I’m going to have as much natural light as possible in my cottage build. My apartment bathroom vanity lighting is brutal in summer. So, I’m in Los Angeles and it’s super warm, I’m having a hot flash, and the lights are cooking my face. Why are vanity bulbs so hot 🥵?
I settled back on my sofa for a short afternoon break. You said, "baskets are our buddies". I immediately paused the video, ran upstairs to the attic, pulled out three baskets, went straight to the master bathroom and tried them on top of a cabinet. I had toilet paper stored in with the towels but they kept falling behind the adjacent drawer space. Not only does the basket look good, but it serves a good purpose! Thanks for the idea and the quick workout!
OMG I LOVE THIS!!! 🤣❤️So glad that those baskets now serve a great purpose than collecting dust in the attic!! 🙌🏼 Who would've thought that using things you ALREADY have can make your space look EVEN better?! 😆Thank you so much for sharing this, I love that I could inspire you to get up and solve a problem you once had!!! 😘💞💞
I have a little bathroom. Decided to make it look bigger by showing off height. 45in mirror and my shower curtain rod placed at the top of ceiling. We also used a super high gloss paint for ceiling to bounce light
Kim!!! What a great way to make your bathroom bigger - use your height!! 👏🏼Seems like you know what you're talking about!!! 💖🤗 Thank you so much for sharing this, I am sure everyone in the comments is going to LOVE this tip!!! 🤩💕🌟
Oh, my flat had one of those when I moved in (rented). I flipping hate it, in general. Specifically, I don’t know who installed but I’m sure they lacked the necessary skill set. It is noisy as a freight train. My downstairs neighbour has the same door. You can hear almost everything in this building (thank the stars there are only 4 tenants). Hers are as noisy as mine so we know each others 🚽 schedules whether we want to or not. I am still pushing for an outward swinging door. Heck, I’ll put a warning bell on it like a truck in reverse, would still be less noisy. The door is not flush, so let’s just say, nothing is private. That’s only ok for a hermit (thankfully I’m close) but it’s ridiculous. Glad you’re situation worked better. Wish me luck 🚪
I just ordered a beautiful makeup table for my bedroom and just received email that it’s out of stock….bummer. I can’t wait to sit and makeup leisurely.
I've been thinking about adding high shelf storage recently. When you mentioned using the space "over the loo", I burst with pride for my husband who built a diaper changing table that hangs up over our toilet and then folds down (ONE handed) to use it! It's perfect! Doesn't get more "sexy" than that!!! hahaha
One of my bathrooms has a cabinet and shelves over the toilet, gives lots of storage in a small full bathroom, the toilet is in kind of a nitch so it works well,
Well, if these are examples of “tiny” bathrooms mine must be not in design literature. Interesting ideas though that I may try to incorporate. Thank you.
R!!! 🤩🤩 It's SO hard to find high quality images of truly TINY bathrooms to use in these videos!! 💚 But don't worry - these tips are made with REALLY small spaces in mind!!!! 🌟 I wish the visuals matched the ideas in this video a little better, but I'm SO glad I could share some tips you might use!!! Let me know if you try them - I want to hear how it goes!!!! 😘💙 Thank you so much for watching!!! ❤️🥰
@@karenmagner7047 When you're searching, also include skoolies/bus conversations & van conversations & tiny houses. Tons of great ideas (also some not so great, but you've gotta decide that for yourself)
Love your teeny tiny tips! I was never a fan of hanging towels on hooks until I owned a 700 sq ft lake house that sleeps eight and has one teeny tiny bathroom. Now all 8 have a place to hang towels. Also maximized the space over the toilet with a cabinet. There is a bin for each guest for their personals. Everything is out of site and looks neat and tidy. It certainly was a challenge!
