Best/most useful mods in EU4: Fast Universalis/performance enhancement: nah I have a good PC. Overhaul/ MEIOU and Taxes mod: nah I like the base game more. Uncovered acceptance Indicator mod: S H I T J U S T G O T R E A L
Why no Missions Expanded? It adds so much to so many nations where you usually have to pay DLC bucks for missions which are barely even on par with the missions from the mod.
Thanks for the heads up! I'll check out the mod. Some of the ones included in the video, like M&T and Voltaires Nightmare include many more missions as well.
Jup indeed ME should be added too :P good developer team and nice community around it (with sister mods lik governments expanded and policies expanded)
A Little Disappointed Not Seeing Imperium Universalis, Mesoamerica Universalis Or Third Odyssey: Back To The Motherland On Here (As They're Some Of My All-Time Favourite EUIV Mods), But All In All Fantastic Video!
I love your videos. You are not putting in clickbait staff like 10 mods you MUST HAVE and etc. You also speak quite professionally Anyway, the best mod is Sabaton Music
Love the video's for the reasons you say BUT I hate Sabaton's music so much I consider it a war crime to expose human beings to it. Literally the worst metal band in history. Nauseating suicide inducing shite for the mentally challenged. Just NO! Horrible. Like the Kardassians! Shallow soulless empty garbage. Words fail me!
I found this to have a very good mix of mod categories. I’m glad most of them were actual useful mods, compatible with Ironman, and not more overhauls like a lot of comments wanted.
The Idea Variation mod is a really good one. Yes, some of the new ideas are more OP, but there's so much variation and such a variation that I think can make the game more variable. For one example, I was playing Colonial Brazil where I got big numbers for upkeep, so I could sustain a big army, and I was developing the country like crazy, but my morale were shit, so my wars was spreaing as much siege as possible against my neighboors. The game can be too "Let's Go To War!", so the Idea Variation mod can add a more variable type of game to the player and expand the war aspect of it; of course, it's not that much, but it's significant.
My friend recommended I get EU4, since I got a gaming PC for Christmas and could run it, so I did, he taught me a lot about it, still am learning but it's fun, long story short he suggests I get a mod called "Extended Timeline" which I did, and I love it!! We used it for a multiplayer game or two. My first solo EU4 game was with the Cherokee Indians, which I'm still playing, I started in 58 AD, and the Cherokee aren't bad, but it's really really slow starting out. Great video by the way!
Great stuff. Thank you, much appreciated information. I Love the map fonts and the Orbis Terrarum - but i like a more readable font for the regular infoboxes etc and noticed there was font mod with the Verdana font somewhere in there too.
Not sure if it’s been updated in awhile but I enjoy the “ long after the end” mod for EU4. I’d check out Meiou and Voltaire mods too, but honestly I’ve not tired from most of base game EU4 yet.
the 50+loadingscreens mod is one of the most useful mods for me. Not only does it give you something new to look at, but they are actually much more beautiful than the vanilla loading screen.
I have to say my favorite mod hands down is the expanded ideas mod. Anybody who likes the game should definitely check that out because it adds a whole new level of complexity to the game play, adds more idea slots, and the added policies actually make certain idea groups(cough* maritime *cough) more viable.
Theatrum Orbis Terrarum is by far the best map mod of them all. Everyone who doesn't use it is a filthy heretic and will be purged. I can also recommend the Dynamic Borders addon for TOT, it's very beautfiful and also makes borders thicker when zooming out. Oh, Voltaire's Nightmare. I love it. I hate it. Wonderfully accurate borders, so many small countries. But such a lack of focus! Most if not nearly all countries in the HRE have no flavor at all, instead the devs expand the map further and further and adding features to regions like Iberia and Africa. If they are ever done, this mod will be incredible, but as it stands, the lack of focus and flavor kills all the fun in playing the small nations of the HRE. Novelty factor and micro-patriotism alone aren't enough to keep me playing, since most states are generic in all but their names.
Thank god I watched this, I wanted something like the Dynamic Cultured Music for soooo long, and I also want to give the beyond typus mod a shot ..... those 2 mods take 2.1GB, nice
The first one, Fast Universalis, helped me a lot, I can play the game normaly with no lag, but at the late game it slows to a crawl. Now it's just like I've started a new one from scratch, its running smothly, thanl you Alzabo
Idea Variation and Extended Timeline are the only mods I use (if we don't count a few cosmetic changes) Meiou and Taxes I tried but it was such a big change to normal EU4 that it turned me off. Might try it again later.
