Those lights are not shift lights, you redlined it right out of the gate! You need to get the oil up to operating temperature first, regardless of break in. Just saying.
Stuck 50+ times in the QV? Really? No videos about any of them? Alfa service has lots of room to improve for sure.. But you must have owned the most unreliable giulia on the planet. BTW, Any sponsorship from BMW??
if i made content showing every single time my car had issues it would have only created huge negativity on this channel and that is something i would never want to influence. I had to OBD scan and clear codes several times per week during winter months or after heavy rain. I should have never tolerated this for 4 years because in the past when a car screwed up 3 or 4 times it was over with. I wish a manufacture sponsored me but no I do this for passion and personal pleasure.
Congratulation on your new M3. You'll love it. I have a 2022 M4 coupe, also Isle of Man Green and 6-speed manual, that I took delivery this last August 9. I ordered my car at the end of August last year, almost a full year before I got delivery. I ordered mine with the Tartufo brown full leather interior, moonroof, the 825M bi-color wheels, and the executive package. After 4 months and almost 3000 miles, I'm loving it. I did not order the carbon bucket seat package as I found them a little difficult to get in and out of, as I'll turn 77 next February. As for it being down 30 HP from the M3/M4 Competion with the automatic, I have not found my car wanting for more power. 473 HP definitely gets the job dine for me. Enjoy your your M3
thanks James so far I really like the M3 a lot and the manual just makes it all the better really. I would never have done this if the car was AWD and automatic that is just not what I wanted after my Alfa Romeo QV. Stay tuned to the channel for more content on the M.
Seeing you in a M3 is great, bought 2022 M340i earlier this year as I can't stand the front end no matter how much i loved 95% of the car. Excited to see what you do!
As someone who sold a QV due to the dealer support issues I sympathize. Absolutely loved my QV, still miss it after more than 6 months sold. But Alfa Romeo is destroying the brand right now and what a shame it is.
John thanks for sharing because as of today it is sad that about 80% of Alfa Romeo owners I have connected with over 4 years in general who even had Stelvios or 2.0 Giulia, QV etc moved on all for the exact same reasons. I literally tolerated it too long for the driving experience that I so loved but when the car puts your safety and others at risk you need to stop and realize no car is worth the risk or aggravation any longer. I see a grim future for Alfa Romeo in the US and maybe even killed off completely in the future because even abroad owners suffer from the same issues we do stateside.
@@autofanaticcars good luck with the M3, beautiful spec! Just keep moving forward. When Alfa cares complained to me about dealers dropping out and the pressure it was putting on Alfa cares and the remaining dealers I knew it was time.
2022 G80 6MT right here! Congrats on the 2023! The sound system has a break in period. I'd say after a few months of playing and when the interior is warm it sounds; PHENOMINAL! Better than my F80 which was very good. Your passenger had me cracking up with the commentary and messing with the screen every few minutes. Very authentic first drive! Congratulations!!!
traded it broken to the BMW dealer who then wholesaled it to the Alfa dealer who was servicing the car. Once they found out it was my car they immediately dumped it at auction and would not sell it due to liability. My car was pretty much a flood damaged car and unsafe after 2.5 years of serious issues shutting down when driving. it had to go before i did.
@@autofanaticcars, I see. Good you still have another italian in your garage. Have fun in your awesome spec'ed M3! I'm still going for a QV when I get the chance ;)
yeah i have a few Italians still in thew stable and that does not mean I wont buy another QV but i think if I do it again I would like to import a GTAM from Europe to keep in my collection and admire and drive on occasion. Also love the older GTV as a cool project one day.
awesome seats so far 4+ months owning them but still a PITA to get in and out of them and the leather is wearing very quickly because of the difficulty getting in and out of them. just a little trade off i guess.
Congratulations. That is the absolute dream M3. I love watching your videos and seeing the driving videos on the same exact roads I drive on knowing, damn I've been on those roads countless times. Nice little drive to Kensico. Enjoy that beast of a car!
My wife went to get her Covid vaccine at Westchester County Center back in the day and I’d kill time hanging at Westchester BMW. Love the roads around there, especially when the potholes are filled lol.
Honestly i speak to so many Alfa owners daily and even the newer ones customers have had issues the very strange scenario is seems only Giulia owners are having issues I rarely ever hear of any Stelvio owners with issues like I experience and My Stelvio has been perfect for over 3 years, very strange and I wonder now if there is some significant change in design of both models that we see more Giulia issues? I wish I had the answer to this magic question.
need to do lowering springs there are many options but i am still researching the best option because the factory suspension is tuned to perfection and you do not want to ruin it just for a smaller wheel gap.
awesome man enjoy it stay tuned to the channel lots of content on the M3 coming very soon I so far love the car cant stop driving it and rowing the gears.
Sad to see the QV content end. I had some hope you were going to modify your QV into a GTA. I comment here as my 2018 QV is now over at the dealership while they figure out a fuel pressure issue. No dangerous failures yet just a slow bleed, but will be facing the 4 year decision on whether to extend or not soon. May need to make a change. Looking forward to your new M3 adventure and content.