OMG Donna look at you go with these AMAZING small space solutions!!! 💙🌟 I'm a HUGE fan of both of these options...good for you making that lake house bathroom SHINE!! 🤩🤩 Thank you SO much for sharing your success with all of us in these comments...I LOVE hearing about you guys' projects!! 🥰💚
My approach to small bathrooms is not to load the room up with lots of awkward shelving and junk and dust collecting baskets above the toilet or under the sink. Doing so just creates too much visual clutter and makes the tiny bathroom look smaller and over stuffed. I say keep it simple and declutter. If you need a million small tubes and jars find a vanity that offers you drawers - limit the amount of stuff you keep to what you actually use and organize it, add in a few extra hand towels washcloths and spare toilet paper in trays inside the drawers. Keep the visual space in the room as decluttered and open as possible so that the room looks as big as possible and you aren’t overwhelmed with how to negotiate arms elbows and knees that could be bumping into upper or lower shelves as you figure out how to negotiate doing your business in this tiny space and remember, you are going to have to clean this room and all this stuff. I also found it interesting that none of the bathroom images looked particularly tiny and that when it came to talking about lighting - every image showed high end completely decluttered bathrooms with nary a shelf or basket visible.
Agree and they gather so much clutter and dust - more work! Why would you use wicker baskets and store piles of towels openly in the bathroom? Steam, dampness = smelly, mouldy baskets and towels. Not everyone has a good extractor system.
I love the idea of an over-the-door shelf. But…..I’ll have to figure out a place for a stool so I can get the towels up there. Also, I have a little cupboard in my half bath above the loo. A tip : close the toilet lid before removing items from the cupboard. 😧
I was just complaining about the lighting in our bathroom to my husband and he offered to change the bulbs. I was frustrated, but now I'm showing him this video!
Hahaha... so you did your part by complaining... how could he not spring to immediate action.. it’s like he doesn’t appreciate how difficult complaining is!
You are awesome. Love your voice, enthusiasm, and passion for design. You're a really good communicator. Thanks for the plethora of design ideas and tips galore.
Angela!! What a sweet comment - THANK YOU!!!! 😍 You guys are always hyping me up, I don't know what I'd do without you guys!!! I am ALWAYS here to help solve your small space designs!! 👏🏼💕🥰
YAY I am so glad I could give you some FUN bathroom tips!!! 🤗🛁 You guys have been asking for this one, so I delivered!!! 🤪 LOL Thank you so much for tuning in and sharing all the love!! 😘🥰❤️
Love you lady. I’m stuck here in the hospital doing battle with Covid and you make be feel better already. So many great ideas, makes me get anxious to be home and introduce some of these wonderful tips.

Lisa - you are fantastic. I’ve used your ideas for small rooms with “angles.” Did all white - made the room look so much bigger and bright and punctuated my art. Color can be brought in with so many varied ideas as you suggest.
YES Vicki!!!! 💙 I absolutely LOVE hearing that you guys are able to use these tips for your projects...that's exactly why I made this channel in the first place!! 💚🥰 SO glad we're on the same page about adding color to small spaces...just because you're working with a neutral palette on your walls doesn't mean you have to miss out of color!!! 👏🏻💕 Absolutely LOVE this comment...thank you so much for tuning in, and thanks for sharing your success with all of us in these comment!! 😘😘
You guys make me LOVE what I do!!! 😍 You all have no clue how much you guys really mean to me, I always appreciate your support on these videos L C!!!🥰💖💖
I like the idea of having a recessed cabinet above the toilet 🚽, very useful and does not take much space! I will definitely recommend it to my clients.
Thank you for showing smaller bathrooms. I'm in a small apartment. I don't have a large luxury bathroom so I am getting some useful, practical tips that I can actually implement.
You don't have to store _everything_ in your bathroom. If your bathroom is tiny it is enough to have one spare toilet paper roll in your bathroom, for example and the other ones are stored somewhere else.
Not storing your make up and jewelry in the bathroom also makes those items last longer since they are not getting the excess humidity and micro particles of waste
If you have a small bathroom, chances are you have a small house. So storage anywhere is going to be a challenge. My bathroom is 8 x 5 that is including the bathtub. It's basically tiny living when you have a small bathroom.