I loved MEIOU in EU III, it was the only way I was playing the game. But I didn't adopt it from the beginning in EU IV and now I find it really too complicated to my taste. I can't get past a few years before giving up. One day, when I'll really be in the mood, I'll give it another try...
I’m not sure ‘useful’ was a good term for most of the mods. The low-spec computer one, yes, but how are the others *useful?* The graphical mods look nice (I even use TOT), but where are they helpful? No offense but I’d consider these to allow a player to keep playing if they get bored of the base game. Maybe if it was pointed out how it was useful, I would understand better. Also, using that critique, it would’ve been nice to see the, albeit outdated, Imperium Universalis mod on the list as quite a few people noted. It’s a shame you forgot to add it, but oh well.
I use fast universalis and uncovered acceptance pretty much all the time now, great mods. I’m also a big fan of the century gothic (aka stellaris) font mod to massively improve readability and Arumba’s keyboard shortcuts mod to make navigating the game a little quicker.
Starting playing eu4 with dlc (a lot) and i find your videos amazing :) i'am a min/max type of player, so i find your top 10... vid really helpful :) thx for great content
MEIOU is based off of the Habsburg saying AEIOU, which means “Austria will rule the world” so MEIOU is basically saying “I will rule the world.” Clever.
I thought a WC run as a major country back in 1.1 was tedious. Can't imagine what's it like now with 1.30 rules and these mods with a gazillion new provinces.
Can someone help me with Beyond Typus 11.0 mod ? I can't play it, but I don't really know why. I put unpacked mod into mod folder, run eu4, enable BT, run a game and I still have normal eu4, not modded. I don't know what to do now, cuz I'd really like to play this mod.
Extended time line also has a great support site: extended-timeline.wikia.com/wiki/Extended_Timeline_Wiki. Youll find basic info on most countries in the game. Im currently adding more when i have the time. Most of the world has already been updated so all countries are represented on the site. Only places like mexico need some more love. If you need to find a TAG of a country or some other information this site is great as a resource.
VeF should imo be on the list. It really makes blobbing harder (which I like), gives you 140 years more playtime (1306 startdate I think?) and much more.
is there a mod that makes dealing with rebels less boring and quicker? ie highlighting the provinces they will spawn in better and moving the map to where they will spawn? also.. a mod that makes the game not keep swapping map modes when i reload a save, and doesnt keep moving the map back to my capital when i reload?
a few mods you should've (or could've) included (just a few suggestions): MEIOU and Taxes (duh) Imperium Universalis (yes, Imperator exists, but still) Oceania Expanded (expands oceania) Missions Expanded (more custom missions)
Though every one of these mods are interesting, the first one it is particularly to me. I've got a more than decent pc, with a good 4gb graphic card and 8 gb of ram, but I always tend to play beyond 1821, sometimes even centuries, and to conquer a couple or 3 of full continents, so it tends to become laggy with time. no more ;)
Hey Radioactive, I do have a DLC guide, you can see it in my EU4 guides playlist or on my mainpage. Its from about 1.5 months ago. Thanks for watching.
So has anyone playing Extended Timeline noticed the fucking Dacian Space Marines? Now I know the numbers that ET produces are little more extreme but Dacia gets a 10% Discipline buff... that's a lot.
I had every single one of the mods mentioned in this video. not hard since I never uninstall mods and download every mod that even sounds like a good idea
remove c keybind from military interface (mod) I think this is the most useful mod ever in EUIV. When a political screen exits on your screen while you are controlling your army you can press C to close the political screen with this mod.

I'm more of a "get gnomed everytime you load up eu4" type of guy myself

Best/most useful mods in EU4:
Fast Universalis/performance enhancement: nah I have a good PC.
Overhaul/ MEIOU and Taxes mod: nah I like the base game more.
Uncovered acceptance Indicator mod: S H I T J U S T G O T R E A L
It doesn’t matter how good your pc is because without multi core support even an absolute monster pc would have lag in eu4.
@@retroflame3104 meh, still runs better than HOI IV
I remember Voltaire nightmare past versions were France was like 3 provinces but 50 force limit at the start date
Why no Missions Expanded? It adds so much to so many nations where you usually have to pay DLC bucks for missions which are barely even on par with the missions from the mod.
I support this comment since I know the Missions Expanded developer!
Thanks for the heads up! I'll check out the mod. Some of the ones included in the video, like M&T and Voltaires Nightmare include many more missions as well.
Unfortunately It's Not Compatible With Third Odyssey: Back To The Motherland..
This is my favorite EU4 Mod. No new mechanics, just flavor.
Jup indeed ME should be added too :P good developer team and nice community around it (with sister mods lik governments expanded and policies expanded)