I think you should have kept the red Giulia Q you bought and sell the black one,wen you had the 2. The Giulia Q is my dream car. Best of luck with the M3
Congrats on the base G80 - a great choice. The gear shift assistant is just auto rev match for both upshift and downshift based on the sensors within the gate. It's pretty interesting how it operates on upshifts, it caught me by surprise the first time I turned it off in my G80 M3 as I was just expecting to rev match downshifts - nope! It helps on upshifts too. A few things to note: the normal shifter is pretty decent, but an SSK from Rogue Engineering/FutureClassic transforms the experience. In tandem with a CDV delete, the 6MT becomes much more fun to thrash around. The CDV delete is key to shifting very quickly. If you're ever around New Rochelle (south Westchester) then let me know, I'd be more than happy to give you some seat time behind my heavily modified G80 with a 6MT. Cheers!
hey thanks for the info and suggestions I need to look into those parts and the shifter, please send me an email we are very local to each other and would love to try the shifter your mentioning. awesome how like minded car guys can connect via these social platforms. thanks again my email is in my video descriptions on this channel.
not sure it sounds pretty good so far and there is so much to learn still on this car since I am such an old school analog guy this is a huge change for me and any other car i currently own.
Sorry you had such issues with your QV. I was inspired by things you had done to yours, but I also wonder if my 2022 is going to leave me stranded. Glad you found a car you can really enjoy. I had two Beemers when I was in Germany back in the early 90s. Yours sounds like a beast.
trashes the QV in the snow? I daily drove mine for almost 5 years and owned 2 of them stop trolling my videos and do something productive with your time
I did the CT4V Blackwing is incredible car but the brand just does not excite me these days and service is also mediocre for most dealers from past experiences with my CTSV's
they are both very different the shifter in the Shelby is way more precise and direct but the cars are both so easy to drive. I really missed driving manual in my daily last 4 years
the shifter itself feels identical but the power delivery of the F80 snf G80 and gearing is very different the F80 was so hard to put the power down safely on launch it would snap the rear and try to kill you. the F80 steering sucks it was so heavy and numb the G80 is a far better engineered machine, in every way.
@@autofanaticcars, as someone who uses the S2000 shifter feel as a reference point, I have a very difficult time trying to enjoy the F80 shifter. It's somewhat of a disappointment that the G80 feels the same way as the F80. Also, it took me some time to accept the G80 front end, and as I come to terms with it, BMW does the wide screen. We'll see if I end up pulling the trigger on this one. Either way, looking forward to your videos.
yeah this color is really cool i wish the cameras could capture the green better for some reason the camera sensors make it look toned down a bit in video.
go for it if you can but get the manual to change it up a bit from your M440i. the manuals are a rare breed and should be the best investment for resale.
trying hard to get snow tires but this car has crazy wheel stagger of 19 front 20 rear and nothing is available but if i find tires i will be drifting it with a smile do not worry lol
the tech in this car is incredible i am such an analog guy and hate tech but after almost a week it is so awesome and changes the user experience so much for the better. Like using your Iphone and Ipad everything syncs up Siri actually works with the BMW commands and controls its just awesome so far
@@autofanaticcars I don't know. If they offer a manual transmission as an option, they should have offered classic BMW analog gauges as an option as well. This is just too much Tesla looking weird. Who buys a car like that for technology ?
@@autofanaticcars don't follow new generation of M3s, but noticed that 2021 M3s don't have that wide LCD screen. Wonder why they chose to go that route for 2022. 2021 looked actually good
Hey Mark I wasn't even aware BMW was doing these LCD screens until the day I saw this car in person. This is the way of our future and it is here to stay, BMW, Mercedes and many other brands are now doing this for 2023 and beyond but I will say once I started using it I do not think I would ever want to go back to the old analog way because this new system of tech is so easy to use and i really am enjoying. I will highlight more in my new video this week of my 1 week ownership with some thoughts and feedback so check out the new video in a few days.
First of all, congrats on your new M3, I like this new grill only in M3 I don't know why but it looks very well fitted with the proportion of this car. I hope you have more time outside of service to enjoy this one. :) I am looking forward to your modifications that will further improve the driving dynamics and especially the steering feel if it needs. I'd love to hear a comparison especially about steering with QV. I am so sorry to hear that you sold your QV but as an ex Alfa Romeo owner, unfortunately I can understand why. I had just a simple and chronic issue on my 159, there was an oil leak into the throttle body. But I had to deal with it for 2 months because of services. I had to change 3 services. I realized that sometimes they really have no idea or they don't want to deal with it, and sometimes they just try cheap tricks to make money. My car was an 159 and it was used, that's why I wanted to believe that all issues was due to the misusage of the previous owner, but it was a very tiring process anyway. Exactly as you say, It's a great and hard-to-replace car when it works perfectly. But it has to give the reliability in daily drive as well as in corners. Yours was brand new and you are very conscious and caring driver. Despite this, it is frightening that you had to face so many problems and also the service does not have any support. It's just sad. I hope you don't have to deal with this kind of issues with this one.
yeah when the car almost causing you to get killed an excess number of times over the course of 4 years, constantly broken and dead and left stranded and dealers who ignore your calls, emails and even Roadside refused to help it was time to move on. ABS module failed and almost made me crash on Tuesday and that was when I decide enough is enough with the car. Il be discussing so much in my full M3 review about this further and why i went with BMW specifically.
