This man is the turning point in our society.
Millions of us hope so.
I hope so. He speaks for the general population much more than our current government ever has.
I just hope he doesn't get sniped like Corbyn.
I really hope not!! Listen to Yuri bezmanov , and soljenitsyn !!
jeez - I really hope so...
Mick Lynch has made absolute mincemeat of the right-wing media and I am totally here for it! 👏👏👏
"right-wing media" 😂😂😂
@@stuartbrown3070 it is a majority right wing media you bell piece
Indeed! Unfortunately some 🤡 Brexshitters and Sun, Telelaugh, Daily Fail mouth breathers, are unable to decipher/compute that how right wing the BBC and so called journalists like Matt have let them get away with it, Marr along with Ms Kuesenberg sucked up to Pinocchio
@@stuartbrown3070
Yes RW media, govt & muppets who support the greedy rich & don't know the difference between Left & Right.🙄
@@stuartbrown3070 yes calling the BBC “right wing” 😂
Mick Lynch should start his own party. Labour has failed us. I would vote for him.
As would I
Once proportional representation has been established feel free to do that. Until then all you'd achieve is splitting the left of centre vote and letting Truss win the General Election. At the next election we all really need to vote for the person most likely to defeat the sitting Tory in their constituency.
@@johnm2012
I fully understand the logic and pragmatism of what you are saying. However, Keir Starmer continues at pace to expel all dissenters from the Labour party and won't even support the unions who are only standing up to achieve fairness for their members who have been screwed for the past decade.
I don't want to see the Tories replaced by another right wing government that happens to be called Labour. I am an idealist, but I believe an opposition party should be exactly that, an antidote to the current situation. The chance for real change. If that makes them unelectable, then perhaps the electorate haven't suffered enough yet.
@@bigmoose1961 I used to be an idealist. I'm old enough now to realise that idealism is just a dream. I've now evolved into a pragmatist because all the idealism in the world amounts to nothing if you remain in opposition. I'm not looking for a Labour landslide. I just want a non-Tory government and proportional representation. Once that's achieved I don't really care what happens to the Labour party. It can split in two if it wants to - I'll leave that to the idealists to decide. The point is that on issues that really matter to the country they'll probably agree anyway.
Edit: I hope you're listening to James O'Brien's show at the moment.
@@bigmoose1961 >"Perhaps the electorate haven't suffered enough yet."
Do you honestly believe that there has to be more suffering?
Really like this guy. It's incredible how poorly the national media drones cope with a bloke with a regional accent who is unflappable, knows his stuff, and uses that to stick up for working people.
Almost everyone now commenting on economics today was educated in the monoculture of the neoclassical synthesis. This includes economists, politicians, and journalists. It's very difficult to break out of that straitjacket.
I kept saying this, I didn't vote for brexit and Mike Lynch did.
But Mike could convince me his reasoning, unlike the fake patriots in government.
@@geeman.8081 Yeah I know what you mean. I disagree with him on that issue, and I thought his comments about Ukraine and China in that New Statesman interview were crass (though not as compromising as I'm sure the media will try and make them). I admire what he's doing regardless.
Absolutely!
@@jayarava The economists, politicians, and journalists have not been educated at all. They've been indoctrinated. Education is extremely rare in modern society, because it inherently threatens the dominance of the wealthy elite.
All I'm hearing is people not listening. Not one single one of those journalists took on board what he said. Just twisted it and rephrased what he was saying to fit their agenda.
That's what passes for journalism now.
Totally! They can't hear truth or sense any more if they ever did!!!
There's no such thing as a journalist anymore, only talking heads and story tellers.

When I retired in March 2014, for that last year, I finally made £10 an hour. I was a qualified mobile crane operator, a qualified banksman slinger and held an hgv 1 licence. My wages without overtime were just £20280. WITH OVERTIME, I finally earned £30,000. And my work pension? Zero. I am now expected to live on a state pension of £10,000 a year. Mick Lynch is spot on.
I can see where you are coming from i was an h g v class 2 driver ,i never made ten pounds per hour untill i drove a van on multi drop in 2020 , doing over 100/150 drops per day you never stopped.thank god im retired .

