Old disabled house bound dusty rusty rockhound here: the amethyst nugget is Awsome!!! Fractures in rock just tell their stories like wrinkles on our faces.
My 7 year old daughter and I love watching your videos together. They’re great and your voice is calming (not overly enthusiastic & annoying to listen to). Thank you!!!
Fantastic capture!! that's very interesting cutting open Agates That rock and minerals is a fantastic texture, thank you very much for polishing up these agates!! Have a wonderful day🥰🥰!
I like when he explains his reasoning for why he’s cutting an agate, a certain way. It’s really helpful so I don’t have to learn by ruining a ton of agates.
🎶 I like the way you do that right thurr (Right thurr) 🎶 So from a distance, the fractures actually look pretty. Like butterfly wings. Everything in life has a fracture or two.
I just found your videos and I love them .I always collected rocks and now I see that their are even treasures with in the rocks ,so awesome and beautiful
Very Beautiful..did bring boxes of lake Superior agates with me immigrating to Spain . I can see I have my days in my reinterment full. A little knowledge about those rings they are about year rings on trees . Except it has taken about 10.000 years to form one ring !😮
Cold Mountain Jasper! Cut some. These are cool, our weather has been so messed up here have I not got out this summer. Have a good weekend happy hounding.
Those turned out spectacular! Even that little amethyst nodule! How neat was that? And dractures happen with all rock, especially ones rhat were forged in fire! So they cant br helped but you dealy with them really nicely! Awesome polishes on all of them! Thanks Taylor!
Hi agate dad. First time checking out your channel. I love that you have such an interest in hounding and meddling with cutting them open. Those are great specimens that you've cut open. I'm california but hope to come out east to hound later this year. We'll just saying hello keep up the good work
To each their own on the fractures haha. I love them as nice accents/natural processes. But if I were to be going for a perfect “window cut” if you will, then totally on board with working those fractures out. 🤙
You made dull stones into beauty, fun to see it . I love the little Cristal fractured stones. Do you sell them? I could make a beautiful necklace with them
Great work with all three of those stones! Have you ever tried polishing on cloth wheels with buffing compound (like Zam) as a final step? The Genie has an attachment with two wheels that quickly spins onto the right shaft to do this. In my very limited experience it improves the shine noticeably.
The one with the Amethyst, would look beautiful if you cut little slabs and make a pair of earrings!!! I can only imagine how Gorgeous they would be if light went thru them!! All of them are really beautiful!!! Thank You!!💜✨🪨💎🪨✨💜
Right??? So I am actually working on your agate and everything this weekend lol I don’t have the heart to cut that red lace agate, it’s so beautiful as is. Send me an email if you have any suggestions with that stuff!
@@AgateDad I wouldn't cut the red one. It's just so awesome. As for the rest, I can't remember what I sent you. Just the agate I want the face polish on. The rest is up to you. 😁
Hiya! Concerning those fractures that keep bugging you, there is something that might help. You can try to heat them in the oven, and when they are hot enough, rub a white candle on it. The wax will creep into the cracks, improving the agates A LOT. You will still see them, but the end result might be way better. You may want to do this step before polishing, so no polishing powder gets in, and maybe again after polishing. Give it a go;)!
With the bad fractures showing up, would it have been worthwhile to consider going back to the saw and trimming a little more off rather than grinding down?
Love these cutting videos, Dude i think these fractures happen (because of the temprature) and why this happen is because agates are sensitive to sudden temprature changes and while you are sawing the gem it heats up and suddenly, water cools it SOOoo fractures happen :(
I’ve wondered that too but if you pay attention to the exteriors, which it’s super easy to see on the dark nodule, there are fractures on the outside of them. Those large fractures are already there. Sometimes, there is fractures on the cut face and they are micro, those are from the saw blade. The big ones are natural though.
That first one is technically ametrine. It has both purple and golden coloring in it. The golden color is citrine. Which makes it that much cooler if you ask me
I live pin Europe and would like to buy the 5 inch cutting machine from High Tech, but I cannot find any information. Can you send me some data to help me further? Would be nice, I love your work 😅😅😅