The brakes feel a ton better. The electronic brakes were just different feeling. I could never go “all-in” with my QV because it lacked the necessary feedback.
Hell yeah!!! I'm sorry about the Alfa not working out, you really did put up with a lot from the car, but it's exciting to see you get another 3 pedal car! And I love the color! The screens are throwing me off, I didn't realize it came with those haha
@@autofanaticcars I'm surprised to hear that, I figured you would've preferred the older setup that the 2021s had. I guess they really did a great job.
Yes I would have preferred the all leather dash and doors and older design versus the 2023 where they now cut corners and offer less for more money but the Tech is really cool im not big into tech in cars I am more of an analog old timer but i really like how easy it is to use and operate.
My does have few issues, speed cluster display went dark twice, hood is hard to open, windshield washer fluid leaks , gas door is not opening ( and I finally gave up and take the small lock mechanism out so my gas door is not lockable) , sigh, it’s such a good car but too much issues
Sounds a lot like mine my gas door seized up as the car ran out of gas once I had to punch it and use a screw driver to pry open and then had to repaint the fuel door. However my car was never the same once water leaked into the cabin two year ago and affected the BCM module and wiring. Every time it rained or temps dropped below 40 the car was stuck, broke, misfiring, mega dash and chassis faults and left me stranded or worse stuck in gear and not able to be towed which I explained in my 4 year video. Roadside ignores multiple requests, dealers do not return phone calls or emails and not once have i had a loaner car in 4 years. I was out of my mind to tolerate this for so long when I have many other incredible cars I own and can drive with far less fear and aggravation. Once you have fear to enjoy something it simply is not worth having in your life.
Love the car but what does bad roadside assistance service have anything to do with justifying the purchase? BMW will dispatch the roadside assistance to the same trucks as any other company.
Beautiful colour that you've gone for there man, will be following this video just like the Quadrifoglio ones.. with regards to the Quadrifoglio.. have you gotten rid of the black beast altogether now? Sad to see that Alfa Romeos after sales/service is bang up to s*** as the UK, shame really as they've always made good products but let down by poor dealers.
yeah it is a shame i loved the Alfa so much but i put up with more problems in 4.5 years than anyone in their right mind would have tolerated. getting the M3 was out of impulse that day
@Auto Fanatic I totally understand where you coming from, the crazy thing is after 13 Alfa Romeos myself.. I still want that number 14! You could've done far worse than the M3, least its the manual although is the gear change typically BMW? Rubberised, notchy to some extent but devoid of any real feed back?
yeah the QV broken was traded for a very high number and I paid the difference it was a no brainer how this car in the exact spec I wanted was just sitting there, timing was on my side on Tuesday
I was fortunate to have a problem free ownership of the Alfa, although the limited dealer network was a concern and I didn’t care to keep the car beyond the warranty period. I daily the m3 so the added quality and refinement over the Alfa is great. Curious how you feel about the carbon buckets in the m3 compared to the QV. I had the sparcos in my QV and they were fine, but I didn’t option the carbon seats in the m3 due to how aggressive the bolstering seems compared to the sparcos in the Alfa. The carbon seats are gorgeous and I often regret not going with them
so far my first day with the M Buckets they fit me perfectly but getting out is a bitch with the thick bolster on the bottom cushion the Sparcos in the QV were some of the best seats i ever had in my life, every body frame is different with these style seats im surprised BMW went this aggressive on these seats by design but i think they did it for the WOW factor and they certainly WOW onlookers so far. I plan to do a video showing some various methods of entry an exit on these seats soon once i develop a pattern
@@autofanaticcars congratulations! Love the spec, but definitely surprised you let the QV go. Eager to hear your thoughts on the differences, and excited to see more in this new chapter.
@QV nobody was a cheerleader for Alfa Romeo as I was for 4 years and it's a true shame the thousands of fans I connected with over the years who bought these cars from my videos and as of today i think 70% or more have sold them because of the same issues with no manufacture support, lack of dealer support and not being treated right. I tolerated 4 years of this but after this week it was my absolute limit. When a car tries to kill you more than once you gotta decide it just is time to move on. the timing was right and this car was available and it made sense.
Congrats Phil. She’s a beauty inside & out. Looking forward to all the content in the future from detailing, Driving experience, mods and maintenance. And thank you for telling the truth about the Alfa Romeo. I wonder if u r gonna get rid of the Stelvio.
gone after it broke for the 50+ time this week and i went through hell that was the my final straw with dealing with this car, no dealer support and no support at all from everyone not even roadside. the brand is run so badly they deserve a rude awakening how they treat customers. Any other customer would have burned the car to the ground by now I was patient but my limit was reached on Tuesday.
