Finally, I read an intelligent comment from someone from the Balkan. Buddy its a macedonian monastery built by macedonian othodox priests. Yes it was part of albania only because after the balkan wars of 1918 macedonia was divided into four parts between its neighbours bulgaria greece serbia and albania. After world war 2 the monastery was brought back to its right territory. There were 100 000 macedonian partisans fighting for macedonian independence during world war 2 and there was no way that this monastery was going back to albania.

The part from the 5th to the 15th. Considering the fact that you are not native to the Balkans you came to already developed nations. There is a reason there are no Albanian toponyms in any country of the Balkans. The areas that Albanians inhabit today were historically inhabited by other groups, like for example Himara in southern Albania Northern Epirus was a region historically Greek that is why Himara is a Greek word with Greek meaning you just inherited the name . Other areas of Albania include Moscopole that was inhabited by Vlachs Moscopole is a Vlach word. Eastern Albania places such as Korca comes from the word Gorica Korica (Korca), Podgradec,Pustec,Mali Grad all of these places were inhabited by Slavs that is why the name derives from Slavic root. Areas in eastern Albania also are historically Slavic land that is why you have villages such as Radomir, regions such as Debar. These names mean nothing in Albanian these are all inherited. Other areas are Saranda,Dyrrachium,Gjorekaster which were towns inhabited by a mixed population of Greeks and Greek identifying Vlach who spoke their own language. Kosovo another place also all the toponyms are Serbian. The reason I am telling you this is because I want you to paint a PICTURE, that Albanians never had one PLACE where they lived the same way other ethnicites had cities, Albanians migrated from one corner to the next.This picture of nomadic illiterate people group, that lived in isolation due to their barbaric tendencies paint a picture of a group that has no culture and therefore no heritage and that is why today you dont have any Albanian heritage dating from this period of that time. The only period where Albanians have cooperated with other groups is in Skadar where a part of Albanians cooperated with Serbian noblemen serving the Venetian empire. This is where Skenderbeg who is half Albanian from his mothers side comes into question. Albanian culture did not identify religion, so there was no religion for much of that period of time with the exception of some people from Skadar (Shkoder) who adopted Christina Catholicism because the Venetians were also Catholic. The whole story about Orthodoxy is just a load of bull crap, orthodoxy was adopted during Byzantine times BUT again by a small number of people because I will repeat Albanians did not communicate with other groups so only 90 000 Albanians today are orthodox and all of them live in the historical Greek part of Albania that is Northern Epirus and some in Southern. It wasnt until the arrival of the Ottomans that the Albanian population got religion affiliated in all parts of their life. The Sultan promised the Albanian people land in exchange for adopting Islam, the majority accepted and they were given land to work in Montenegro Kosovo and Macedonia. That is why today all of the Albanians in these countries are all Muslim. Your imaginary story about Albanians building churches is ridiculous. Imagine this a primitive illiterate tribe that has never lived in Macedonia until the arrival of the Turks, a Muslim group, building monasteries is the MOST comedic thing I have ever heard hahahahahaha. That is the history of your people. These monasteries were all built by Macedonian priests Saint Naum ,Saint Jovan, and others who were extremely educated people who had the Cyrillic script in which they can spread their knowledge to their fellow people. Was the church formed by an organization associated with the Albanian people? NO. Is there anything that this monastery has associated with Albanians? Yes, it was part of independent Albania until King Zog in good faith gave it back to its rightful culture, the orthodox Macedonians that helped develop Christianity all over the region that was and now also majority is inhabited by Slavic groups who spoke Old Church Slavonic that identified accordingly to their geographical and traditional positioning. Let me explain to you about my people and in general of the past. Firstly Macedonians in the past were separated into small communities that lived over a certain geographic location. Like for example the people in the Mala Reka called themselves Mijaks, there were never Bulgarians or Serbs living in Macedonia but small communities that had an identity of their own. This identity is reflected in the architecture, if you go to the Mariovo region in Novaci Prilep Kavadarci villages you will find houses built entirely from stone, if you go to Demir Hisar houses built from the same material but a different look and layout, or Ljubojno and other villages and you have a sort of neo-classical architecture this is representative of the different Slavic communities that lived in Macedonia. In the past there were a lot of attempts and some successful to assimilate the people in these areas into the Serbian or Bulgarian national identity through the Orthodox church, in Macedonia operated both Serbian and Bulgarian. Each group of Macedonians had its own traditional folk costume that is why today in Macedonia there isn't a single folk costume to represent the people but different folk traditions and costumes because each group was unique, because these were small communities it was easy to manipulate their small culture and assimilate them into Serbs or Bulgarians due to the similar linguistic and religious similarities, including other areas of the region of Macedonia that were inhabited by similar groups like in Pirin and Agean. The bottom line is as much as those countries have influenced the culture of my country the people didnt feel the same, that is why different communities dreamt of having a country of their own, and thats how the Macedonian national awakening happened. We share a common history with Serbia and Bulgaria regarding the activities that happened in the past as all 3 share linguistic