Thanks for all the info. I just do eBay on the side and it takes me FOREVER to complete a listing. I appreciate all the great tips in this video & for making me feel better about my super slow listing speeds, lol.
Who decides whether to charge shipping and how much to charge? (When they make up the listing, do they decide that also)? If charging shipping, is the amount set or is it going to be calculated by the buyer. If no shipping is charged, is the shipping cost rolled into the listing price of the item? Thanks.
On Ebay seller decides whether to charge shipping or use a fixed price. Ebay charges you the same final value fees on shipping and item anyway. If you charge for shipping you can choose set price or calculated shipping.
Great video! I recently tried a new method of listing where I complete the bulk of the listing on my desktop and save the listing in a draft, then move to my phone to quickly take all the pictures. Not sure how many people do it this way, but it's really helped boost my productivity!
Nice to know someone else is slow, smiles.. ...I have not started listing yet as I am still researching the how too. ...thanks for your how to videos. ...Theresa
I work for a ebay store, I do work as Photographer, Tech, Returns and Customer Service. We use something called Kyozou to manage all our inventory, and listings. Our biggest struggle these days is Item Specifics, having endlessly to add unavailable information into our listings, to get the listings approved. I love these kinds of videos, because I always want to learn more. Thank you.
I watch your videos and almost forget that you're talking to a lot of people, and not just me. Your videos are extremely helpful, and I'm very appreciative of all I've learned thanks to you.
Thank you for your awesome videos and these tips. I save the time of transferring my pictures from my phone to my computer by doing the listings on the computer and saving them as a draft. I then complete the listing from my phone by adding the pictures. Works for me and saves me time!
Literally watched your video for the first time last night, and before I did I was actually thinking to myself “How can I make extra income?” So I thought, “ hey, what about selling on eBay?” And When I watched your video I gained confidence to just go for it. I listened to what you said about selling things that I don’t want and just threw them up there to see what happens. Only have 3 items so far, but hey it’s a start. I’m also a vintage toy collector and I’ve chosen that to be what I want to sell. I actually pre ordered some figures, about $300 worth to see if I can make a profit by flipping them, have to spend to make money. Thank you for giving me confidence. I wish all of you luck that are just beginning. Don’t give up!!!
An Excellent tutorial for beginning listers! Also great advice for productivity and focus to avoid becoming overwhelmed. I don't know if I'll ever become a reseller, but can use many of these pointers to tackle the mountain of stuff left from my mom's passing. So great of you to take the time to share this with others!

Such an amazing video. We have been selling for a little over a year now, and we picked up so many tips from this video. Keep up the great work. You all are amazing!!!
Great Advice! I'm still super slow at listing, but I keep plugging away at it. Definitely helps to make smaller piles if you have a huge death pile. I do my majority of sourcing in the summer at garage sales, so by this time of year my inventory is overwhelming, but it sure is nice to have all of that stuff by the middle of winter when sourcing is limited.
Hi Ryan. I'm a very new eBay seller (no experience but, following your tips and tricks, thank you for sharing) :-) When you mentioned eBay & taking 4 photos, does that apply to all things we will sell, or just shoes ?
IRL prepwork is part of the listing process, especially for shoes, and a place where most people get bogged down. Leaving those steps out of the video glosses over how long it actually takes to list shoes. I've been cleaning thrift store marker prices off shoes today with goo gone, and it adds to the time it takes to get shoes listed FR
Thank you for this video Ryan. These are great tips for people starting to resell on any platform. Listing on eBay is so overwhelming for me especially now with all the required item specifics.
I wonder if once you have the listing, & if it doesn’t sell, if you can you continue relisting with no additional fee? In other words, if you just pay them once to create the listing, do you basically own that listing from there on? Because sometimes you have to relist several times before an item actually sells.
I know it’s weird and unusual, but here are my feelings regarding shoes: I hate listing them soo much! To the point that I can only list 2-3 pairs at a time because I’m fed up. But I love cleaning them and making them look like new and I love packing them because I use shrink wrap and special shoe boxes and it’s like a Christmas wrapping session every time lol so yeah the listing is what I have no passion for.
I took about a year or so off from watching reselling videos on RUclips, so I apologize if you already covered this. What would you say the percentage of quality listing drafts they send you versus drafts that you have to do a good amount of fixing on them?