That is abhorrent.
Yf you cut pension and cut wages what will people do when they have to retire. They will only have state benefit to liver on costing the state tax payer more NOT less
Once again, Mick shows what a legend he is; once again, "journalists" show what bellends they are.
Journalists is a strong word for these muppets
They’re use to rehashing Tory press releases as fact, never fiction. Anyway, who watches the BBC now anyway?
Channel 4 News, with Sky - YES, Sky, no longer Murdoch’s mouthpiece, has been reborn. Praise be to independent news!😉👍
These people are the 'top' political journalists at our public broadcaster. Depressing.
Fucking light weights.
I think it may be dawning on them, they are not.
They all seem to have drunk too much of the Tory Kool-Aid.
Can Mick Lynch be the Leader we as the people need? I'm watching....
He IS THE LEADER of the RMT Union, democratically elected by Union members.
Funny that, ordinary working people coming together and choosing a leader from among themselves to represent them on a larger platform and broader scale.
Hmmm
I've never seens this man caught off guard once.
Mick Lynch is the only person pointing out the real problems that Britain is facing.
Labour are pointing it out constantly, but people don't listen.
He's never mentioned IMMIGRANTS
Everything he says applies worldwide
And if Starmer won't say it Mick Lynch will!
I enjoyed this on novara first time round. The point on corporation tax re-investing in staff is spot on, never understood the fear at corporate level of investing In people
Not fear. They are just profiteering and making short term decisions to maximise profits now. F the future. As far as they are concerned, presumably we will all be living in a burning hellscape in the future...
How many companies have you run?
@@stuartbrown3070 if people have more expendable income, would they spend more in the economy?
@@stuartbrown3070 I haven’t - however I have been in a low pay yet profitable high margin organisation that was made up of two divisions. Having seen the discrepancy between the R&D, Marketing and Training spend across the two divisions and the impact that has had I am confident that what Mick Lynch is saying isn’t far off the mark.
@@joeleaton8752 You amaze me! Someone pontificating about what someone else must do that has no experience of having that person's role.
You assert your statement is justified because you were employed in a company with 2 divisions without equitable division of resources - were you privy to the business case or even basic reason for this pattern of investment?
I'm so happy this man is the head of the RMT union, they need someone like him
With the greatest respect its not just the RMT who need him we all need him to attempt to explain to all those who doff their cap at the elitists running this Government that they have had it too good for too long, serious change is needed

Mick Lynch, man of the reality and person who is protecting the public (labourers and people with low wages) also he is a real a British for Future of Britain.
Mick lynch is a delight to watch 👌
It's unbelievable how the media in this country just tow the Tory party lines of politics. Great to see someone challenging the agenda 👏 again, well done Mick. Keep up the great work.
The Labour Party is simply the Tory Party in drag. The Americanization of British and Australian politics has been happening since Thatcher, where both parties are merely tools of the capitalist oligarchicy cheered on by a corporate MSM.
And yet the Tories want to rid of the BBC...as do the left. Funny that
That's because murdock & soros own media & sleeping with the globalists and own our govenments