cultural religious similarity. The same way Catalonia and Basque in Spain share a common history and trait with Spain due to Catalan people not having a country of their own, the same way Serbia and Bulgaria share a common history with the people of Macedonia of which there are many people from all 3 countries that cooperate in the fields of every cultural manifestation. During the occupation of Macedonia from Bulgaria during word war 2 my grandfather was born and on his birth certificate it says nationality Bulgarian. I know my grandfather may he rest in peace is a proud Macedonian. If it wasnt for our friend Tito modern day Macedonia would be called southern Serbia and Macedonians, Serbs because that is how assimilation works, and if you are trying to paint the people of Macedonia as Bulgarians that is incorrect. Thankfully assimilation only works when groups are similar, so for example you cant assimilate a Macedonian into believing that he is Greek or Albanian because it needs to happen naturally such as the two groups already having cultural ties such as linguistic and religious similarities, having cultural similarities doesnt mean that two groups are actually one. If you use that logic then Macedonians must not be Macedonians but something else like for example Bulgarians then that is the same thing as saying Portugal is Spanish because there was once a union called the Iberian Union between the two countries, or Catalan people and everything associated with them is Spanish because they are unfortunate enough to not have a country of their own, or Kurdish people with Turks just because they are within the borders of Turkey. Let me repeat something I have nothing against nobody, you just need to get the ability to recognize right from wrong, because I see loads of stupid things that some Albanian websites post like for example Abraham Lincoln had Albanian heritage and other stupid stuff. Finally, I read an intelligent comment from someone from the Balkan. Now, the reason we Albanians are so passionate about this is b/c the slavic people of the balkans have been trying to end our existence.. Lets start by understanding your PEOPLE the first records of Albanians and the development of the GROUP. Starting from the language, there is no recorded version of Albanian ever existing in the Balkans no historical documents no inscriptions nothing, absolutely nothing. The language itself is not affiliated with any Greek or any Indo European language group such as Romance Germanic or Slavic, and finally the language for much of its history didnt have a written form or should I say alphabet. So you have these people that speak a language that is isolated from any other language that are illiterate, cant read cant write because they dont have an alphabet. This instantly destroys the claims that Albanians are Illyrian because unlike the Albanians the Illyrians spoke a language affiliated with THE ROMANCE group and had an alphabet.. So there you go, you have no ancient history, most likely you people migrated to the Balkans that explains why your language isn't mentioned in any inscriptions or books of the Ancient Greeks or Ancient Romans, and why you people were illiterate. According to genetic information most likely you came from Caucasia through Turkey. That is why you are illiterate because Albanians went from an environment where there was no civilization to an environment of developed nations.
Now LETS TALK about the medieval history. The part from the 5th to the 15th. Considering the fact that you are not native to the Balkans you came to already developed nations. There is a reason there are no Albanian toponyms in any country of the Balkans. The areas that Albanians inhabit today were historically inhabited by other groups, like for example Himara in southern Albania Northern Epirus was a region historically Greek that is why Himara is a Greek word with Greek meaning you just inherited the name . Other areas of Albania include Moscopole that was inhabited by Vlachs Moscopole is a Vlach word. Eastern Albania places such as Korca comes from the word Gorica Korica (Korca), Podgradec,Pustec,Mali Grad all of these places were inhabited by Slavs that is why the name derives from Slavic root. Areas in eastern Albania also are historically Slavic land that is why you have villages such as Radomir, regions such as Debar. These names mean nothing in Albanian these are all inherited. Other areas are Saranda,Dyrrachium,Gjorekaster which were towns inhabited by a mixed population of Greeks and Greek identifying Vlach who spoke their own language. Kosovo another place also all the toponyms are Serbian. The reason I am telling you this is because I want you to paint a PICTURE, that Albanians never had one PLACE where they lived the same way other ethnicites had cities, Albanians migrated from one corner to the next.This picture of nomadic illiterate people group, that lived in isolation due to their barbaric tendencies paint a picture of a group that has no culture and therefore no heritage and that is why today you dont have any Albanian heritage dating from this period of that time. The only period where Albanians have cooperated with other groups is in Skadar where a part of Albanians cooperated with Serbian noblemen serving the Venetian empire. This is where Skenderbeg who is half Albanian from his mothers side comes into question.
Albanian culture did not identify religion, so there was no religion for much of that period of time with the exception of some people from Skadar (Shkoder) who adopted Christina Catholicism because the Venetians were also Catholic. The whole story about Orthodoxy is just a load of bull crap, orthodoxy was adopted during Byzantine times BUT again by a small number of people because I will repeat Albanians did not communicate with other groups so only 90 000 Albanians today are orthodox and all of them live in the historical Greek part of Albania that is Northern Epirus and some in Southern. It wasnt until the arrival of the Ottomans that the Albanian population got religion affiliated in all parts of their life. The Sultan promised the Albanian people land in exchange for adopting Islam, the majority accepted and they were given land to work in Montenegro Kosovo and Macedonia. That is why today all of the Albanians in these countries are all Muslim.

