This is the car that made me a Mercedes fan. My friends parents bought an E320 when the car was launched back in 2003. I was in grade 7. I'm now 33 and still want one. I tried looking for an immaculate used model but many were abused. I ended up getting a 2014 W212 E350 Bluetec which I love. It was still in maintenance plan and has more tech. But it isn't a W211. For me, the W211 has a better ride quality and is more comfortable and refined. The W212 is reliable but for me it just doesn't drive as well as a comparative W211.
Really enjoyed the video. The W211 - particularly the facelift W211 is one of the nicest looking E-class in my opinion. Dad has a 2007 W211 E200 Kompressor that I've driven a few times, and I enjoy driving it, although I think the E200 Kompressor is a bit underpowered. The E280 is probably the sweet spot for a car that size.
I had the w211 E240 with the excellent M112 engine. This one has the M272 with the balance shaft gear issues. If it's not been done - an expensive repair is on the horizon........

The W211 is a good E class. The W210, with the ovaloid lights, that art deco look, found in BMW Z3 as well, does work for me. But the car rusted very badly, the front lights leaked and discoloured. /So this W211 seems to accelerate a little more swiftly than the W123 300D and tick quite a few of the right boxes. "We" like the W123 and W124s, eg, but when you drive down a W211 280 it performs sooo much better and differently to those 80's and early 90's cars. Utterly different. And certainly a lot "easier," quieter, better designed seats. How it pains one to say so! :-)
Lovely refined drive, as a classic merc lover, the interior is very uninspiring. A see of grey with a bit of plastic looking wood, was the interior taken out a Camry😂
The W211 design has really stood the test of time. Both the interior and exterior look modern, timeless!
The E55-AMG in this shape was brutal 🎉❤

I agree
Wow, would love to go for a drive in this elegant beauty.
Looks extremely comfortable
Demmit, what a beauty.
I have a 2009 E 220 CDI. I thoroughly enjoy it and will not sell it.
The W211 is the best-looking E-class ever. I sold my 2007 E63 AMG ten years ago. So stupid, I still miss it.
Great vid thanks for sharing
Thank you!
Always liked the E class especially that series, but I've always wondered which Mercedes are the most reliable of all..
Probably a w123/w124

The offset steering wheel was always a killer for me. The best or nothing was just a slogan
I didn't notice that, perhaps the one you drove had been in an accident and been poorly repaired.
@@oldmercguy I think its a quirk of the W211 and W212. Slightly to the left on RHD cars. Never been in any others.

Where are you it looks beautiful, I’ve always owned the older mercs , solid cars currently have a clk 5 cylinder cdi , superb car 💪🏼
We're located in Chelsea, Nelson Mandela Bay, South Africa. Take a look at my warehouse in this video: ruclips.net/video/rdRLNKTR8cQ/видео.html
This Merc is probably still one with the M272 motor with the timing chain issue
The W211, last of the elegant MBs. After that MB lost the plot.
I think the pre-facelift W212 was the peak so 2010 - i have them both so i love the 211 too!
@@tonychavez2083 personally I find the W212 too angular, I prefer the curves of the W211, especially the rear, very elegant.
Will this one be for sale?
this suits you Bella
My uncle has a 2008 model 320 cdi. It quick
Where do you advertise your cars for sale ?

one of the last "proper" saloons