@@solidstate9451 hence why grandma said “chances are”. Meaning it’s likely that your house is also small, not that the scenario described is always the case
I did the white, and the color I popped in is black. 🤪 shower curtain, rug, and art work. My bathroom is 4’x6’. Whoa, say what? Curtain has an image of black rocks that have drops of water on them and a bamboo that’s green. The art work is much the same with a green plant 🌱 thrown in it. I also have a shelving unit above the toilet that has succulents, in cute cement planters. I wanted totally what I thought would be opposite of the bathrooms I saw as a child, the ones with a beach vibe, or a person is living under the sea with the plastic or plaster seahorses. No shells, no blue, no wallpaper clouds. It is small, it’s a rental, it’s functional. But I don’t feel cramped. Thank you for all your video content. It’s the best. 🥰
E!!! I love this!! 💕💚 SO interesting how our childhoods influence our style - good for you for branching out and finding what you LOVE!!! 👏🏻👏🏻 It sounds like you've got all of the small space bathroom techniques DOWN - keep up the good work!! 🌟 Thank you SO much for tuning in and leaving such a super sweet comment - you guys are the best!! 🥰💙
Hi Lisa, thanks so much for these wonderful tips. I was just slightly dissapointment as the bathrooms you showed were not "teeny tiny" but normal size. I was looking for design ideas for true teeny tiny bathroom with 3 piece & not tons of empty floor space. Perhaps you'll revisit this topic again. Thanks again. Be well.
I have a proper lighted make up mirror on top of my antique vanity in my bedroom. Frees up a lot of space in the bathroom, plus now i have all kinds of drawer space for cosmetics, etc.
Lisa, I watch a lot of videos like yours, but you are the queen. I love your enthusiasm and the really great advice. Thanks so much. This tiny bathroom storage one is going to help me so much. Never thought of the high space being wasted. Love this.
Marje!! You have NO IDEA how much this comment has warmed my heart!! Thank you!!! 🥰 I am so glad I can always share the BEST organization tips to help your tiny bathroom out!!! 🛁💙 Thank you for all the support, it means SO much to me!!! 😘💕✨
For my night light, I have a super dim battery-operated candle. Just enough light so you can find your way around without glaring in your eyes when you're half asleep. Adds a lot of ambiance, too, for when you're not stumbling around in the middle of the night. I really like it a lot as an alternative to the overhead glaring light I use for putting on makeup in the morning.
TOTALLY Squally!! 💕👏🏻 Whenever you're doing any sort of detail oriented work, it's SO important to be able to see whats going on!! 💙🌟 You know me and my task lighting!! 😂😂 So glad you could catch the video this week - we miss you at the premiers!! 😘😘
Yet another excellent tutorial! I work for a retail store in Melbourne selling homewares, towels, cushions, quilt covers ect. I often tell my customers to tune into your videos for inspiration. I always learn so much. Thanks from the land of OZ.
Awww Maria this is just the BEST compliment ever!!! 🥰🥰 I am SO honored that you trust me with your customers - that really means the world to me!! 👏🏻💚 Thank you SO much for this super sweet comment - totally made my day!!! 💙😘
I love your videos SO MUCH. Yes, that deserves all caps. 😊. I’m doing an entire house reno, and I knew I needed some kind of modern shelf storage for a guest bath…..that first example of vertical storage was perfect! I love that guests can see the amenities, and don’t have to feel awkward about opening a door to a cupboard or a closet to get something. Now to find that shelf…..
Oooh Dawn YES!!! 💚🤩 I'm SO glad I could show off a solution that might work for you!!! 💕💕 That particular example was from an architect in Toronto I'm pretty sure...I wish I had a link for you!!! 💙 Thank you SO much for this SUPER sweet comment...and good luck on your shelf hunt!!! 😘😘
Aww Sue - you guys just know how to brighten up my day!!! 🥰💛 Thank you so much for this sweet comment and for tuning in!!! I LOVE spending my Saturday mornings chatting with you guys!!! 🌟💖🤗
I have a large square tray that is white with splashes of colour that I use to put my makeup on (and over). Helps protect those counters and isn't blaringly obvious as it somewhat blends with the counter
This was an excellent video! The strip lighting as a night light in the bathroom is a wonderful idea. I already use a plug in night light, but this is so much prettier. And utilizing the wall space behind/above the toilet is brilliant.