Damn Mike Lynch is whooping the right wing media ass! They act like he's stupid but unfortunately for them he's not!
Well said Mr. Lynch. Since the 1970s power has shifted from workers to shareholders, the obsession with creating shareholder value has given us a rentier economy where if you’re lucky enough to own property and shares you have disposable income to burn without having to worry about wages. We need to start taxing wealth, not income. The UK is unique amongst rich countries in not having an ownership tax, a tax where those who own property in places like Kensington for example pay a much higher tax than someone living in say Blackburn where property is much cheaper. This is a tax that cannot be avoided by the rich who normally find a way around paying it through clever accounting and offshoring.
Based and Georgist
@@alphamikeomega5728 What does that mean?
Ooh. Straight off the TUC/Labour manifesto. And do you know the sad thing? Only saps like you believe it and will hand the Tories another term in office. Start thinking for yourself.
@@Swindonboy56 It might have something to do with the window tax levied during the Georgian Era in the 1700s, where the tax increased on the amount of windows you had, idea being richer people had more windows, ergo they would pay more
@@bestbeloved2704 Its kinda like that but based on land value instead of windows.
Wtf happened to BBC journalism?
Thatcher
@@davidjones500 she was the worst PM for the commoners everrrrrrrr.
It's not a new phenomenon
How utterly vacuous those three young BBC journalists were - they assumed that they must be intelligent, attractive and 'professional' (and more intelligent, attractive and professional than a mere railwayman), and that they possessed certain knowledge as well as the ability to think even as they trotted out the same tired talking-points that one has been hearing again and again from every interviewer on the broadcasting media.
Yes and the three journalists worked in a rehearsed fashion like kids mastering a trampoline. When Mick knocked one down the other two jumped in to pick him up and get him bouncing again.
Oh he’s sooo good! Put the three Tòraì bots, straight back into their box and taught them basic economics. Hilarious!
Tá an ceart agat. Tuigeann sé gur is grá leo na Toraigh. Alba Abú!
You are correct. He understands that they love the Tòraì. Up Scotland.
Mick Lynch , the voice of reason ..Shame that Tory believers don't believe rather than keep reading their Big Brother Press .
This man talks total sense , unlike the majority of self centred politicians.....👍
I don't think they got it even after being educated!
They just pretend to be smart and understand the magical religion of 'economics' and its natural laws like every other media pundit and stooge in this world
Mick lynch isn't just speaking for rmt members he's speaking for us all and right wing media doesn't know how to respond to him
I would seriously do my homework if if I was a journalist faced with mick lynch.
Lol
Unfortunately the "journalists" seem to be dancing to their employers tune.
What is going to happen is the media will stop interviewing mick lynch and his like minded to keep the working class voice quiet
I will never tire of this man's honest straight-to-the-point speaking.
He's calling out the endemic corruption we have become accustomed to!!
:)
So measured and calm. He absolutely destroys the journalists and the main stream media.
Mick Lynch is an absolute legend! He's a better representative for labour than the leader of the Labour Party...
It's pure logic this man is talking.
Utter tosh. Great interview, Mick and newscast show why we need people asking questions without agendas
Mick is fantastic but to be fair the journalists did a pretty good job of making fools of themselves without Mick's help !!!
Mick Lynch for Prime Minister.
Here is a man I would trust to do things for the people.
Mr Mick Lynch successfully explaining his job role and that of Sir Keir Starmer’s.
Where has the Labour leader been all these years? Hiding from worker disputes and happily accepting the Tory Press Barons characterisation of underpaid workers as inflation boosters, depriving fellow workers of a decent quality of life?
Wow! Just Wow!
He s been waiting for Labour to get a 15 point lead in the opinion polls.
Every time I listen to this chap, my confidence in society is a little more restored.
I love this man (😍 Mick Lynch), even though he is a Brexiteer (😞). Should not be the Labour Party raising these issues on the media? He will be the right leader for the LP and not the (right wing) of Stamer.
So he is a thick gammon if we believed the screaming from remainers for last 6 yrs…👍🤡🌍
They realised they can't take him on one-on-one and win, so now they're speaking over him and attacking his ideas in threes now. Pathetic.
Thank you to Mick Lynch and thank you for the video 👌💪😊
When Mick says re- balance...I say re volution 👍👍👍
Like the French revolution
These "journalists" have no understanding of the basic concepts they are debating!
Well said Mick Lynch, 👏 continue to speak the truth 👍
Well said!
Thank god for Mick Lynch and others , speaking up for workers
I totally disagree with your obnoxious headline. Mick didn't try to make fools of antibody I don't think he's that sort of bloke.
The 3 BBC radio interviewers had questions that Mick answered honestly and by doing that he eventually got them on his side.
I believe Mick can teach a lot of folks how to be a gentleman with his demeanour and honesty.
Three clowns, and one unbought fella telling the truth 👍🏼
Totally agree with Mick, nobody wants these Boris Johnson’s 🤡🤡
Loved the section where he inferred they were not the real media. He really put them in their place .
Try 20 years at least for below inflation salary increases for the working class! It's not greed why folks want higher wages; it's need!
What a brilliant man
Ben Kentish: "Quite a lot of experts saying this"??!! Do me a favour, Ben!! Way to go Mick Lynch, you're a star!!
Can we have him as prime minister?