That is the history of your people. These monasteries were all built by Macedonian priests Saint Naum ,Saint Jovan, and others who were extremely educated people who had the Cyrillic script in which they can spread their knowledge to their fellow people.

No, it is written in the Old Church Slavonic language Albanians didnt have an alphabet until the arrival of the Turks who along with Islam introduced the Arabic script. Was the church formed by an organization associated with the Albanian people? NO.
Is there anything that this monastery has associated with Albanians? Yes, it was part of independent Albania until King Zog in good faith gave it back to its rightful culture, the orthodox Macedonians that helped develop Christianity all over the region that was and now also majority is inhabited by Slavic groups who spoke Old Church Slavonic that identified accordingly to their geographical and traditional positioning.

Let me explain to you about my people and in general of the past. Firstly Macedonians in the past were separated into small communities that lived over a certain geographic location. Like for example the people in the Mala Reka called themselves Mijaks, there were never Bulgarians or Serbs living in Macedonia but small communities that had an identity of their own. This identity is reflected in the architecture, if you go to the Mariovo region in Novaci Prilep Kavadarci villages you will find houses built entirely from stone, if you go to Demir Hisar houses built from the same material but a different look and layout, or Ljubojno and other villages and you have a sort of neo-classical architecture this is representative of the different Slavic communities that lived in Macedonia. In the past there were a lot of attempts and some successful to assimilate the people in these areas into the Serbian or Bulgarian national identity through the Orthodox church, in Macedonia operated both Serbian and Bulgarian.
Each group of Macedonians had its own traditional folk costume that is why today in Macedonia there isn't a single folk costume to represent the people but different folk traditions and costumes because each group was unique, because these were small communities it was easy to manipulate their small culture and assimilate them into Serbs or Bulgarians due to the similar linguistic and religious similarities, including other areas of the region of Macedonia that were inhabited by similar groups like in Pirin and Agean. The bottom line is as much as those countries have influenced the culture of my country the people didnt feel the same, that is why different communities dreamt of having a country of their own, and thats how the Macedonian national awakening happened. We share a common history with Serbia and Bulgaria regarding the activities that happened in the past as all 3 share linguistic cultural religious similarity. The same way Catalonia and Basque in Spain share a common history and trait with Spain due to Catalan people not having a country of their own, the same way Serbia and Bulgaria share a common history with the people of Macedonia of which there are many people from all 3 countries that cooperate in the fields of every cultural manifestation. During the occupation of Macedonia from Bulgaria during word war 2 my grandfather was born and on his birth certificate it says nationality Bulgarian. I know my grandfather may he rest in peace is a proud Macedonian. If it wasnt for our friend Tito modern day Macedonia would be called southern Serbia and Macedonians, Serbs because that is how assimilation works, and if you are trying to paint the people of Macedonia as Bulgarians that is incorrect.
Thankfully assimilation only works when groups are similar, so for example you cant assimilate a Macedonian into believing that he is Greek or Albanian because it needs to happen naturally such as the two groups already having cultural ties such as linguistic and religious similarities, having cultural similarities doesnt mean that two groups are actually one. If you use that logic then Macedonians must not be Macedonians but something else like for example Bulgarians then that is the same thing as saying Portugal is Spanish because there was once a union called the Iberian Union between the two countries, or Catalan people and everything associated with them is Spanish because they are unfortunate enough to not have a country of their own, or Kurdish people with Turks just because they are within the borders of Turkey.
Let me repeat something I have nothing against nobody, you just need to get the ability to recognize right from wrong, because I see loads of stupid things that some Albanian websites post like for example Abraham Lincoln had Albanian heritage and other stupid stuff. Just type on the internet and you will see even Jesus Christ had Albanian heritage. These websites target audiences like you who are naive enough to believe this non-sense. The websites or facebook posts earn money with each click you make on the internet that is why they put titles like that because those titles bring in clicks to their website, so they can attract people like you that will believe this totally made up-story its called "fake news". Nationalism teaches people ignorance because I can sit all day here typing history lessons that you can easily find anywhere, and it will still not go through the thick skulls of some people.

Not everything you see on those websites is real, if somebody typed Cyrillic is the ancient Albanian script dont believe that page. Go to a library find an international book written by an international historian about Balkan history and read it or a travelogue. That is the only explanation I have as to how you or any other person can believe what you are saying. I hope you can fight your inner-nationalistic tendency and find the light that everything you have been guided to believe is just that a belief, nothing correct.