Lizard!! I am such a HUGE FAN of these strip lights!! 🤩 They look SO LUXE and are perfect for the nighttime!!! 🌟💚 Thank you so much for watching and leaving this sweet comment, I just LOVE chatting with you guys in the comments!!! 🥰🥰😘❤️
nice looking brushed nickel finish with multiple water spray options Our master bathroom has a standing shower with handheld shower head. We started to see some rust spots in the hose not to mention heavy mineral built ups in the shower head because our house has very hard water despite water softener we have. My wife picked out this handheld shower head to replace our old one because she loves the brush nickel finish to match our bathroom decors but this turned out to be very impressive handheld shower head. Although I have replaced shower heads many times in the past, it came with nice instruction on how to replace it for those who's not familiar with it. My only advise would be to use wrench to hold the base spout when removing and installing the holding adapter so you don't accidently twist and damage the base pipe when you over tighten it. I really appreciate that it came with plenty of plumber's tape because you really want to put that on before connecting different parts so that there's no water leak in between threads. This is one of most common mistakes and reasons why there's leak after installing it. Very happy to see that they have provided plumber's tape to remind you to use it! It also had rubber rings/washers in each connector but it also came with extra one, which is nice. They also included a shower drain cover to prevent hair from going in to the drainage, which is a nice bonus. I really love the brush nickel finish, which makes it look elegant and expensive. The 7 different water spray setting is nice to have so you can change it for different purpose. We will most likely leave it on one setting for most of the times but it's nice to have option to change it when needed, such as jet spray for cleaning the shower wall, etc. After replacing the shower head, I didn't see any leak and the stainless steel hose feels sturdy. I also like that I can rotate and tilt the shower head holder and it stays in place. Overall, very happy with this shower head! amzn.to/3gVZIrH ( AMAZON )
Such great information and beautiful examples! You made me do some thinking. I have a white master bath (with great lighting of course) and have added shades of green in the rugs, towels and green-ish botanical prints on the walls. You made me think of putting my orchids in there because there is great sunlight for them and my husband just built a beautiful shelves above the toilet. They will look great and will love the humidity! Thanks Lisa, you're a doll!
OMG Marilyn!!! 💕👏🏻👏🏻 Have you been looking at my instagram?? 😆😆 I LOVE adding some plant accents to bathrooms!! 💚👏🏻 You're totally right - it's a great place for flowers that crave that humidity!!! 🤩 SO glad I could get the gears turning on this FABULOUS idea - don't forget to let me know how it turns out!!! 💙
I just love your energetic ''Sales'' talk, fun to watch and at the same time very very helpful and inspiring! watching from Kerry, Ireland. I loved all the videos and looking forward for more tips. ( Neneth Gutay from Ireland.)
In my tiny powder room, instead of painting it, I hung a huge piece of art in colors that I like. It is lovely and makes you want to not stay for too long:-)
LOL Cathy!!! Now that's a strategy!! 😂❤️ No hogging the bathroom!!! 😆 Art is always a good way to add a splash of color to a space...love that you've found a piece that works for you!! 💕💕 You guys KNOW I love a bold powder room - sounds like you're NAILING it!! 🤩 SO glad you could join us for another week of design fun - you rock!!! 💙😘
I’m intrigued that US bathrooms never seem to have heated towel rails, which are everywhere here in UK . They dry your towels to perfection and are cosy to use!
We bought a free standing unit and hardly used it. The towels dry overnight anyway and the bathroom was always toasty so we never needed a warmed towel. We donated the rack .
Some great storage ideas here Lisa, thanks. I so agree about not using strong colours. When I first moved into my tiny flat I painted the wall where the basin hung in coral. Fabulous colour. Trouble is I looked like an umpalumpa when I looked in the mirror! It was repainted white within a week. Years later bathroom has been totally remodeled in palest of grey with white suite and (very) small touches of colour. So much better.
OMG Gail EXACTLY!!! 🌟👏🏻 I am such a color fan...but when it comes to things that will really effect the lighting I'll be getting ready in, I ONLY trust neutrals!! 😂😂 LOVE that you've found a better palette AND figured out how to add some color...way to go!!! 💕🤩
Thank you, Lisa! My husband and I are 2,000 miles away from our home, renovating a 400 sq ft ski condo at the moment. We rent it out when we aren't using it, so it's a challenge trying to create spaces that look good, but don't break the bank and make the spaces flow better.
Lisa I love you and your channel. I am learning so much about design from you. Love the fact that you're so knowledgeable about the subject matter. You explain well and you showcase the explanations with great examples and illustrations. And I must say I absolutely love, love, love your fun, bubbly, and sometimes comedic personality. You're the best!