@@autofanaticcars man I thought it treated you well over the years besides the water leak issue ? Or was that the 2018 and your 2021 had a lot of problems ?
when the QV was running perfectly it was and will always be on the best cars i ever owned in my life but with the 50+ times breaking down and lack of support from the brand, dealers it was time to move on.
the QV almost killed me once again the day before I bought the M3 read through the comment of this video. The Alfa dealers ignored me and roadside assistance left me hanging in the rain refusing to get me. that is why I am tired of the BS and lack of customer support and this M3 was on the ground and in a manual I grabbed it and the BMW dealer took my broken QV in on trade with a deal that was all in my favor for a car without warranty and very checkered past of water damage and the car shutting off at highway speeds. The M3 is a blast so far how I modified it
when I started this channel 4 years ago i specifically created content on the Shelby GT350 explaining why and how that car is not for everyone, for me I love it as a thrill but never could I daily drive a GT350 again. Enjoy the M4 these are such nicely engineered and built machines.
nice the Blackwing is a killer car one of the best in this segment but the Blackwing based on size and dynamics closely competes with the Alfa Romeo QV because the new M3 is quite a bit bigger in terms of car size inside and out, more or less a M5 with M3 badge. Still fun as hell and the colors and manual gearbox sealed the deal on the spot for me that day. Enjoy it I am taking my GT350R out today as well and I may order an M2 to get on the list we will see.
the roads are ok in certain areas but the last 5 years most good roads are destroyed such as Bronx River, Rt22, 684 etc the potholes are brutal and hard to enjoy i do my best in my drive videos but its not easy around here now.
@@autofanaticcars I left about 6 years ago so that makes sense. Yeah we used to drive up into like Armonk, etc. on 684 and or 84 if I remember correctly. I'm in TX now so a much different driving experience.
yeah 6 years back our roads were way better and they tax you more each year and you drive over holes and gravel its horrible. How is TX driving is it all flat with no elevations at all like FL? never been or driven down there. We are leaving NY in the next few months as our game plan and driving roads were a big part of where we settle.
@@autofanaticcars I left mostly because of the taxes! TX isn't bad for driving. Yeah, it's mostly straight and flat but the hill country closer to Austin is probably more windy with some elevation changes. Taxes are lower here but there's no place like NY.
Not only is it cold for those tires, but also there are virtually NO miles on them! Takes a few hundred miles to break them in to where they're not greasy. Take it easy out there!
Wow man. That car is awesome 👌! Love the color inside and out. Sounds great. And it's a manual transmission!!!! Any reason why you chose the RWD versus the AWD ( where you can change the setup to be RWD on demand)? Was it weight savings? Look forward to seeing more with this M3. Congrats.
weight is an issue on most new cars and i did not love driving the auto in this car and you can not get an AWD with the manual so the way this car is is how it comes the 6 speed dictates many options but i love it and it is absolutely perfect for me and what i wanted. I really wanted a manual sport sedan for a daily and this just was the perfect timing this week that this special car was not taken and i was able to buy it.
@@autofanaticcars Understood. Really a shame that they don't offer the manual option with AWD. Guess we should be thankful they offer a manual period. Do you think you'll go for an all season tire or stick with the summer rubber? Btw, nice sneakers . Matched the car. Well done.
nice i am not a huge fan of that color i honestly feel the old school Imola Red was an all time classic on the E39 and E46M models. When will you get yours love to see that color combo
@@autofanaticcars lol,.....I meant aventurine red. The Toronto red looks better on smaller cars I think. Should be a beautiful spec. Certainly rare. Local dealer said six months. Had to put down 5k
Yeah the Toronto i see lots of X5 and X7 around here looks awful if your dealer is stringing you along please contact the place I got mine you could easily buy it and ship over i bet
re Your comment “not over MSRP” - On the money. I considered a Mach 1 Mustang - Dealer, “If I can get one, at least $10,000 over list - No thank you! I’m now very interested in the coming Dark Horse Mustang - Not at all interested in “MARKET ADJUSTMENT” Happy Motoring in your new BMW
constant electrical, car not starting, car shutting off leaving me stranded, brake system malfunctioning almost causing me to crash it got so bad this week that i reached my threshold and when the 3 dealers i called for support showed zero interest to help and roadside would not even tow me i made my mind up it was time to divorce the bitch.
it is a true shame because I promoted the Alfa Romeo brand so much and helped sell thousands of cars to fans all over the globe. The unfortunate truth is today customer support and after sales care is lacking in almost every single industry. People are incompetent, lazy and mismanaged and brands seem to not care today but many brands do treat customers right which makes them so successful. Huge difference between FCA and a brand like BMW or Mercedes or even Lexus they should not even be in the same discussion thats how different these brands are run. When you abandon the customer your future as a brand earning a profit each fiscal year diminishes and that is the future of Alfa Romeo wait and see as they will be history in the not so distant future.
yeah i would have never bought the car with the automatic and AWD. My 1 week ownership video drops tomorrow as I rack on my miles today. stay tuned for my feedback so far.
yeah getting up this morning to row the gears was just awesome and the car is so comfortable it doesn't beat me up like my other more harder sports cars i own.
i guess e92 m3 project went to back burner for now i love the g80 even more though i can't wait for all the videos on this car specs are on point congrats phil
No the E92 is still a car I want but I want a mega low mile mint one 99% of them are beat up, modified and abused with checkered past and deferred service. the only ones i saw that would meet my requirements are the Lime Rock Orange editions but now those are stupid money pushing 200k and i do not like orange on a car.