Mick Lynch is fantastic, keep on knocking um out the park chap ❤️
The RMT supported Brexit. They got the government that did Brexit to us. The RMT know what they voted for. Who looks foolish now?
I wonder why a union would support going out of a business protection racket? 🤔
And no one that voted for Brexit had a vote on how it would be done, funny that.
Bravissimo Mick👏🏽
Well said Mike ... stick it to them!!
Can this man please start a new political party so we have a genuine option at the ballot box.
Those are the points that politicians who are supposed to be representing the people should be making. Starmer should take notes.
Mick Lynch needs his own TV station and political party.
This guy is fantastic. 12:17am Friday 28th oct 2022, Seamus from Ireland
The argument that paying workers more would increase costs of living is the stupidest thing I've ever heard, even though it probably is true. It's the stupidest argument to say prices may go up if we give workers raises when prices have been going up anyway without pay raises.
It says a lot about the BBC journo that he is surprised at the current government being described as “hard right”. The current cabinet act like fascists.
That struck me immediately. How can any informed person be surprised by a description of this government as hard right?
The man talks absolute sense. 👏
The most arrogant thing I ever heard was , " The Unions are being greedy".
They'd pay the worker nothing if they felt they could get away with it?
I was hoping Lynch's answer was more "It's the choice between what flavour shit sandwich you want?"
But i'll take his actual answer. 😂
Even when they go at him mob handed, he still hands them their asses!
Love how the first clip was just the rest of the panel holding up the rhetorical version of crayon drawings of him saying ludicrous things.
Well said Mick Lynch!!!!
Don't they ask questions in such a manner to elicit good answers?
Exactly. It's a key part of the interviewers' job to challenge the interviewee, so we get a fuller representation of what the latter has to say. It's not a competition, and to characterise such interviews as if they are is entirely missing the point.
Politics is such a soap opera. Absolutely fuelled by programmes like this. Good on you Mick for sticking it to them.
"Those of us that are on P A Y" 🤣
That's great, that's going in my back pocket for later.

"But the government says.." is a sentence for wankers.
its time for a bit of the old ALL OUT!
1:18 that nerdy bloke used to have a much stronger accent, I'm sure of it. Seems the years at the BBC have unfortunately hammered it out of him
Excellent work Mick, honesty and knowledge is the only way 👍🇬🇧

tax may be higher HERE than it has been for a while .... but it is NOT higher than other countries that have the kind of services that we should have and could afford if politicians weren't so swivel-eyed and fetishistic about tax being a bad thing. It isn't. Lynchi is correct.
Literally agree with everything he's saying here, spreading the idea that we should maybe have some sense, what a guy.
I really hope Mick and Eddie are taking good care of their health. Aware of how high stress can severely affect one’s heart. They are taking on such tremendous responsibility on their shoulders, for every worker, not just their railway union members.
I was thinking the same. Shades of the tragically untimely death of John Smith.
Love Mick
Mick Lynch could actually be the next Labour prime minister. He has all the qualities !
The proper ones, not pandering to Wetherspoons brexiteer thugs, nor to corporate scumbags as Starmer is doing.
He just has to get past the Neo-Liberal Gate Keepers in the Party and we all saw what they did to Corbyn when he managed to get one on them and be voted in.. Twice, because they didn't like the result and demanded another election to which Corbyn beat them even harder.
But Mick Lynch could save the Labour Party, if he wanted to be leader? But the Party will make him out to be the next Adolf Hitler, like they did with Corbyn.
He could be the next Labour leader to lose an election, sure.
They'd never let him anywhere near, look what they did to Corbyn because he was anti-establishment

If he was Labour leader, I'd actually vote Labour.
I will not, under any circumstances vote for Labour while Sir Keith Starmer is leader.
Well then you are to effectively supporting the Tories as it's a 2 party system in the UK with FPTP. This division is the reason why the Tories keep winning and we are in the situation we are in.
I read a lot of good and positive comments about Mick Lynch with respect to his handling in interviews, i.e. media. He's calm, very knowledgeable and says it how it is. The media is indeed to polite (bar a few) to properly question politicians and I can see why. If youre employed by them and you give, in this case, tories a hard time, you may well face the end of your career. However, Mick is not part of that club and he is so impressive. I hope we all get the chance to support him in some way or another. He does not just speak for the RMT but for the country!!
