- I had the opportunity to visit Reentel, which is the company behind Cabking, Hi-Tech Diamond, Inland Craft, and Tumble Bee! I hung there all day, got to visit with all the amazing folks there and was able to have a lapidary dream day by playing with so many pieces of lapidary equipment, a few of them I have never used before! We cut, shaped, and polished many stones and had a lot of fun with a piece of fordite! Which is, for those who don't know, paint! Its taken from automobile factories where they paint cars and the gunks up in layers and well, can be unbelievable! I had such a fun day there and hope you all enjoy this video!

That place is AWESOME! Can't wait to see the cabs you make from the materials you got to take home. So cool! Thank you for sharing this with us.✌️🤠
Thanks for coming along!
That turquoise came out amazing! I had no idea you could use the dust from it to make a composite! Thank you!
I learned about it too that day!
@@AgateDad I have some Sleeping Beauty Turquoise paid an are and a leg for... Have you ever heard of Mookite? It's from Australia. When I and If I can go to the rock and gem show this year in Michigan I will pick you up a slab! It's beautiful with Dendrites! Comes in many colors from purple, tan, pink, red and a dark mustard color. Comes from the Mookite River. Check it out!
Good video Taylor!! There is natural turquoise that is as blue as the composite you cut. It’s called lander turquoise. Keep them coming. I never get tired of watching.😎
The leather tilt polisher was amazing!
😮❤ what a thrilling experience!
It's fitting that Fordite is sometimes called Detroit Agate or Motor City Agate. 🤪
Looks like a LOT of fun!
Lots!
Looks like paradise!
🌴 absolutely!
Love, love, love Fordite. Especially the story behind it. I have a couple of really nice pieces of it.

Love Fordite. I have corvite Fordite cab. I like the history of Fordite. All the different layers of auto paint is neat. Just to think it's a thing of the past now. Nice job on your Fordite!
Awesome videos. Can't wait to see more soon. 😁❤️❤️
You get to do all the fun stuff, while I am getting paid for watching you lol!
That looked like a whole bunch of fun! I would love to go in there and spend tons of money lol. Now, I just need to find the tons of money. Great video!
What a great place to go. They should sell tickets! I loved all the toys and uou demo'd them well. Thanks for sharing!
It looked like there were metallic layers in that Fordite, gotta love the 1950's & 60's popular car colors. Seeing as it's paint wouldn't putting a clear coat on it be appropriate? Fun day in Candyland for sure.
Awesome!
🤘🤘
Wowza.!!! I wouldn’t want to go home👍👍 !!
It was hard to leave 😭
Thank you for the awesome tour!! I want everything!!! 😂
There was sooo much goodness there ❤️
Great video I took love green colored rocks especially turquoise.

It was the best!
I love that turquoise cabochon. That's beautiful. 😁❤️❤️
Wow you’ve become such a pro, congratulations💖🙏💯
Definitely not a pro 😂 maybe someday
I'm from Detroit, but never heard of Fordite. Now I want some.
What a rock lover’s playground! I had never heard of fordite before until I saw your Instagram post. So I’ve been looking at ways to get some rough and what’s interesting is that while there’s plenty for sale, people don’t seem too forthcoming about how they got it. I guess you have to Know A Guy?
Yep! There’s a fair amount on the market that’s collected from run down/abandoned factories, so not the most legal ways of acquiring, so yep, everyone “knows a guy”. I’ve got a chunk from the corvette factory. Too scared to do anything to it!
@@GeodeCrackerCollector is this where you succumb to peer pressure?😂
I bought mine off a Etsy store. You can get cabs or a slab of it to work yourself
That looked like a lot of fun in there! too bad you couldn’t set up camp in there and stay for a weekend lol!
Haha I know right?!
Absolutely stunning!! That place is amazing 👍👌
Heck yeah!
Heck yeah!
I would be there all day too. So. Freaking. Clean! ♥️
It was such a great day, can’t stop thinking about it 😂

I love Fordite aka Detroit agate.
Love this!!! Can we buy any of it? Lol. ❤❤❤
The rockhounds amusement park, how fun...glad you had a good time showing us all the cool toys...that angle cab is now on my wish-list. Another great informative and fun video.
Yeah the slant lap was extremely impressive!
♥️💥👍👍👍👍
What is fordite?? So beautiful thanks for taking us along!!
Fordite is paint 🎨 usually from auto factories (car paint buildup)
Did you think it was as big as it was!? I swear it’s like the tardis up in there!
I couldn’t believe how far back it went! It was so cool!
Wow, fun. The second green does it look like some copper? Not sure...
👍👏❤️
Hi Taylor, that was an interesting video of some of the equipment available and how well it works. ThAt is a great way to trial equipment.
So which have you put your order in for. 😂😂 or have you made a priority list. I think I might be psychic as I I can see a small loan in your future. 😜
Keep Safe & Keep Rockin
Wow
Lucky you. Can anyone get a tour like you?
You’d have to ask them, I have no idea
I'd never heard of fordite before, it is so cool! I mean how does that even happen?
So it's layers of paint? How weird. Very cool.
When I use the RUclips translator, "cabking" became "the King of the cab"... and I rotfl
HAHAHA! Too funny!
That’s awesome 🤣
Hello,,,, New friend and subscriber from Samar Philippines sending my support Sir,,,
Thanks SO much!
i want to live in that workshop hahahahaha
Right! 😂
The blue stone looks like ocean picture stone.
The one that looks like a face. Check out Dan Hurd, he has the last ocean picture stone claim.
Did you get to take the pieces you worked home?
I did ❤️
Do you sell online cabochons?
What is the composite material?
Not sure tbh
Fordite? That is layers of paint from the Detroit Ford plant.
Where do you find Fordite?
I was told this was from crystler
It’s from the car painting area of the factory. Layers that built up over decades the people harvest it.
It’s rare and limited.
Some dealers at rock shows have it for sale, it can get expensive....
It's fun to work with...
Face or a butterfly
Shame on you, @ 5:31, you're grinding fordite with NO MASK OR EYE PROTECTION.
Shame on me? Really? Lighten up.
🤘👍
Love, love, love Fordite. Especially the story behind it. I have a couple of really nice pieces of it.