The last agate, the halves together, make a perfect butterfly!😊
I couldn't agree MORE!!! That's the second thing I said to my hubby (first was to suggest you cut a couple slices) !!!
🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋
He should mount it with a hinge between the halves and springs so they could flap...
Right? That's the first thing I thought of😀👍
Thought the same! Great Minds!!!🙂

The one looks like a butterfly when you hold it together beautiful.
All are beautiful. The way you hold the fractured one together it looks like butterfly wings.
They all turned out gorgeous! My favorites were the grey banded one but that surprise amethyst was awesome !
🙌
The way you were holding the second agate made it look like a butterfly.
Very beautiful and awesome finds. That last one looked like a butterfly when you had the two pieces side by side right after you cut it....
Hi i am Emerson from Brazil. A reality like your job is very interesting I have agatas too
I'm sure many would love to rock hunt in your country!
Love your name, by the way.💙

The amethyst was gorgeous. I think the biggest one would make a beautiful butterfly 🦋 if joined. Beautiful pieces. ❤️❤❤
That amethyst is amazing, looks like there's also clear quartz and prasiolite. 3 colors in one!
I like the fractures, adds character.
I just found your videos and I love them .I always collected rocks and now I see that their are even treasures with in the rocks ,so awesome and beautiful
Sweet! A stunning polishing job! So beautiful!
A few imperfections happen, the beauty of nature is awesome.
I absolutely love it when I find a striking rock! It almost feels like I'm looking into it; kinda like I'm looking at a movie or photographs 💕

A lot of my favorites are on the shelf behind me in the video

Those turned out great. I thought the cracks would be so bad on the dark one but all of them came out beautiful.
Thanks!

That amethyst nodule was such a treat!
Right?!
What kind of mineral would you like to see worked in a fututre video??
Galaxy stones
I found some Anorthosite on a recent trip to the North Shore. Would love to see what you would do with it.
Fire agate
Some shiny Hematite.
Fire opal. From Jordan
That ametyst looks a bit like a diamond after polishing...💍. I like all the stages you film, the hounding, cutting and polishing!
I’m glad 🙂
Awesome! Beautiful pieces!
Absolutely Beautiful!! All of them, even with the fractures!!!🪬🩷🧿🪨🧿🩷🪬
Awesome finds!! 💎
Awesome video as always
Thanks Jeff!
The amethyst nodule looked like the best Hershey Kiss ever!!
😂 love it!
The amethyst looks good!
You made dull stones into beauty, fun to see it . I love the little Cristal fractured stones. Do you sell them? I could make a beautiful necklace with them
Does the cutting process ever cause or exacerbate the cracks?
I’m sure if you push too hard and the stones get too hot then they can make the cracks worse
Great work with all three of those stones! Have you ever tried polishing on cloth wheels with buffing compound (like Zam) as a final step? The Genie has an attachment with two wheels that quickly spins onto the right shaft to do this. In my very limited experience it improves the shine noticeably.

That 2nd one is magic, it reminds me of a church window
Beautiful sharing 😊
I was not expecting amethyst! Whoa. Are the fractures natural or caused by cutting? Lovely agates Taylor. ❤🎸🏏

Outstanding
I do enjoy your gemstone work I have subscribed And I watch

The big one is so book marked it would make nice butterfly wings.
So beautiful 👌👏
Thank you!
What alternative rock slicer will u recommend for a beginner? Here in Philippines i cannot find the rock slicer that u have.. 😢
Do you ever find fluorite? Fluorite and jasper are my favorites. Have to add agates to the list 😁
I just found some today
Very Beautiful 🤩 😊
Thanks a lot 😊
What do you do with the amethyst nodule? Just curious...
I plan to put it on Etsy today
Nice agate!
The Butterfly stone ❤