@@autofanaticcars unfortunatly very low miles mint cars going for insane amount like you are saying g80 is a killer choice Phil congrats man like i said i am as excited to follow what you do with it please share bunch of videos of it

@@autofanaticcars yeah I know that his is going to be a rental, it's just the coincidence that you both get them a just few days apart. And yours is RWD only his is Xdrive. Wish you all the best Phil drive safe
yeah i mentioned in another comment most of these special models from BMW and Porsche are landing now at dealers with whomever ordered them way back. I got so lucky that the owner who spec my car bailed on it the day it arrive which was Tuesday and my Alfa grenade once again this week that pushed me over the limit to do this deal, it was timing and fate for sure. Im loving it so far.
ha ha ha i swear this was fate man how this all happened this week, was not planned but this is the exact spec i would have ordered and waited forever to get. timing in life means everything and this was the right move.
ha ha ha I know but i also use other dealers and they all suck in regards to service. I called roadside 4 times put in a request, got 4 calls from ghetto tow companies in the south bronx who said sorry we are not coming to help you. Even roadside is cutting corners trying to contract out to the cheapest tow companies around it is horrible all around
@@autofanaticcars I had similar experience in the past and now I basically try to troubleshoot any issue I encounter on my own (or throught your channel). The dealers are in for the money...alfa comes out as a loser because people (like yourself) will be fed up and switch brand.
Paul it is so sad to see Alfa Romeo come back to the USA after so many years only to self sabotage their future by being run by idiots. Since i created content on my Alfa Romeo QV 4 years ago thousands have been influenced all over the world to go out and buy an Alfa Romeo. As of today i say over 75% of those buyers have sold them and moved on because I speak to people each day on this subject. They all had similar issues except they did not tolerate it for 4 years like I did. I just loved the experience so much having car that felt like a 4 door Ferrari and was stealth and not flashy to daily drive and was so rare and unique nobody had one anywhere i went. In the end the ownership period was extended far too long and i took far too many chances with life in that car. You never know maybe one day Il buy another as a toy but not as a daily driver.
@@autofanaticcars I have to say that I still have it and daily drive it only because it has a deeper meaning for me. It was a push to open my business and being able to purchase it. The company however, clearly doesn't value customers as they should and that is a shame.
if you got stuck 50+ tomes with any car you would have burned it to the ground and with dealers who do not help, techs who cant fix things right and roadside that says FU we aren't coming it was time to move on, too much stress in my life for any car nobody would have put up with this for 4 years non stop
As a Giulia QV owner it's sad to me that Alfa Romeo just lost the biggest QV enthusiast on American RUclips. You gotta do whatcha gotta do tho. Best of luck w the M3. Beautiful spec.
i agree but Alfa Romeo corportate and the dealer network pretty much left me to hang out to dry. too many close calls and near death experiences with the Alfa and so much fear each day driving it not know what would happen next. On Tuesday the ABS Module failed and i almost crashed head on into a tree and there was zero support even from Roadside to help me. thats when I said I am done!
I honestly was deliberating on doing such a video but it will honestly create so much negativity in public domain and I just do not want to bring that energy into my social platforms because people will curse, slander, threaten you name it and I did this with my Infinity Q50 RS when the belt flew off the engine and i almost wrecked the car on the highway I had to take the video down it was getting ugly in the comments and YT flagged it and took it down.
oh yeah read the comments on this video but I will elaborate more in my M3 review video soon once i clock more miles on it. the QV almost killed me once again and it was the final time I would ever accept dealing with this.
I thought I liked the techno violet that Matt from OG got but that green is amazing. I agree that red is awful, too much orange in it. Congratulations on the new car
considering how I wasn't even looking to buy one of these cars that day i stopped in to BMW and saw this car the color and spec blew my mind and I did not even hesitate to buy it, updated ownership video in a few days on my thoughts and collective feedback after a week of ownership so stay tuned for that one.