OMG Alphonso this is just the SWEETEST comment ever!!! 🌟❤️ Hearing that you guys are learning from these videos always makes my DAY...nothing makes me happier than sharing design tips that you guys can actually use!! 🤩🤩 Thank you SO much for the kind words and for tuning in to share the design fun - it really does mean the world to me!! 🥰💚💚
Im wheelchair bound. Master bath has a roll in shower. A small closet. And nickel towel racks. And sink has no storage underneath. Or on floor near toilet. Recessed lighting in shower and center of toilet sink . Over mirror 4 bulbs lighting for makeup application. Brown, beige consistent tiles in all baths and into kitchen backsplash. And barn door in brught red. One red tub for excess clean towels in nickel open shelves over toilet.
Your tips on a teeny bathroom, was excellent. This was the first time I came across you. Thank You!!! Your suggestions were extremely helpful, informative and completely doable for any income level. Obviously I am impressed with you. One of the things that was especially noticeable was that you utilized the time without wasting time talking endlessly about yourself, as many on this channel unfortunately do. Of course I have now subscribed. Looking forward to viewing your past videos. 😘🌹👏👏👏
Clicked on the video out of curiosity since we’re planning to buy a house in the near future and instantly subscribed. Love your upbeat personality ❤️❤️❤️
Bella!!! YIPPEEE welcome to the channel, THANK YOU for subscribing!!! 🥳🎉Seems like you found my channel at the right time!! 🤣 LOL Thank you so much for saying hi and being part of this amazing community!!! 🥰💚
Jen!!! SO GLAD that I could share such an amazing bathroom piece with you!! 👏🏼 Seems like it blew a lot of people's minds, I LOVE IT!!! 🤯🥰 Thank you so much for tuning in and for ALL the support!!!! 😇💜
I've put battery task lights up high next to the door. They're not noticeable in the room but they light the bathroom on your way in at night. I also have them at the foot of the bed and so when my feet hit the ground, my path is lit to the bathroom. No more bumping my feet into the door trim in the night.
Madison!! Those strip lights can be SO USEFUL for those very reasons!! 👏🏼 Plus they make your tiny bathroom look VERY luxe!!! 🤩💁🏼♀️Thank you so much for sharing this - glad to know that someone else is a BIG FAN of this type of lighting!!! 😝💜
OMG right??? 👏🏻💙 I LOVE a bright white bathroom...can't beat classic, right?? 🤩🤩 SO glad I could share a few of my favorite small bathroom tips - thank you so much for this super sweet comment!! ❤️ LOVE my channel fam!! 🥰💚
Very useful info for me in planning my cottage build! I’m currently in an apartment, so I’m limited. But, I use a 3M removable hook on the back of my bathroom door. It’s great for my “dressing gown collection “ I’m so impressed that Lisa is not only a designer - but also a magician 😂
Marnie!!! Never doubt a 3M hook, those things are TOUGH!!! 😆👏🏼 I am so glad that I could share these yummy tips to you for your future cottage build!! That is going to look so DIVINE!!!! 😍💖
The tips come at the right time. After a renovation, I am redesigning my bathroom in my studio in the city. In my big bathroom in my house, none of this is so complicated. But in my very small bathroom without daylight in the city, there is much more to consider. Vertical storage space and baskets are also my options. Thank you, I love your handy hints and tricks...design solutions and last but not least your sense of aesthetics!