Great video! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and breaking it down on how to spend your time more wisely and more beneficial options if you are short on time! I’m new to online selling and I am feeling more encouraged after watching these videos! Very much appreciated!
Thanks for the advice. I do one thing at a time right now. I have no computer at home and that is what I have to get soon before December. I did purchase a printer. I'm sure that will make it alot easier to do pictures all at once. That is my plan. Thanks for how to make things faster in listing.
So, let me ask, are you just giving SellHound the photos? Or are you providing them with product name, and specifics, ie shoe brand, model, size, condition, weight etc... cause if you are and your already having to type that info out you might as well be typing it into the eBay sell item form. Now if SellHound is able to pull all that info from simply uploading a pic well then I guess it makes sense, but if you literally need to describe the item it doesn't make sense to me, especially if you have to type out and send the description and then have to review the listing, how much time are you really saving? Thanks as always for the content!
It has been a couple months since I used them so they might have changed, but I always had to enter the size, gender and item condition. I think that was it though and it takes like 5 seconds to do that. You can also enter any item specifics to help them with the search (great for specialized items). Another thing to note is that you will give them a template to post with. We have our terms & conditions that we include at the bottom of every listing and that is what we sent them as our template. Then if there are any specific notes I want included for the particular item, you can add it into the body of the listing in sellhound and they will take care of the rest. It still saves time because of the title creation and price comps.
@@RALLIROOTS You send an image of the tag though right? I'm definitely going to give this a shot though college has been eating all my time up and all I can do is ship stuff out lately. I appreciate you guys bringing this to light.
On starting a business that you wish to grow and don't need the profits to get by with...obviously you would make an inventory of what was purchased and how much it was bought...lets say you purchased 100 items at a dollar each..and you sold one item at lets say 20 dollars..would you replace only one dollar and call the rest profit? or would you put back all the 20 dollars to replace the cost of the items not yet sold? How do you actually calculate the growth of your business?as if you do pay back all the inventory..you can never say it's all paid for as you always need to keep buying...confused ,,,,would much appreciate your advice.
Yeah, we run our business on net cash flow in and out, so let’s say this month we spend $40k on inventory and expenses and the business brings in $30k, that’s a $10,000 net loss. If the business spends $40k and we bring in $50k that’s a $10,000 gross profit(pre-tax)

Jeremy, I always have a tub of items I'm listing. I do all pics, like Ryan mentioned, then as uploading into sellhound, they get an custom sku (which for me is the shelf they will go on in storage and the next number in line. Ex: B67). That sku then goes into sellhound, on a small round sticker on the item itself and then into my Master spreadsheet as well. Helps keep track of everything.
I'm a fairly new re-seller. How does sellhound know if you want to do an auction or BIN? I have a ton of items to list. I'm one person and don't have time to source and list. This could be a God send for me.
So many people don't understand that time really is the most valuable resource we have. You guys get the best tips. Btw that camera feature where you swipe up and down for the brightness, is that solely on iPhones?
@RALLI ROOTS Is there a benefit to taking the pictures before you do the listings? I usually take my box of items and do the listing on the computer first then add pictures and post from my phone. If there is some sort of benefit id like to know what it is to help myself out. lol
How many listings would you say it would be worth it for sellhound? I currently have 300 and I feel like I am drowning because I have another 100 items to list
If it’s faster to list on a desk top, and an iPhone takes good pics, how do you get your pics from your iPhone to the desk top? I have an iPhone 6 and it doesn’t have a SD card. Thx for all your help 😃
How did you arrive at SellHound as your third party listed. I have been looking at a few different ones including inkFrog. Honestly we are still new to this with my store limit met and selling three or four items a week. I spend 80% of my time researching prices and listing. I would like to move to the next store level and think that a third party lister is the key to expanding my e-commerce store. Are differences in prices between inkFrog (11.00 a month) and SellHound (67.50 a month) worth paying the difference?
Ingot buns and bags and this new year i was trying to go tops. Swesters. Drrsses. Shoes tske 1 category at a day... Yes indint like the umbrella lights the box were best to me. The umbrella still works if u have nothing at all. But box for sure step up
Thank you for the square mode tip. I’ve listed thousands of things and always have an issue with scaling them right in a square. And I’ve always had an iPhone so I clearly haven’t been paying attention 🤣.
Hey Ryan thanks for another great video. How do you advise sellhound what to charge for shipping shoes and boots? Do you use the USPS shoebox for shipping?
