Renting points are a great option when you want to decide if you are going to buy into the DVC as an owner . I would say try a few more resorts especially the new fort wilderness timeshare cabins. As well as try out the Saratoga springs. They are beautiful resorts with lots of activities contained theirin. As owners you may not always want to go to the parks. So, purchasing at a resort that is very immersive is critical to your decision. But I would say definitely rent your points initially and then decide to buy .

I highly recommend this! Renting points is usually a fantastic savings too. We did end up buying into DVC and are very happy with our decision. But I’m so glad we got to test it out first. We ended up buying at the Grand Floridian and our first stay was at AKL this past September (this time Kidani side with a 1BR). We stayed there for 2 weeks and we loved it so much we want to add some points there too. I’ve stayed at VGF before and it has a lot of nostalgia for me, so it’s my fave resort, but AKL is a close second. I could have spent the whole trip just handing out there. And I definitely want to try SSR at some point, I love the proximity to DS!

I gotta ask, what made you pick GF? I think that one is too busy 😕. I own 2 contracts, 1. Riviera 2.AKL...in hindsight, I would have picked POLY, over Riviera. Only because the Skyliner is included in our dues , and the Skyliner services 3 hotels, and the deed clause . SSR had a refresh it's beautiful and the Treetop villas are one of a kind. I can't wait to try the cabins in 2025. Keep making awesome videos.

@@QUEENLOLATV My first ever trip to WDW was when I was 10. We stayed at Poly (definitely spoiled me for future Disney trips). One night, we went to dinner over at the Grand Floridian. I immediately fell in love with with the lobby, and in the middle was the grand piano player. I was taking piano lessons myself at the time and I was fascinated by him. I went up and asked if he could play "When You Wish Upon a Star". I didn't expect much, but he then played the most beautiful rendition I've ever heard of the song to this day. I stood there and cried. That was my moment. My magical Disney moment that hooked me as a life long fan. So, GF became my favorite resort and all I ever wanted was to stay there one day. Our Poly trip was a one and done, we never went back as a family. But, I spent most of my life working towards getting to stay at my dream resort one day. Fast forward to adulthood and I eventually bought into DVC at VGF back in 2014 or 2015. I got to do one stay at VGF before I lost my contract in a divorce. So, I guess I have been trying to get that contract back in a way for a while. Anyway, it's a long story, sorry! But, GF has a very special place in my heart. That and we got an awesome deal on the points direct through Disney. I do really want to add on with resales contracts though. Definitely at AKL and maybe even Poly one day! We stayed at Poly on our trip in 2022 and we both fell in love with it!

@@QUEENLOLATV And thank you so much for watching and subscribing! I really appreciate it. I love making vlogs, especially Disney ones :)
I assume the Riviera dues are pretty high with the skyliner included? I would really love to stay there one day too. It does look like a beautiful resort.

@@DisneyCableMagic your story made my me cry. Seriously. I was like...I felt 12 again, and I wanted to stay at the Polynesian , my family is blue collar (truck driver dad), so we stayed off property, but went over there for a dole whip, and I promised myself, I would stay there, when I had kids . So, I understand, your GF moment . Funny, is I purchased my DVC alone, as a joke to my husband, since he wanted an RV (he loves fort wilderness). I said to him, only my name is on this, if we ever get divorced. I did look up timeshares, like DVC are like personal property, like a stove. I even set up a different back account to pay my dues etc. But honestly, he would give it to the kids, if we got divorced. I would suggest AKL, as a 2nd contract, since you seem to love it, and the value rooms at Jambo House are always sold out, if you have to wait for the 7th month window. Try to stay at Poly soon, because the new buildings condo-style, are DVC .I dunno , what they will do with the 3 existing Long houses. Which to me, is the point of stay there. The Riviera is beautiful and very upscale. Think, Ritz Carlton. The halls and rooms are marble etc. the grounds are beautiful and you can watch Epcot and fireworks from the room, especially the tower studio. We tried it once, and it's big enough for 2. All you need at the Riviera is a studio. The 1 bedrooms, honestly not worth the points. The dining options are. Excellent.