Sorry to hear about the QV man. That car truly is a work of art in pretty much every aspect so its a shame that alfa isn't able to hold its reliability and service to the same standard. I was looking into maybe picking one up with low miles myself but after seeing all of the horror stories I think I'm gonna take a hard pass and this channel solidifies that. I will probably end up going for an e92 m3, OG m2, or 340i with mods. Anyway congrats on the new M3! Not particularly a fan of it personally but it's still definitely an impressive machine. What do you think of the overall experience compared to the Qv now that you've owned the g80 for a while?
hey the M3 is amazing to drive with the mods ive done since owning it. Brakes are superior to the Alfa, Suspension much firmer than the Alfa and more Porsche like and more easier to drive to the limit without fear, power is awesome, manual gearbox is a blast and the sound with my full REMUS exhaust is so loud it completely changed the character of the M3 into an animal. Granted it isn't the sexiest new car today but these are the last ICE BMW M models being made with a manual so this is why I grabbed it when I did.
I think you made the smart move. The Alpha is unique for sure , but none of us need to have a relationship with any service manager. Life is too short. I'm sure the bmw will not let you down like the Alpha did. Keep up the great videos and best of luck with your new vehicle!
polar opposite cars nothing can compare to my Shelby GT350R that car is just so special in so many ways but iimpossible to drive regularly around here. I plan to take the R out this weekend if weather permits
I agree with OP. I had 2021 BMW same specs but with regular seats. I did enjoy it for a minute, but a novelty wear off pretty quick. For me BMWs are now feel like digital world; zero involvement. GT350; full of excitement.
Those lights are not shift lights, you redlined it right out of the gate! You need to get the oil up to operating temperature first, regardless of break in. Just saying.

Everything the color combo is exactly the way I want to order
just missing xdrive
Totally agree I will be posting my 1 week ownership update tomorrow evening so check it out on this channel
Gorgeous car love the green and cognac seats, good luck ! I have a 22 purple m240i auto which is quick but I miss shifting a manual.
I saw a purple M240i at the dealer I really like that car, small and fun for sure I bet and fast as hell i hear. Enjoy it
@auto Fanatic, what happened to the QV? Did you sell it? (Private or to a dealer)?
traded it broken to the BMW dealer who then wholesaled it to the Alfa dealer who was servicing the car.
How u feel your bucket carbon seat ?
awesome seats so far 4+ months owning them but still a PITA to get in and out of them and the leather is wearing very quickly because of the difficulty getting in and out of them. just a little trade off i guess.
Congratulations. That is the absolute dream M3. I love watching your videos and seeing the driving videos on the same exact roads I drive on knowing, damn I've been on those roads countless times. Nice little drive to Kensico. Enjoy that beast of a car!
nice man more drive videos coming soon
My wife went to get her Covid vaccine at Westchester County Center back in the day and I’d kill time hanging at Westchester BMW. Love the roads around there, especially when the potholes are filled lol.
Would you give hope to the 20-23 QVs? Less risk to break or as problematic as the early models?
Honestly i speak to so many Alfa owners daily and even the newer ones customers have had issues the very strange scenario is seems only Giulia owners are having issues I rarely ever hear of any Stelvio owners with issues like I experience and My Stelvio has been perfect for over 3 years, very strange and I wonder now if there is some significant change in design of both models that we see more Giulia issues? I wish I had the answer to this magic question.
ordered one same color to arrive early spring. any thoughts on how to minimize the wheel gap in the front to get it matching the rear?
need to do lowering springs there are many options but i am still researching the best option because the factory suspension is tuned to perfection and you do not want to ruin it just for a smaller wheel gap.
Beautiful color combo! I took delivery of my manual Brooklyn gray last week. It’s definitely beyond amazing.
awesome man enjoy it stay tuned to the channel lots of content on the M3 coming very soon I so far love the car cant stop driving it and rowing the gears.
how is the heater/Ac ... serious question

Best of luck with the M3
the issue is the service and lack of support no matter what Alfa i have it is too frustrating to deal with in life to be honest.
Congratulations Phil!! She’s beautiful!!
thanks Doug
Congrats man! Was looking forward to your review of this car. And you just freaking bought one! Nice
thanks Il have a more detailed review soon
Pictures of your car please.
Damn, sick bro! How's the drone in and pumped in noise? Can you turn it off. I'm willing to pull the trigger, but kinda hesitating.
not sure it sounds pretty good so far and there is so much to learn still on this car since I am such an old school analog guy this is a huge change for me and any other car i currently own.
Sorry you had such issues with your QV. I was inspired by things you had done to yours, but I also wonder if my 2022 is going to leave me stranded. Glad you found a car you can really enjoy. I had two Beemers when I was in Germany back in the early 90s. Yours sounds like a beast.
You simply never cared for the QV, who trashes a QV in heavy snow?
trashes the QV in the snow? I daily drove mine for almost 5 years and owned 2 of them stop trolling my videos and do something productive with your time
Congrats🙏. Did you every get to test drive the CT4V Blackwing? Seems like a great car and platform as well. Wonder how it stacks up against this
I did the CT4V Blackwing is incredible car but the brand just does not excite me these days and service is also mediocre for most dealers from past experiences with my CTSV's
Congrats on your m3! How does the clutch compare to the shelby?
they are both very different the shifter in the Shelby is way more precise and direct but the cars are both so easy to drive. I really missed driving manual in my daily last 4 years
The charging pad would replace the block off plate area in front of the shifter.