Helena!!! Talk about perfect timing!!! 🤣 SO glad I could share some ideas and tips for your upcoming renovation, you HAVE to tell me how it goes!!! 😍👏🏼💗
I recently moved into a Scandi-modern townhouse, and my natural style is Scandi-folklore-boho. The bathroom is all neutral-modern ice white in utilities and tiles. And no window. Been totally stumped until I realised I have this huge Indian teak boho-style cupboard - it’ll swallow towels, baskets, general storage, and the rest of the bathroom can be a quietly complimentary-neutral style from there - creamy-sandy naturals, sage green, baskets and so on This is extra perfect bc that gorgeous cupboard needs moving from where it’s currently at: too big, too dark, too boho
Katarina!! YES, utilize that cupboard and add some life to your bathroom!! 🤗that is going to compliment your style very nicely!! 😍🙌🏼 THANK you so much for sharing this and for including me on your Saturday morning!!! 😘🧡🧡
Very timely!! Our main bathroom is soooo small and I am starting to renovate it. If we were going to stay here I would consider expanding it, borrowing some space from our overly large bonus room next to it. So these tips are FABULOUS. One thing you did not mention was ceilings. The builder that built this house put - brace yourself - popcorn texture on the ceilings even over the bath/shower combo. (Insert Scream). It has GOT to go. Once that is done and the ceilings are flat and smooth, the ceiling will be painted the same very light colour as the walls to be making it an envelope. Sorry, my walls will NOT be white. I spent far too many years in white apartments that just ended up looking dingy, dirty, and utterly boring and just NO THANK YOU to any more white walls. But it will be a light neutral colour of some sort that makes me feel happy! (As I did in my last house.) My shower curtain will also be hung ceiling height and that is where my colour will come from along with my towels. Totally going to steel the idea of recessing a cabinet with doors over the toilet. Genius!! Another thing I am going to do that many designers today have nightmares about... my countertop is going to extend over the toilet - a banjo I think they call it. I don't care!!! I like to have easy access to kleenex that doesn't get splashed by water and my husband likes his battery operated radio handy. The banjo potion over the toilet is where the kleenex and radio hang out. Sad but true! LOL (Other than liquid soap, nothing else is on my countertop. ( I hate clutter and open shelves require clutter.) Bonus points will be the banjo will provide space to place items taken out of the genius recessed cabinet over the toilet!!
I am watching this for a second time. I plan to turn an unused back hallway into a walk-by closet and the Ikea planner says it's even more hanging space than our current walk in closet. I don't like our current walk-in closet at all. It's adjacent to our too-small master bathroom and gets steamy, not good for clothes. I am currently drawing plans to clear the current walk-in closet contents to the unused back hallway and combine the current walk-in closet with the current bathroom while upgrading and adding plumbing. To the toilet and shower current line-up, I want to add a French door to a new enclosed deck with cooling tub outside while inside a bidet/shower combo and dressing table/sink combo. I'm very excited, in case you were wondering why I comment so much! So far I am working on drawings, have picked all the materials and am very close to creating a budget!
OMG Melody that is SO exciting!!! 💕👏🏻👏🏻 I LOVE how well you're maximizing your space...SO smart to turn the current closet into a bathroom expansion!!!! 🤩DEFINITELY keep me updated...I love hearing all about you guys' projects!!!! 🥰💚
Lisa ... you’re brilliant, I live in England so most of us have small bathrooms here , fantastic ideas as always you are such a talented interior designer, thank you 😊
OMG Julie!! 💕😘 This is just the SWEETEST comment!!! 🤩🤩 I've spent a little bit of time in England myself, so I TOTALLY know what you mean!! 💙 Maximizing i just SO important...and it's totally doable!! 👏🏻👏🏻 SO glad I could share a few of my favorite tips with you this weekend...thank you so much for the kind words!!! 🥰💚
Please don’t place your towels above toilet. It’s not sanitary, when you flush, the particles float all over your bathroom and will sit on toothbrushes and towel. Towels stay fresh when away from humidity of a bathroom after all. Close the lid when flush, it will reduce the nastiness in the air. However, if you have a huge bathroom then go crazy and place all your towels in the bathroom;))
Thank you so much for sharing this light!!! 👏🏼 Love reading all the fun tips you guys have to share in the comments!!! 🙈💕 Thank you so much for tuning in this AM!!! 🙌🏼☀️😎
Agreed, I have a tiny bathroom but everything is kept in a cupboard and I never keep my toothbrush in the same room as the toilet, just a no from me. If it goes in your mouth it doesn't share the same room open air style, pretty easy guideline.
Yes!!! 👍🏻 we are not Barbarians! Close the lid… it is only meant to be open when using the toilet. 🚽 seeing the open bowl of the toilet is gross. 🤢 Elevate your manners. Please keep the lid closed.
Am I the only one who keeps their toothbrush in the cabinet? I concur with the people who point out the utility of the toilet seat to reduce the contagion of which you speak.
I landed on your video at the best possible time! I'm ready to update my previously boring remodel and was considering a ridiculously broad range of designs and colors. This will help me to settle down and make it better instead of creating a monster of an artistic installation, haha.