Ok everyone's concentrated on the video, I'm checking out that t-shirt. I likey. Great info. I started this process of putting small lots together, using banker boxes. When I empty one it goes to the top and I work on the next. I like the thought of someone else doing the listing with me only having to take pictures but not sure I'm willing to pay someone else 2 bucks a listing, but maybe someday. Thank you💜
You're right, if we can focus on the business rather than focusing on working in the business, we can grow faster (from the book "E-Myth Revisited"). SellHound is a great tool to use. But, we have a few people locally to photograph our items, we then take those photos and have a few people (in the Philippines) draft them for us on inkFrog. We just review & launch the listings at that point. We currently have 5,000 item listed in our store and the goal is to have double by the end of the year.
Nice!! You guys are always crushing it, the only reason we don't use inkfrog is because they load the listings with unneeded HTML, well they did when we used them ;) probably don't anymore.
Although, I am primarily using my phone. I agree that desktop is much better. I poured coffee in my laptop and found out, the hard way. Great video, Ryan!
Been on ebay for years sold thousands of items never listed once with a computer only a phone and killing it i feel the phone is 100% faster i think the most i listed in 1 day stands at 94-95 items with a phone hahaha oh yeah and also while your using a phone to do listings like I do you can actually turn the phone to a no bother or off so no calls or any interruptions come through so its smooth sailing but your way works to obviously because you are the THE ONE AND ONLY RALLY ROOTS anyways love you guys im excited because I get to rock my winter beanie soon that I got from you a year or 2 ago is there going to be any other ones coming out?
I am a new seller and I get hung up on the shipping. How do you handle shipping if the third party app does the listing? Do they also suggest shipping?
Thanks for the video here is something that may help both of us and more. No one is doing ebay videos on how to do the description. Such as font color alinement so forth.
What I do to speed things up is add a generic listing draft online after finding a like item that has sold before and then save it and open the draft in the app. Then I attach the photos right from my phone. Then save it and then open the draft again on my computer. Also thanks for the great videos
Thank you.Have you got a video on how to list multiple items of the same item with small variations ( for example if I had a set of 3 picture frames, how could I offer the buyer a choice of either purchasing the full set,or only one if he prefers to not buy the whole set ) ..and also, how to list totally different multiple listings like for example I have 10 totally different plush toys and do not want to list them in 10 separate listings.Thank you

New to your you tube and was wondering if when using Sellhound for clothes do you send them pictures of a ruler for inseam, pit to pit etc and do you tell them things you want in all your listings such as condition, notification of them being sourced, return policy etc. I can tell I'm going down a big rabbit hole watching you. A sheet, 2 desk lamps and a cell phone with a good camera that allows for manual adjustments can get you very good, clean white background photos. Tip: Use 1:1 square photos and apply a white border to each photo. Provides a cleaner border when the photo isnt 1:1 when viewed on ebay (like when viewed in the ebay app).
I have one recommendation for some of your viewers. You have way more experience than we do so correct me if I’m wrong. We have found that loading pictures from our phones is faster than loading to our computer. So the way we do it is we create a listing and maybe start a few things in the listing like the title for sure. We then save the listing and then reopen it in our mobile app and then add the pictures to the listing from the phone. Save listing again and reopen on the computer. All the photos are in the listing. The reason that we found this was better was because loading pictures to a slow computer or a slow Internet was a timely process. Loading directly to our phone then saving that listing and then returning to the computer was fastest for us. If you have a better way I’d love to know because I can only get maybe 15!items listed a day LOL

This has given me the drive to dive into my "death pile", because I'd lost my momentum & drive because listing was so daunting (and nice to hear you even say that it is daunting & time-consuming.) I am fairly new at having a store...but I found I can create the listing on my desktop and submit it without pictures. Then go to my phone and click in the draft and add the photos from my phone. This saves a ton of time transferring photos from my phone to the computer.
Question about your tips you gave at the end Ryan... you said to try and do it in a bunch of different tabs. I love that idea but I was under the impression that you couldn't have Ebay open in more than one place at a time because the info wouldn't save properly. This is why I haven't had anyone else helping me because I wanted to have my friend multitasking on her computer in my account.

That sku then goes into sellhound, on a small round sticker on the item itself and then into my Master spreadsheet as well. Helps keep track of everything.
Newbie here! There isn't enough words to thank you guys for the information shared!
Cheers!