It's impossible to test drive a manual M3 in my area. How would you compare the shifter of the G80 to F80? ...and congrats on the new car.
the shifter itself feels identical but the power delivery of the F80 snf G80 and gearing is very different the F80 was so hard to put the power down safely on launch it would snap the rear and try to kill you. the F80 steering sucks it was so heavy and numb the G80 is a far better engineered machine, in every way.
Either way, looking forward to your videos.
does anyone make a proper short shift upgrade for these cars? maybe i should develop and manufacture one if that is the case time to research now
BTW is the X4 going to replace the Stelvio?
not sure she loves the Stelvio for now we will see
So nice. We just did a feature video on our channel with an M3 similar to this and I still can't get over the color. I'm jealous.
yeah this color is really cool i wish the cameras could capture the green better for some reason the camera sensors make it look toned down a bit in video.
Been leasing a M440i for a year and a half and seeing this video is tempting me to upgrade haha. Perfect spec too. Congrats!
go for it if you can but get the manual to change it up a bit from your M440i. the manuals are a rare breed and should be the best investment for resale.
Love the Vid. Will you drive it in your next snow storm? I still remember you trying to get that Mustang up that hill. LOL
trying hard to get snow tires but this car has crazy wheel stagger of 19 front 20 rear and nothing is available but if i find tires i will be drifting it with a smile do not worry lol
Congrats bro 🍾
I don't like t he front, but I can live with it, that LCD tho. What were they thinking ? Everything else is nice
the tech in this car is incredible i am such an analog guy and hate tech but after almost a week it is so awesome and changes the user experience so much for the better.
The screens are throwing me off, I didn't realize it came with those haha
i didnt' know about the screens either until the day i saw it and now living with it i really love the new tech BMW integrated
Aww, was hoping you would do a spark plug vid on QV , congrats on the new car, and wow, you also in Westchester area?
you have a QV around here? plugs are bitch on the QV my car fouled plugs like 10 times in 4 years,
@@autofanaticcars yeah, I also have a 18 black QV lol, and I work at Harrison area
definitely seen you around then.
Once you have fear to enjoy something it simply is not worth having in your life.
wait - what?! you sold the AR QV?
read the comments on this video, traded the car in broken and paid the difference.
@@autofanaticcars Copy that. Well congrats on the M3! How do you like it compared to the QV? Please make a video on comparisons !

ha ha hysterical it was in the trunk of my Alfa when i cleaned everything out of it before i said bye bye
Congrats ! Enjoy !
I loved the car, congrats 🎉Are you keeping the GT350 R?
yeah GT350R stays for now at my other location too cold to drive it now
Love the car but what does bad roadside assistance service have anything to do with justifying the purchase? BMW will dispatch the roadside assistance to the same trucks as any other company.
And even more likely to break down in the first place 😂
Very happy for you ! my brother has the G80 M3 competition in the rear drive version great car and handling
awesome the G8O blows away the F80 in every single performance category so far il discuss and highlight more in my full review video soon
Did you trade in the QV?
yeah the QV broken was traded for a very high number and I paid the difference it was a no brainer how this car in the exact spec I wanted was just sitting there, timing was on my side on Tuesday
I thought you really hated the new the m3? I remember you talking about it when thinking about what could replace the Alfa.
i really did but spend a moment to read the comments of this video and youll know what i did this
Congrats on the M3. I recently made the same move and went from a QV to a G80 comp Xdrive. Enjoy it, looking forward to more content on this car
awesome so you understand why i did this deal. Love the car so far
Congratulations nice spec and big up to westchester bmw 😎 can't wait for my build date to my m2.
Congrats on the new toy. Did you trade in the qv?
broken and all still traded in i paid the difference best deal of my life!
Congrats Phil! Can’t wait to see what develops!
thanks more to come soon im excited on working on this new platform and my first green car ever!
Congrats Phil. She’s a beauty inside & out. Looking forward to all the content in the future from detailing, Driving experience, mods and maintenance. And thank you for telling the truth about the Alfa Romeo. I wonder if u r gonna get rid of the Stelvio.
Nice spec. What happened to the Giulia?
gone after it broke for the 50+ time this week and i went through hell that was the my final straw with dealing with this car, no dealer support and no support at all from everyone not even roadside. the brand is run so badly they deserve a rude awakening how they treat customers.
@@autofanaticcars I don’t blame you that’s enough to drive anyone nuts. Has your wife’s Stelvio ti sport had less breakdowns ?
Our Stelvio is great we love it and drive it A LOT.
You mentioned this car made you wanna throw up - howd you end up with one? What changed?
the QV almost killed me once again the day before I bought the M3 read through the comment of this video. The M3 is a blast so far how I modified it
Congratulations man I hope you enjoy it . Great spec
thanks
This breaks my heart man!!!
