An easy way to tell the difference between iOS 8 and iOS 9 during the setup process is that the keyboard is quite different. The iOS 8 keyboard is always in caps regardless of the state of the shift key, while the iOS 9 keyboard changes depending on the caps state, and the iOS 8 keyboard also uses white accents where iOS 9's keyboard uses darker grey accents.
I remember having my Air 2 when my mom bought it for me back when I was in 6th grade. 16GB Model but I carried it until 2022. This is so nostalgic because I remember it when it was on iOS 8 and I updated it on iOS 9 and kept updating it till iOS 15. Time flies so fast.
I do have 2 iPad Air 2’s 16gb WiFi only both running their original iOS 8.1! Black and gold. I remember back in 6th grade wishing my school would have the Air 2 instead of the old slow iPad 1/2/mini 1
I used to have a gold one just like this. It was 64gb WiFi only. I don’t see how 16gb was enough, even for back then. I loved that iPad. I miss it to this very day. It got stolen a few years ago sadly. Along with all my photos and other apps. Never been able to recover them.
The only 2 issues with the Air 2 is that it bends easily and it doesn't have a battery health indicator. In every other way, it's a perfect device. Truly one of THE apple devices
I wanted one of these so bad when it launched. I was a broke new dad at the time so i had other priorities. Might have to grab one for the collection now

When you get that second Air 2, are you going to do a Speedtest comparison between the two with iOS 8 versus iPadOS 15?
I remember how thin the Air 2 seemed at the time. And then I got an M4 iPad pro, and that's mad thin!
Oh no, not the HDR. Besides that, nice video
3:53 iPad Pro M2 is from 2022 not 2023
You should make a video about your iPad Pro m2!
