- This episode is inspired by what will happen in Avengers: Endgame. At the ending of Avengers: Infinity War, Thanos succeeded in using the Infinity Gauntlet to eliminate half of the Marvel Universe. But what if this happened in real life? Would you be able to survive? How would society function after such a decimation? And could this end up being a good thing for humanity?
Avengers: Endgame is a 2019 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics superhero team the Avengers, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.
Our world has approximately 7.7 billion people on it... until now. Half of the world's population has been snapped out of existence. Instantly. If you happened to be one of the 3.8 billion people left having survived this mass wipe out, what would happen to you and more importantly, would our planet recover?

From an ethical perspective, has Thanos done the right thing? The core problem is not how many of us there are but how we use the planet and share its resources. In theory, we could have 14 billion people and still have a thriving planet, as long as we use our resources wisely. People are not pollution. Blaming too many people for driving the destruction of our planet is like blaming too many trees for causing bushfires. The video makes this point at the end, just wanted to underline that.

Sure, I would definitely try to be in that world of given the 50 % chance. We can use resources the optimum way but still pollution problem can not be easily solved. Even if the Earth will be re populated in a century, it will buy us some time for sustainable technology.
But didn't Thanos wiped out 50 percent of all creatures? That would mean that plants and other food resources would have reduced to half. Then the change is not for the good right?

I don’t think Thanos helped the planet. Even by snapping out half of sentient life, he killed half of all animals that are able to perceive and feel things so livestock too. Thanos had a flaw in his logic, but you can't expect an evil supervillain to be a genius. The snap didn't just wipe out half of intelligent life, the snap wiped out half of ALL life in the universe, and his goal was to conserve resources, but life consumes life, so he wiped out half the resources too. Every culture in the universe would still be left with the exact same amount of limited resources.
That’s a flawed logic as well. The resource to person ratio stays the same only in the initial stages. The reproductive cycle of plants and animals that we use as food is relatively short, and much shorter than our reproductive cycle, which would lead to abundance

the problem is what he is doing is slowing the problem. Like in the video we will eventually just repopulate and the once plentiful resource would be scarce. If the stones were that powerful he couldive instead of killing half the population in the universe he couldive made it so that all living beings did not need to eat food to survive or create a super seed that can feed millions or billions then spread that seed to the various planets. The list can go on on how he couldive done it differently.

Elemental Jedi that’s half the point of the movie. He isn’t evil so much as following a flawed belief. What he actually did was something really good for the universe but bad for its inhabitants and obviously bad from a survival standpoint. @@RobRack well for number 2 I can say that since thanos sacrificed gamora the soul stone has connected with thanos and thanos cant be killed as the soul stone will always find him and keep him alive (sorta like thors axe) so they have to somehow get around the fact that the soul stone has bonded with thanos and basically making him immortal

@@payton4786 no, the problem isn't the scarcity of food. The problem is that if more food is produced, the greater supply there is, the lower demand there is, resulting in lower prices on the food. To prevent this, the U.S. (other countries probably do this too) pays farmers to not produce over a cetain amount of food so profit remains in the food industry. In reality, the U.S. could EASILY feed the entire world alone and have lots of leftover food if that was a primary focus. Unfortunately, that would destroy the profits of the food industry, so that's not reality 😢. Politics 😔
