Beautiful playing. This is my introduction to you sir, and i love that kind of jazz that Les Paul played. I also love your guitars and amps, etc. I have similar stuff, but much cheaper (Epiphone and Squier), with exception of a '66 Bassman head, with 1x15 Black Widow, or 2x15 stock '68 Fender cab. It is glorious and i play it often, mostly at home now, i use a Traynor Reverb Mate 40w for gigs. It gets a decent blackface Fender tone, surprisingly. God bless and good day.
Excellent! Another "Joe" playing my 1960 LP Blessing to benefit Homes For Our Troops. And Joe Robinson make Blessing sing! Thank you Joe Robinson and Premier Guitar for doing this segment. Joe is amazing!
What a fabulous player. Perfect touch, tone and impeccable timing and a wonderfully melodic sensibility. It simply does not get much better than this folks! I am absolutely certain that Robben Ford picked up more than a few things listening to Joe.
When was the last time you heard anyone play that style on a "Burst? As an Aussie it's great to hear you haven't lost your accent. Nice to hear the shout out to Phil Emmanuel. Tommy has become the famous brother but Phil was brilliant too and together they were pure gold.
Joe absolutely deserves to join the elite club of "certified guitar players" - I'm sure Chet would be very proud. A truly stellar player!! And JB, well you can just see the joy he gets from interviewing legends like JR etc. Fantastic stuff! 🙂
Joe R’s playing is awesome and always makes me smile. Saw him on the Guitar Army tour and can’t wait to catch his solo show. Also agree that John Bolinger is a great interviewer.
Man Joe is a seriously incredible player! From 19:00 onwards is just insane playing and tone. John's face at the end of that was exactly my reaction too lol. Great episode guys!
Aussie ! Aussie ! Aussie ! Oi ! Oi ! Oi ! . Followed Joe R's progression for years , your Gas is classical mate !. your work is fantastic mate and you have followed the dream ! good onya . . on a side note to Joe's comments I met Phil Emmanuel a few times over the decades I lived in Cairns ( i was a performing musician and guitar tech/ sales ) , sounds like the same for you , great player, great person , and a great Australian smartarse .. ;-) Sadly missed.
AND when we're gonna see signature John bohlinger models from Fender, Gibson, Gretsh, PRS ...etc? C'mon! This Cat deserves more than any other Cat :) .... WAKE UP and Make Things Happen!!!
My band played a new faces at the basement show one time, Joe happened to be playing before us(think he had just moved to Nashville). We didnt stand a chance.
Great to see another rig rundown on Joe-such a fantastic player (and generous soul). He's still young, but looking at his previous Rig Rundown from 9 yr ago makes you realize he was already an amazing talent when he was just a kid: ruclips.net/video/vO9CHk5AEMg/видео.html. And John Bohlinger did a fantastic job with the interview. I loved seeing his genuine thrill at getting an impromptu in-person mini-concert. -Tom
The Dunlop Jazz III sounds to plucky to me. The best pick for me is a heavy Dunlop Stubby 6mm. It glides over the strings which makes it great for economy picking. Also the Jazz III without the textured surface has a nicer point on it. My 2 cents worth.
So if I heard Joe correctly at around the 11 minute mark he said that Fender did not make that tele (even though you listed it as a Fender Custom shop guitar), so who made it? Is it a parts guitar with a fake Fender decal?
So the tele has a more modern radius (9.5?) but he also said it had a good medium C neck. I thought 50s teles came with fat U shaped necks. Any knows what neck is on that guitar then?
Wood fire to boil water? Luxury. We had to wait till the hole in the ozone layer passes over our house and the excess radiation vaporizes the gold fish pond. Then you’d have to run around in the scalding steam to get clean.

Joe, with all due respect to Robben, I’ve heard your Strat tone and playing on your channel and you have a special voice and chops.
Love everything about Joe, humble, kind and a real guitar virtuoso!
JB is just the best at these rig rundowns. You can tell the featured artist is really relaxed around him.
Agreed . I only watch JB rig rundowns
Thank you PG. Joe is great and such a lovely, humble bloke; which is why he's excelled at the guitar. His parents did a great job in raising him.
Excellent! Another "Joe" playing my 1960 LP Blessing to benefit Homes For Our Troops. And Joe Robinson make Blessing sing! Thank you Joe Robinson and Premier Guitar for doing this segment. Joe is amazing!

That harp-like harmonic tapping thing he does at 19:15 is mind-blowing. What a monster player.
An absolutely amazing player and such a gentle and kind person. Listening to Joe is mesmerizing! One of the best rig rundowns.

That burst sounds great fingerstyle on the neck pickup, I guess that's what it was designed for. :)
Massive sound. Unbelievable touch.
Joe is one of the best, doesn't really matter what he plays to be honest . 90% of it is in the hands
Holy shite, this dude is amazing.

John’s 1967 sunburst Telecaster would make for a GREAT custom shop model.
Such a satisfying player.
Great player!
Stellar. Just stellar.
Thanks John, man that Joe can play! wow
Those Ausies and New Zealanders are all thumbs. Amazing!
My band played a new faces at the basement show one time, Joe happened to be playing before us(think he had just moved to Nashville). We didnt stand a chance.
Killer Player!! Good job as always John!!
Bowling Alley Gig .. Great Playing and Tones !
His playing immediately reminded me of my cousin, Pat Bergeson. And sure as hell they've played quite a bit together. WILD!
Check out Bergeson Fries, a song the two wrote together.
He is one helluva player! 🔥
Damn that intro was intensely dope
I`m thinkin that his selector switch might be backwards .At 20.36 .
Awesome rig
Love Joe! Such a great new discovery for me. What is the Les Paul tune at the end?
God, he is so good.. and great feel.. love this guy.. wow wow wow
Dudes a beast
Joe is an old soul

I’ll See You In My Dreams. Listen to the Chet Atkins & Mark Knopfler version.
@@ndadson yep, that’s the version I posted above
Maton Guitars arriving everyday with great players now! Need to get one of the Jr signature models now
I know Maton because of Paulie Bignell from Oz, very unique rockabilly/blues artist… his hollow body Maton electric is fabulous.
JBx2=Double Fun :) :)
Wow a great player!!
Wow!!!!!

He was talking about the fret radius being more modern than a 50's tele which had flatter frets.
Wow...
Shit this guy rips and cool last name !
He makes it sound like everyone lives with no hot water in Australia, which is totally not the case. Nice playing though
What is the last tune called? Can't remember it:/
Avalon