I'm a fairly new re-seller. How does sellhound know if you want to do an auction or BIN? I have a ton of items to list. I'm one person and don't have time to source and list. This could be a God send for me.
and how do they know the price of the item?
So many people don't understand that time really is the most valuable resource we have. You guys get the best tips. Btw that camera feature where you swipe up and down for the brightness, is that solely on iPhones?
I’m not sure, I’ve only used iPhones. Try it on an android and let me know :)
@RALLI ROOTS Is there a benefit to taking the pictures before you do the listings? I usually take my box of items and do the listing on the computer first then add pictures and post from my phone. If there is some sort of benefit id like to know what it is to help myself out. lol
Same same :)
Great Informative Video as always. Can you use Ring light instead of box light? Thanks
Yes, absolutely
Does Sell Hound also authentic Jordan shoes for example?
check*
No, there’s apps like check check that can help with that
One question where did you get the white background looks really nice quality hope you can help me with that :D
Thank you :) you can use the white savage photo paper or just a white poster board. The paper is in our supplies amzn.to/2CCEQVd
Probably just a roll of photo paper from Amazon. Works great.
How many listings would you say it would be worth it for sellhound? I currently have 300 and I feel like I am drowning because I have another 100 items to list
Thanks for the info with the brightness with the phone! Y’all are amazing!
If it’s faster to list on a desk top, and an iPhone takes good pics, how do you get your pics from your iPhone to the desk top? I have an iPhone 6 and it doesn’t have a SD card. Thx for all your help 😃
We use mac computers, so we can just air drop them.
Inkfrog doesn't create listings for you, it's just a management tool. Sell hound you just upload the pics and they do the rest.
About what % cost should we expect from sell hound on each item?
The only fee is the listing fee, everything else is just normal ebay fees. They don’t charge a percentage.
Sellhound is not available in the UK...
Hey Ryan thanks for another great video. How do you advise sellhound what to charge for shipping shoes and boots? Do you use the USPS shoebox for shipping?
What material is the white bent backdrop your shoes were on?
It's like a thin white particle board, smooth on the one side, I think we got it from home depot
@@RALLIROOTS Awesome!! Thanks for the reply and great content!
I don't see the LED Panel light on your Amazon product list. Do you have a link for it? Thanks! Love watching ya'll!!!
Can I ask how do you transfer to your computer or laptop? Not very techy ? Thank you love watching your journey
Nice! Keep doing what works for you :) lot's of ways to win in this game
@@RALLIROOTS that is the truth 🙌 keep us updated on new beanies coming i got the turquoise one and love it with the ball on top
The idea of listing on ebay was so daunting for me. This was such a helpful tip. Thank you so much😊.
That’s a good way to do it :) I still suggest using “sell similar” tho
@@RALLIROOTS Absolutely, that's exactly what I do. I should have mentioned that. What a great option on ebay
Thank you.Have you got a video on how to list multiple items of the same item with small variations ( for example if I had a set of 3 picture frames, how could I offer the buyer a choice of either purchasing the full set,or only one if he prefers to not buy the whole set ) ..and also, how to list totally different multiple listings like for example I have 10 totally different plush toys and do not want to list them in 10 separate listings.Thank you
It’s called a variation listing but there’s guidelines, something like the plush toys or frames I would list separately.
@@RALLIROOTS Thank you for your swift reply
I just tape two white poster boards together and use the top of my deep freezer in my garage for a photo booth. Sometimes simpler is better!
I like it!
Just started trying to make some extra income on ebay and finding these videos so helpful. Thank you!
Just saw this. Sellhound sounds terrific. How do they get it onto *your* account? Also thanks for the pointer about square mode. That was news.
You login through their API
Great Video... How do you remove a permanent marker off the bottom of porcelain and other items??? Thanks!
I'm one of those guys that doesn't use white background I post my stuff in the basement on my wooden desk and I like that background. And when I am buying stuff I usually do buy from people that don't use the white back cause it seems more like a real person.
That’s great :) but it 100% hurts your rankings if you don’t use a white background. Up to you.
I seem to be doing pretty good enough I mean I am a smaller seller I only have around 300 things on ebay.
@@wreckitralph4714 Not saying you wont sell anything just letting you know the facts of SEO...you're welcome to list how you want :) but it's my duty to let you know the facts
Where did you hear the 4 pictures tip exactly? Certain items are fine with one or two photos.
From eBay executives & programers... They’ve said it multiple times.
