The funny thing is that these parts aren't the hardest to find. The rtx 3080 and the ryzen 7 are much harder to get because they're more price effective and the demand is higher.
Unlike the 3090, the 3080 is pretty good for mining too, so while 3090s were almost always in stock in my country, only scalpers had 3089s.
I literally got a 5950 and a 3090 because that's all I could get close to MSRP. They're good for scicomp so I'm fine, but if I was only using them for gaming I'd be pissed.

@@brandonbee9 Depends when you got it, I got my 3090 at $1700 and now some 3080’s retail for $1300 plus, and I actually have a card while now it’s practically impossible to get one so I definitely don’t regret buying it. And that mining profitability is nice too.
Happy with my 5950x. Almost the same build as mine, just the LTT one has less memory and storage. Great experience.

I was able to get 5600x and 6800xt this winter. Not top end but it beats most computers. CPU was easy and at MSRP. GPU was harder and COST $$$$.

The Noctua cooler is no joke I run one on my 3900x and it keeps it cool even when benchmarking both processors and graphics cards at the same time
"The people that bought the big donger power supplies back in the day are reeling it in now". I bought a 1300W psu for my FX-9590 + 295x2 build. That power supply is gonna work in any build I throw it in, lol.
Yeah, people often forget PSU's power ratings go hand in hand with "the rest" of PC hardware. Some triple SLI's configurations back in the day needed +1000 PSU's. Then it goes down with hardware shrinking. Then it goes up with new hardware pushed to the limit. And it goes down and it goes up and it goes whatever. Therefore, guys get a good PSU when they're cheap.

I work as an IT Staff. On the beginning, it took me like more than 1 hour to build a pc. Now it takes me like less than 30mins
I have a 5800x and 3080 and I absolutely love it. However, I can confidently say my i7-6700k had fewer crashes over the course of 4 years than I've experienced with the R7 in the last few months. Could be coincidence, could be RAM, could be chipset. But the i7 is now running VMWare for my work so if that says anything about its stability lol

Yes because using hard drives as an affordable alternative(that can last longer) for mass storage devices is totally comparable to high speed storage on a PURELY gaming system. Do note that this is sarcasm. Of course you wouldn't want to load your games on a hard drive if you are trying to compare the FASTEST computers money *could theoretically* buy. That would defeat the purpose.

I was torn between the 5950x and the 5900x price bump vs performance bump doesn't seem worth it (and it's not) but the sheer power of the 5950x is still tempting. Ended up getting a 5900x though.

But really, try complaining to youtube, your internet provider or any other option but LTT production. I watched this video at max quality all the time. What's wrong with you people ? ... Can't understand your own connectivity problems, yet you're watching an hardware enthusiast channel ? XD

Generally when I am looking for a new system, these are the most important factors, with gaming being second, but it's never really included

i know that feeling all to well, my $2500 rig turned into over $5k because i got tired of waiting for stuff and needed a new gaming pc, but I walked away with a 3080 and a 5950x
Assetto corsa is what I really only play as well. Love to get sideways in that game.
Same, found a lb Nissan GT-R mod with. 1200 bhp, slicks and turbocharged.

@@dickburrows7819 my favorite cars to get sideways are a toyota mr2 and a nissan 240sx mod. The mr2 is an odd choice but I like it cause I am always having to change gear before getting sideways. :)

All depends on the DAW you’re using, how many plugins and which ones you use, how many sources you’re looking to run etc etc, more fast cores and threads help, lots of RAM helps and depending on the DAW you want a Radeon gpu not Nvidia they can be testy with Reaper and some others

I just got a 5900x for £500ish so it seems they're back down as RRP it seems. Pretty happy with my spend. It looks like some of the 3000 series graphics cards are in stock at overclockers too so maybe we'll start seeing graphics cards dropping in price. With intel entering the graphics card market, I wonder if we'll see some GPUs at a reasonable price soon.
I bought a used 5950x, in like-new condition, for $400. Feels good to be on top.
