My husband and I moved here in Alabama 2 years ago, from Aiken County, South Carolina. This song played on his playlist, and now I'm even more homesick for South Carolina.... where we lived for over 20 years, and raised 4 kids. I love this song, and makes me want to go back home. Two of our kids went to USC .... but the better part of those 20 years of my life was spent in South Carolina. Alabama is a beautiful state, but it isn't home.

Caught Hootie & the Blowfish live in June 2024 - they are still absolutely phenomenal! We didn't sit in our seats for even a minute. What an amazing concert!
Makes me cry too! Whenever I hear this song, I think of driving on the interstate with my family on a road trip with the windows down, watching the fields pass by the windows as the sun is setting bright orange. Oh how I hate time, but this song puts me right back to my childhood.
This! Same here! This whole album... looking out the windows and making up stories in my head about the places we passed as we drove... now everyone in the back seat stares at screens, and I see the new cars have a passenger talk mode... like, a speaker.. because they won't hear you if you just talk from the front seat... scares me... 😢
I’m in my 30s now, but I was truly blessed. My mom had this cd and would play it frequently for my as a kid, so I grew up knowing who these guys were. Such awesome music.
Shout out to their sound people. They have 3 and 4 people singing at once but each one's unique voice comes through when it needs to! Amazing talent on and off stage!!
Can we all appreciate how watching a music video for a great song that was there at an awesome time in your life can invoke great emotions? It’s as if for just a moment it takes you back in time and you feel those memories. This is an incredible song and always will be.
Second row center stage seats, summer night, 1990’s, light breeze, smells from the concession stands, lighters flickering, slight buzz from someone (not me) smoking weed, cold beer with a thick froth, swaying from side to side everyone in sync, Fire flies, completely silent, pure magic, smoke machine going on stage, guitar starts to play and then Darius starts to sing “Time”. I LOST MY MIND!!!! Doesn’t get much better than that on this earth!!!!One of the BEST CONCERTS in My LIFE!!!!!
What a treasure, this man, Darius Rucker and his God given voice. Love this song, love Darius and love this band and the happier times they were such a large part of!
I remember the first time I heard Hootie and the Blowfish, slid the cd into the player in my mom van and .... well lets just say I knew they were beyond incredible. The music, the words, the voices blending... and Darius Rucker.
This Song got me through the most devastating "times" in my life! Thanks Mr. Darius and the blowfish for making a song that truly saved my life. Sincerely Mary C. NYC 💕.
With so much shit in the world going on... one can simply tune into this and be reminded... no matter how dark things can seem, there is always a little light that will never go out.
We’ve got to pull together. We who were young in the 80s and 90s have got to come together and get this country back on track. Our lives were soooooo much more wonderful in those days. Now, it seems they are trying to divide and conquer us from within. Music has and will always bring us back!
"Time... why you punish me? Like a wave crashing into the shore, you wash away my dreams." I'm pretty sure we can all relate oh-so-much to those lyrics.
Was at this show, and Charleston-bound for Friday's show with my daughter Hannah Jane. Hootie will always remind me of a simpler time. God I miss the 90s!

Darius Rucker is an incredibly talented singer and songwriter.
Music is great for healing along with laughter, it's all that's gotten me through on the road as a truck driver, love listening to this and looking at the beautiful trees and lakes and landscape of Northern Ontario ❤️ 😍 ♥️
This song popped up for me today while I was in a store. I darn near cried. First time I've heard it in a little over a month since the funeral for my aunt, oldest sister, and younger brother after they were all killed in a car accident when another driver crossed over the centerline. This song was for my aunt. Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) by Green Day for my sister, and the MSU fight song for my brother. It just perfectly encapsulates the bittersweetness for me. It helps me remember all three of them, but also reminds me that they are gone. Thank you to the band for giving me this connection.

Truly one of the 90s most legendary songs. It captures the mood, essence and feel of that Era that few songs can. The lyrics are are so true and rolling guitar riff is a killa.
Still listening and loving their tunes after all these years💕 just don't get great music like this anymore...Darius's voice is like no other...melts me over and over❤😘
This song hit me so hard when I first heard it and ran out the bathroom to watch it on TV, MTV!: many years later when I got my first 3G phone, this was the FIRST SONG I PLAYED! and now that I was diagnosed with cancer & b4 that my husband had passed away untimely, this is my favorite song in the world! I thank you hooty & the blowfish. I don't believe in time, ONLY GOD
Darius Rucker was 38 when this song was released. I'm 39 right now. It took a while but over the past 4 or so years this song really hits me hard and brings me to tears. I know now exactly what he meant by this song. Time really does punish you and it brings you to tears sometimes. And it really does feel like it's all been just wasted time.
The fack that this guy is still making music gives me hope. Thanks Darius! NOT one cell phone filming ANYTHING, just an involved crowd having fun with some great music. Such a great tune. If you're jamming to this in 2019, Slap that like Button. :)
Wow I haven’t heard this in a long time! Saw them at the purple gator in Myrtle Beach in ‘94. Was upstairs and couldn’t get close to the rail to actually see the band. During intermission, I guy walked up next to me at the bar and ordered an ice water. Got to talking to him, very nice guy, about the band. I said I had never heard of Hootie and the Blowfish. We chatted for a minute, shook hands and said see ya. Told him my name, he said mines Darius. Enjoy the rest of the show. About 10 minutes later the band was back on stage, fired up and played this song. I finally got to the rail to see the band. Low and behold, guess who was singing! He looked up and gave a wave to me and I gave him a thumbs up and a laugh lol.great guy, very down to earth, an experience I’ll remember always. Shared this same story with my son back in 2018 before my last deployment. Gave him my guitar and some chord books. Came home in 2019 and he was jammin this song. Man oh man the memories that music gives!