@@RALLIROOTS Did the say why? What’s the advantage if 1-2 is enough?
Thrift stores here are starting to use paint pen on shoe soles. Any tips to remove these markings?
Goo gone is usually pretty solid
Every time i list it makes me re put in my zip and paypal info. That just started. Did they switch that up?
that's weird, on sellhound or ebay? Try updating the app if you haven't
@@RALLIROOTS its on the ebay app. Its updated. It all started after they changed the way you list Pokemon cards. I will try to find how to fix it. Thanks tho
Yes this just started happening to me also very frustrating! Making listing even more time consuming now.
Hi can a seller use sell hound for just clothes and shoes but then post my other items myself?
Yes
I find we all work upto around 150-200% capacity for some time until we realise we should outsource some work.. sometimes feeling close to breaking, but once you've subbed some work out you quickly see the benefits to both your business progress and your mental health.. thankyou for making your videos! All the best to you both. Can I ask, did you ever get that 5k back off the suppliers son who tried scamming you? Cheers. Mike UK
For sure :) we’re workaholics too so we tend to do the same thing. Still have an open case for that $5600
@@RALLIROOTS was gutted to see that happen to you guys, I hope it gets resolved for you one day. All the best for the coming months! Much love from us. Mike
Thank you for all your videos! I got so overwhelmed with the listing part that I just stopped. Even though my inventory isn't huge, just the peace of mind would be worth Sellhounds fee. Any profit is better than none! The example you gave was for shoes - do you also use Sellhound to list clothing(where measurements are a definite detail to add to the listing)?
We use Sellhound for clothing too :) we’ll add the measurements as a picture
Hi where can I find the sellhound app and is it just for the US, or can it be used in the uk? 🤗🤗
Hi there! We are currently only operating in the US but thank you so much for your interest 🥰we hope we can offer our service overseas someday!
Thanks for the info
Great video! Really appreciate the info. Was wondering if you guys would know of a way to mass upload products to mercari via spread sheet or copy products listings from ebay to mercari? Thank you
Thanks :) we don't sell on Mercari so we wouldn't know how to do that, sorry
@@RALLIROOTS oh ok for some reason I thought you mentioned info your videos that you also sell on Mercari and Posh ... sorry! Thank you anyways. If I discover a way to do I will share the method with you. Thank you.
A sheet, 2 desk lamps and a cell phone with a good camera that allows for manual adjustments can get you very good, clean white background photos. Tip: Use 1:1 square photos and apply a white border to each photo. Provides a cleaner border when the photo isnt 1:1 when viewed on ebay (like when viewed in the ebay app).
thanks for this tip. I'm going to look into SH because that's the process I do not enjoy
This is a great video with soooo many helpful tips!! This has given me the drive to dive into my "death pile", because I'd lost my momentum & drive because listing was so daunting (and nice to hear you even say that it is daunting & time-consuming.) I have ADHD & easy to get discouraged when things get tough or you need a boost, so this video gave me a positive push to get things going again. Thank you so so much & I have subscribed to your channel!😁
I am fairly new at having a store...but I found I can create the listing on my desktop and submit it without pictures. Then go to my phone and click in the draft and add the photos from my phone. This saves a ton of time transferring photos from my phone to the computer.
For sure! That’s a way to do it as well, just backwards.
Thanks for all the tips!! I’m new! I love to source. Getting the sell hound app will be fantastic use of my time!!
I did not know you could adjust the image brightness on an iPhone. That is useful information. Thanks!
Thanks for the tap the screen for brightness tip. I use my iPhone to take my photos 💕
Do you have a recommendation for a desktop? We have always used macs, however Mac isn’t compatible with some things like the zebra laser printer.
Thanks. Learned some good things...especially using the Square setting when taking pics, did not know that
Ryan, excellent! You are a great teacher/explainer! Appreciated very much!
Kim from MN 😊
Question about your tips you gave at the end Ryan... you said to try and do it in a bunch of different tabs. I love that idea but I was under the impression that you couldn't have Ebay open in more than one place at a time because the info wouldn't save properly. This is why I haven't had anyone else helping me because I wanted to have my friend multitasking on her computer in my account. So, you're saying you havent had problems with Ebay open in multiple places or tabs?
Nope, never had an issue doing that. It’s the same account, just multiple tabs
Is there any other service that will list for you like sellhound? I have tons of hard goods in my death pile that I need to list.