Cool man I’m so glad you went for the M3 - I moved from
My GT350 and 500 into an M4 como so I’m glad you will do a lot of things with that
when I started this channel 4 years ago i specifically created content on the Shelby GT350 explaining why and how that car is not for everyone, for me I love it as a thrill but never could I daily drive a GT350 again. Enjoy the M4 these are such nicely engineered and built machines.
@@autofanaticcars i bought my 350 watching your channel keep killing it !
Bruh u were in white plains 😯‼️‼️ Dobbs ferry road then the bx river
Ha that would be my spec, I went with a ct4 v blackwing that showed up. Also have a 20 hep 350r, considering the new m2 we'll see.
nice the Blackwing is a killer car one of the best in this segment but the Blackwing based on size and dynamics closely competes with the Alfa Romeo QV because the new M3 is quite a bit bigger in terms of car size inside and out, more or less a M5 with M3 badge. Still fun as hell and the colors and manual gearbox sealed the deal on the spot for me that day. Enjoy it I am taking my GT350R out today as well and I may order an M2 to get on the list we will see.
Congrats! I just got the 50 Jahre M3 Comp... I miss Westchester, great driving roads.
the roads are ok in certain areas but the last 5 years most good roads are destroyed such as Bronx River, Rt22, 684 etc the potholes are brutal and hard to enjoy i do my best in my drive videos but its not easy around here now.
Take it easy out there!
exactly im so tempted but trying to learn all the tech in the meantime. super happy so far i have not been this excited in years for a new car
Those new front grills are hideous!!!
perfect opportunity for me to design something, manufacture and sell FYI.
Well done.

Dude!!!!! You're killing me.
Gear shift assist means the computer will auto rev match.
I like the M3 and I have several BMWs, so I am an enthusiast for sure. It’s still a shame Alfa loses one of its biggest proponents.
it is a true shame because I promoted the Alfa Romeo brand so much and helped sell thousands of cars to fans all over the globe.
Awesome. Congratulations.

g80 is a killer choice Phil congrats man like i said i am as excited to follow what you do with it please share bunch of videos of it
Great vid, can’t wait to get your take on yours as well as Matt’s on his channel
its an amazing car so far I am so loving it il highlight more in my full review video soon. Blows away the F80 M3 in every way and feels so planted and well engineered in the suspension tuning very balanced
It's funny Matt from Obsessed Garage just got his 30 Jahre edition, and now you with yours congrats 👏🏻 some German reliability hopefully😅.
As a side note am I the only one who doesn't like the door handles and how round they cut the door out for them?
yeah but il be daily driving my M3 and mine is a 6 speed he will be renting his out to people who rent his house so stay tuned for lots of content from me daily driving this car and doing all sorts of stuff on it. should be a fun time and im excited. Trying to secure snow tires to do drifting this season lol
Amazing choice you will not regret it!
thanks my 1 week ownership feedback video goes live tomorrow so check it out.,
No laser lights 😢
big waste of money and the blue clashes with this color i would have never ordered those
Classy. Love both exterior & interior colors. Looks like it was spec’d just for you. My wife probably would have made me cancel the order too!
ha ha ha i swear this was fate man how this all happened this week, was not planned but this is the exact spec i would have ordered and waited forever to get. timing in life means everything and this was the right move.
The funny part is the fact that the bmw dealer is right in front of the alfa dealer. Did you honk driving by?
ha ha ha I know but i also use other dealers and they all suck in regards to service.
Just sunning I Love it
This is elmsford I live right over there
Noooooo you gave up on Alfa Romeo! If you can't stay brand loyal ...no hope for the brand
if you got stuck 50+ tomes with any car you would have burned it to the ground and with dealers who do not help, techs who cant fix things right and roadside that says FU we aren't coming it was time to move on, too much stress in my life for any car nobody would have put up with this for 4 years non stop
Beautiful color wow
@@autofanaticcars I'd have done the same. Would love a video recapping some of the near death stuff. Important to share, IMO
Congrats! Gorgeous spec. Guess I will have to order that new M2 after all.
order the m2 now the list is getting huge I hear, i may order one myself just to get placement
Did I miss something? Did the Alfa Romeo hit the 💩? Can someone fill me in?
oh yeah read the comments on this video but I will elaborate more in my M3 review video soon once i clock more miles on it. the QV almost killed me once again and it was the final time I would ever accept dealing with this.
@@autofanaticcars nice!
Congrats on the M3 Phil, I call this "Erection Spec"🔥🔥
That color and THOSE seats, nailed it👍👍
I think you made the smart move. The Alpha is unique for sure , but none of us need to have a relationship with any service manager. Life is too short. I'm sure the bmw will not let you down like the Alpha did. Keep up the great videos and best of luck with your new vehicle!
thanks man I love the M3 so far and the colors are incredible its such a new experience for me who always buys black cars lol
beautiful car perfect spec👌👌 can’t wait to see how you like it compared to the GT350R!
polar opposite cars nothing can compare to my Shelby GT350R that car is just so special in so many ways but iimpossible to drive regularly around here.
