    As a dental hygienist I personally say skip the fluoride. Our goal is to brush and floss away plaque to prevent decay. You do that and you don't need fluoride.

    Thank you for the toothpaste info! I'd like to add that we all should discover that these catch phrases like "zero waste" are not what we're told they mean. I've been researching this for several years and have found that what's happening with our garbage (the trucks all have "zero waste" printed on them) is that they're "telling us" that the garbage is not actually being dumped onto the land taking up more and more valuable land. The garbage is actually being broken down by natural processes where it converts to methane gas, the primary component of natural gas. Methane naturally rises and they pipe it into the natural gas system from deep underground (where it's being broken down) and it rises on its own through the natural gas piping system. The pressure is likely boosted as it travels to our homes. My theory sounds crazy to most people, but if you do lots of independent research and apply logic, you may see that this makes logical sense. The bottom line for the gas company is huge since they're getting free raw material (our garbage) which we pay the garbage company to pick up.

      I live in Sweden and where I live we have to divide our household waste in to 8 bins. One of them is food waste and that goes to making biogas that buses run on. Some paper, like newespaper, paper towels, and the paper trash bags used for food waste, go in there to. The Gov is very open about this and even if you live in a single family home, you must divide out your food waste so that biogas for public transport can be made. So your theory doesn't sound one bit crazy to me. I'm living it in real time and it's great 👍And I'm sure there are other countries doing this to so it's very much a real thing, since like decades or so 😊

      Plastics take forever to break down. Not sure if landfills process it somehow to make it break down faster,but that would also take more energy to do. 🤔

    Good recipe is cinnamon, powdered egg shells, clove, and when your done coconut oil. Most essential oils are fake unless you know the farm or make then yourself. Organic or not at all.

  • @MOAB-UT

    Great video. No to any fluoride. No to charcoal. Yes to coconut oil EVCO. Do you have any alternatives to abrasive baking soda? Just something to thicken it up. Using the much smaller amount is a great tip. I don't want to use bentonite clay because it often has elevated levels of lead according to the FDA so that's a No. Good tips on the essential oils- probably best avoided completely.
    Also, do you refrigerate this or leave it out on the counter? Also, probably would help to use a dark glass jar to protect the shelf life of the ingredients.

    • @BottegaZeroWaste

      I think it should be ok, worst that can happen is that the charge of the clay is not as "strong" but there is debate around whether this is actually true at such low concentrations.

    Qualche video in Italiano arriverà mai? 😍 comunque io avevo trovato una ricetta per il dentifricio: 1,5 cucchiai di Bicarbonato, 1 Cucchiaio di olio di cocco e 5/7 gocce di olio essenziale. Ma mi hai fatto venire dei dubbi sulle quantità di Bicarbonato e di oli essenziali 🤔

    • @BottegaZeroWaste
      @BottegaZeroWaste  4 года назад +3

      Hai ragione! mi piacerebbe fare tipo una serie in Italiano :D Allora secondo me questa ricetta ha troppo bicarbonato e oli essenziali, diminuisci un pochino perchè il bicarbonato è abrasivo, troppo potrebbe impattare lo smalto dei denti. E anche gli oli essenziali terrei massimo 2-3 gocce!