I inherited my family home complete with a tiny second bathroom tiled with Mamie Eisenhower pink tiles bordered in black. I was going to remodel but actually I fell in love with it. The wall above the chin high tile I wallpapered with Martinique style paper with a white background. The toilet and sink are white. I absolutely love it. It's unique and beautiful. It makes me smile when I walk In. There is a window at head height on the side wall so I get natural light by which I put my makeup on with no problem. Small pink bathrooms are a treasure. The main bathroom is neutral. I rarely use it as it is boring by comparison.
I would literally decide to spend time in that bathroom luxury bath, wine, candles play Frank Sinatra / Dean Martin have a date w/ myself read decor books while spilling wine by candle light nothing feels better than being taken back ❤️ ice cream & Champagne always ready for a pink room regardless of where in the house.
Michelle!!! SO happy that this video could clear up some questions a lot of you guys had!!! 👏🏼 Thank you soo much for this sweet comment and for supporting the channel!!! 🥰❤️

Using the vertical space
I'd love to know where you lived in Europe!
This is an excellent video ! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Thanks for those Great ideas.
Cute
I have a little bathroom. Decided to make it look bigger by showing off height. 45in mirror and my shower curtain rod placed at the top of ceiling. We also used a super high gloss paint for ceiling to bounce light

I've had a makeup table in my bedroom for over 20 years - wouldn't be able to live without it!
I envy you.
My makeup table is a necessity since I share the bathroom with my husband.
I just ordered a beautiful makeup table for my bedroom and just received email that it’s out of stock….bummer. I can’t wait to sit and makeup leisurely.
Be you❤
HEY GUYS!!! Hang out with me and my team during LIVE chat on the premier!!! Looking forward to seeing you guys!

Bummer I missed the live premier today! See you next week Lisa......stay cool
I've been thinking about adding high shelf storage recently. When you mentioned using the space "over the loo", I burst with pride for my husband who built a diaper changing table that hangs up over our toilet and then folds down (ONE handed) to use it! It's perfect! Doesn't get more "sexy" than that!!! hahaha
HAHAHA!!! Your' right that's downright SEXY! I LUV it! xoxoxo
...same...
Yeah, my bathroom is literally 6x6', and this includes a radiator, toilet, pedestal sink (aka no storage), and a clawfoot tub 🙃
Mine, too! Maybe I should look at what they do for RV/camper bathroom storage!
@@karenmagner7047 When you're searching, also include skoolies/bus conversations & van conversations & tiny houses. Tons of great ideas (also some not so great, but you've gotta decide that for yourself)
Love love baskets for storage (hiding) and hooks for towels to dry - you MUST dry the towels people!
Hahah YES Erica!! 🤣 Hooks are VERY important in the bathroom!!! 👏🏼👏🏼 Thank you so much for watching and tuning in this AM!!! 💕🥰❤️
OMG! You have the sweetest personality. Thank you for wonderful tips
Thanks for watching!
And where do you put you bath stuff? In my tiny linen closet outside the room?
Agree completely- can’t stand open shelves pretty much anywhere (except bookshelves) visually cluttered and makes any space look smaller
Agreed I've been learning a Lot about decluttering instead of storage stuffing I Needed it!!
A place for stool.. in the bathroom stool goes in the toilet. Where else would you have been putting it? Wait, don’t answer that...
Lol
Oh you made me laugh, yes close that toilet lid!
Great tip, I've also learned to keep the plug in the sink. Too many butterfly backs from earrings have gone down there!
I use a folding stool that I rest against the wall behind the door
I was just complaining about the lighting in our bathroom to my husband and he offered to change the bulbs. I was frustrated, but now I'm showing him this video!
Rhea!! I hope this video helped out your dilemma and convinces your hubby to upgrade that lighting!! 😝💜
Hahaha... so you did your part by complaining... how could he not spring to immediate action.. it’s like he doesn’t appreciate how difficult complaining is!
I can’t believe someone would watch without subscribing…when you learn so much. So much information in short videos.

I like the leaning "ladder" shelf over the toilet - sure beats some of the other storage solutions for that area that I've seen! Thanks, Lisa!
I love your upbeat attitude! Thanks for the tips.
