There was a time, back in the beautiful 90s, when Hootie and myriad of other real musicians ruled the airwaves. The tunes were solid, everyone was happy, life was good and FM radio mattered. WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED???!!!

This song reminds me of visiting my brother in Bermuda. He took me to Tuckerstown. Lost him to cancer recently. Missed so many opportunities to spend time with him over the years. You just don't know what's important until it's too late...

Takes me back to my high school years :) although from southeastern Europe, Hottie & the Blowfish were one of my favorite bands while growing up. I LOVE Darius' voice-so pure powerfull.

Living in Bermuda and being in the business, I remember this video being talked about before filming. As you can see in the video it was raining alot. It literally rained steadily the whole time they were here. They must have in the end decided to just film inside someone’s living room. What could have been a spectacular video showing Bermuda’s beauty ended up just an okay video. Still fun to watch 25 years on.
Always have liked this song, but I'm confused about one particular part of the video. Cars in Bermuda are right hand drive and they drive on the left side of the road there. In the video, the car drives on the left but the steering wheel is on the left, not on the right as you'd expect for Bermuda. Seems odd.

Saw Hootie perform in Bermuda. Darius, awesome voice. I like that you take control of your instrument and use it as you need. I love Tucker’s Town, you put our little 64k population on the map
I recognize may of the shots in this video as being on the island of Bermuda where the actual Tucker's Town is located. Bermuda still looks as beautiful today as it did in this video. Sadly, the social commentary in this song was lost on all but a few people.

Maybe it's because I'm going through a difficult time right now. I've got an "internal battle" going on. I bought the CD this song up s on IN Bermuda in 1997. I was on the Boston to. Bermuda cruise with my mother c and aunt. I had the best time.

I wasn't sure what they were going for on this album (didn't seem to have much unity); but this song is one of their best.
They were going for great songs and fun times, whether they "flowed" together or not.

But i know this ....in south carolina in the early 80s if you placed an ad in a newspaper fot musicians or a vocalist.... you would possibly get a phone call from a preteen darius rucker.. high squeaky voice... all excited asking you about your band...what kind of music you played... i remember him calling me when i was like 19..
seems like it was just yesterday.... it was all the kid was EVER gonna do!!!... i was one of the few who actually had the patience to yalk this little kid....and he really was just excited to talk to people in bands and finding out about different music😊 he was a very cool little kid... true story
