golfing without wearing any pants or shorts though so you might be pushing your luck there...
He’s clearly talking about a more professional vibe. No one’s complaining about shorts in the summer when you’re with the boys and having fun. That’s at every golf course I’ve been to. I’m the opposite of “golf look” outside of when I play. But I still wear a polo and non-cargo type shorts when I play.
I just got my clubs today and actually did not spend a lot. I found a set of woods and irons at a pawn shop for $45. I just need to get a couple of wedges and a putter. Thanks for this info, it is very helpful and appreciated 👍
Sounds like a great deal for a starter set of clubs. Ebay is a personal favorite for wedges and putters. Glad this helped you out. Good luck out on the course!
Lynx is a solid mid-level brand especially if you are just getting into golf. I have played them before and had good luck with them. Thanks for joining the Rough Golf community!
Loved the video, you’re hilarious 😂 I have hand-me-down clubs, balls, and was gifted a nice USC towel. Bought some cheap polo shirts at Marshalls. Just need some kicks now Thank you
Thanks Jesse! I am glad you liked the video. Sounds like you are well on your way to being game ready. Good luck in the shoes hunt! One recommendation would be to find a pair that has replaceable spikes unless you are going the hybrid route (more of a sneaker bottom with no screw-in soft spikes). I like the spikes a little bit better. I feel like the offer better grip on those early morning tee boxes!
I have had the best luck finding affordable golf shirts at TJ MAXX and ROSS. Cheapest I have seen is around $11.99 to about $17.99. Hope this helps! Good luck on your hunt!
Pretty sure the clothing part is optional as not all golf clubs are going to be strict on dress code (maybe in US but here in NZ not all clubs care as long as you’re tidy)
Hmmmm that's a tough one. I would look for a breathable option and recommend taking your glove off in between shots to let it air out. If you watch the pros they do this after every time they hit. Also it helps prolong the life of your glove.

Regular sneakers work good when your starting g out but if you play more than a few time a year a good pair of golf shoes is worth the investment. Also some snoody course require actual golf shoes and yes they check.
I gotta stop you on the first one. I play in a band for a living and I dress like it on the golf course. Only expensive "up their own butt" courses have a dress code. I have played multiple rounds in a Cannibal Corpse t shirt. I dont even own golf shoes and Ive never considered buying them
I gotta stop you! "I play in a band," is that like code for, "I live in my mom's basement?" Everyone knows most courses have suggested apparel-- the game is ancient and has ancient traditions. Better for a new comer to realize what may be required than to show up unprepared in a time-warp t-shirt.
This is the most blue collar honest golf equipment video on YT
That's exactly what I was going for! Thank you!
@@ROUGHGOLF cheers
I refuse to wear pants when it’s 95 outside. They’re lucky I’m even wearing shorts.

@@justinjenkins2369 some courses do require pants and a collared shirt if you want to be in their course. What I said was just meant for satire.
Pants can actually feel cooler than shorts, you ever see people working in the fields in shorts and a T shirt?
@@TheBigLebowzki I grew up working in fields with shorts and no shirt lol
You can use a tee to repair pitch marks and mark your ball on the green
First 10 seconds better then many other videos 👍
Thanks!

@@ROUGHGOLF thanks. They're Lynx Parallax, dunno if that's a crap brand or not but they were in good shape. Love your videos. Sub'd 👍

this guy's making funny and enjoyable content 😂
‘Which makes it very difficult to fold’ lol. Thanks for the tips!
Happy to help!
the one thing everyone leaves out is wet wipes in case nature strikes and you are far from the bathroom and some courses don't have but one .

I have a footjoy glove and the fj logo on my glove has a magnet and it's a ball marker
Nice! Footjoy makes cool stuff. Ever had any issues the the ball marker flying off when you swing or is the magnet pretty strong?
@@ROUGHGOLF the magnet is pretty strong yeah
Awesome. I will have to give footjoy a try. Thanks!
Good sense video...very entertaining. You crack me up Rough Golf!

I think there might be a difference in dress codes for public courses and country clubs. Just saying. Lol
I clicked subscribe when you said “you need a towel to wipe off the smegma”
Good video really trying to figure out to work “ shmegma” into my videos.
Yeah I like to throw a technical term in there every once and a while...
@@ROUGHGOLF love it
good vid. so annoying people always wanting to borrow or use what they aint got an should have an get offended when ya tellem, no.

Yeah I've heard of clubs in NZ being more relaxed with dress codes. Good to know.
I always have a problem with blisters when golfing. Would gloves prevent that?
