    In Canada, Walmart sells Liviva organic Shirataki noodles with oat fiber, 400g pouch for $3.97. Yes, same funky smell, but just rinse it under cold water, drain well, then heat in a non-stick skillet on high for a few minutes to 'dry' them out. This helps your sauces stick better, and the noodles absorb the flavors well too. I use them in everything, but do NOT put them in a soup you plan to freeze (add before serving), as it changes the texture...lesson I learned the hard way, lol. I've tried many brands over the years, but these are my favorite. Macros : 100g serving is 15 cals/ 4 carbs/ 3 fiber= 1 net carb. Love you two!❤

    I rinse mine in a plastic collander and let them drain. Then I put the whole collander inserted into a large bowl into my microwave. I nuke them for 90 seconds and they come out dry with all of the water in the bowl that’s underneath the collander..

    That looks AMAZING!! I cannot wait to make it this week. I have sczechuan pepper and thai basil. As for the miracle noodles, I found the "miracle noodle" brand on Amazon that I love and is far less stinky compared to what we have had in the past. They also have different types of noodles and 'rice'. AND, I have not tried them yet but they have some that are already flavored with various sauces like Thai Peanut, etc. Maybe that could be another video - trying their various versions?

    I'm curious as to if the texture has changed because of the way you cooked them. My biggest issue with shirataki noodles is that they tend to be on the rubbery side.

    Looks wonderful! I must be fortunate with the konjak noodles I can buy here. I just rinse them well and the smell is gone. I do boil them at least 5-10 to soften them more than anything before using them...I personally don't like them so firm. I don't find that they 'absorb' much flavour...the texture just doesn't work that way like normal wheat pasta. However, I've made caronara tagliatelli and other recipes. Works well. I definitely will be trying your recipe. Looks so good!

    • @pinehillart
      @pinehillart 5 месяцев назад +1

      I’ve never found that boiling them helps to soften them. The rubbery texture is a turn off for me.

    • @misottovoce
      @misottovoce 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@pinehillart That is true...mine do seem less 'rubbery' when I do boil them and even less so when I have the second portion the next day (I store them in water in the refridgerator). Still, they do maintain a certain typical texture.

    I get these from Costco exact same brand with NO SMELL. You can even use them without rinsing them or dry frying them at all, and no smell or fishy taste or anything like that. In the past, yes, smelly, now? no. Weird that yours have that old smell. Costco sells them in boxes of six, when they have them which is now and then.

Ignore the haters in the comments! 💗 And on a shirataki-note; I've only ever tried to rinse them properly and then boiling them, then throwing them into a Bolognese or some other sauce, but I will try to dry-fry them and see if there's a different, because I never had that fishy taste after boiling them. Thank you for your videos! 🤩

      I’d say they are pretty chewy

      The texture is improved with dry cooking but honestly the draw for these is the fact they are so low in calories and carbs, lol. They are chewy. Check out the Noodle Revolution noodles, you can buy 1 package on amazon to try them. We like the texture of those

    Could you use uncooked shrimp till they got pink for a more tender shrimp dish?

      These shrimp are raw, not cooked. They sauté very tender.

    I have a question. I love you both and find your videos both informative and entertaining! My question is this: How can I tell if I am in ketosis. I have lost over 40 pounds so far, but seem to have reached a plateau. How do I get past this? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

      In the beginning you can use the urinalysis ketosis test strips but they only measure excess ketones and after a while your body will know how to regulate them so they won’t show up as excess. Blood testing is the only way to know for sure, we don’t test. We just eat around 20-25 net carbs a day. We are relaxed.

    I’m doing it! I bought this type of noodle when they first came out and was so afraid of the taste i opened one bag and couldn’t do it. BUT knowing Emily’s dislike of strong smells…I am convinced! I am going to buy them. I want to make a low carb peanut sauce 🤤 😊Love you ladies! 💋💋

      @@deniselovesglitter I’ve not made it yet but I have been looking on line to see if there is an easy recipe. I don’t know if Sarah and Emily have a recipe or not 🤔

    Love you both! Wondering why xanthun gum and not corn starch?

    • @anoldladi
      @anoldladi 5 месяцев назад +3

      Corn is a carb-heavy grain. It is generally GMO, in order to let farms spray crop with heavy herbicide. Most keto eaters avoid corn, even as in cornstarch.

      Corn starch is heavy on carbs, so can’t fit into a keto diet

    • @ketotwins
      @ketotwins  5 месяцев назад +1

      as others have mentioned it’s got a lot of carbs, around 7 per tablespoon. If you can fit that in to your lifestyle then add a little :)