Candace!! This is such a nice comment - I am so glad you guys have fun watching my videos!!! 🤗💕Always here to deliver the BEST bathroom tips!!! 🛁💙💙
Great tips for extra tall people. My kids and I would need to squeeze in a step ladder somewhere to reach 90% of your storage ideas 🤣
I have one too!👍🏻
Thank you for including ideas for RENTERS! We want to live in a beautiful space too. ❤
Your voice and enthusiasm makes me happy! It's nice to love what you do. (Hair for me!)
You guys make me LOVE what I do!!! 😍 You all have no clue how much you guys really mean to me, I always appreciate your support on these videos L C!!!🥰💖💖
What about dust on open shelving? No one ever talks about dust. Besides the dust factor, you have a lot of very practical ideas! 👍🏼
I always think about that too. And besides the wooden storage and wicker basket grows mould after some times in smaller bathroom.
Yeah I think dust and ick when things are in baskets and out in the open. And things over the toilet... kind of ew. : )
What about windows??
I would love if you could show actual TINY bathrooms next. Thanks in advance 😊
This woman's personality is ment for Television! Shes soo grest on camera!
We found out how "slapped together" our house was when we bought a few years ago, so now I have the chance to make it how I want! LOVE these ideas❤
That is awesome!
I like the idea of having a recessed cabinet above the toilet 🚽, very useful and does not take much space! I will definitely recommend it to my clients.
You are.so Fun!! To listen to you is a Joy. I'll be looking through your videos Thanks!!🙏🙏🙏🕊
YAYthanks!
Thank you for showing smaller bathrooms. I'm in a small apartment. I don't have a large luxury bathroom so I am getting some useful, practical tips that I can actually implement.
Love the idea of low lighting under cabinets. Easy peasy:)!
IKR Judi?!?! It can be pretty cost effective as well as making your bathroom look LUXE!!! 🤩🤩 Thank you so much for watching!!! 💗😇✨
@@grandmaraps In older houses bathrooms are small without the house being small....
Not every house has an abundance of storage.
Be well.
The restrooms shown were humongous actually.
Yep. My bathroom is really tiny. My flat is tiny and the bathroom looks like an afterthought.
Very much enjoy your channel. Such great tips. I'm utilizing many of them. In addition enjoy your sense of humor. So glad I found your channel.
Veronica!! OMG this means so much to me, thank you sooo much for this sweet comment!!! 🥰 I am always here to help solve your design dilemmas!!! 💓🏠
I use Deer Antler as hooks/ towel hooks etc. I find them at the farm quite often.
Agreed, the lighting in work areas (bathrooms, laundries, kitchens) is highly important.
A little surprise party when you open the drawer! Love it!!!
Tracey!!! Why not have a little bit of fun INSIDE the drawer?! 👏🏼 What a GROOVY take on adding color!!! 😉💛 LOL thank you so much for tuning in!! 🥰🥰
I love your enthusiasm with shelves. 😃
Thank the universe for you Lisa Holt...I think you're Fabulous 😍
Aww Sue - you guys just know how to brighten up my day!!! 🥰💛 Thank you so much for this sweet comment and for tuning in!!! I LOVE spending my Saturday mornings chatting with you guys!!! 🌟💖🤗
And I feel so privileged to have your time 💕
I have a large square tray that is white with splashes of colour that I use to put my makeup on (and over). Helps protect those counters and isn't blaringly obvious as it somewhat blends with the counter
OMG! You have the sweetest personality. Thank you for wonderful tips👍🙏💜
You are just sooo kind Sladjana!!! 🤗 Thank you so much for supporting the channel and watching - it truly means the WORLD to meee!!! 💜🌎🥰
I am loving and learning everytime I watch your videos

This was an excellent video! The strip lighting as a night light in the bathroom is a wonderful idea. I already use a plug in night light, but this is so much prettier. And utilizing the wall space behind/above the toilet is brilliant.
Lizard!! I am such a HUGE FAN of these strip lights!! 🤩 They look SO LUXE and are perfect for the nighttime!!! 🌟💚 Thank you so much for watching and leaving this sweet comment, I just LOVE chatting with you guys in the comments!!! 🥰🥰😘❤️
nice looking brushed nickel finish with multiple water spray options
Our master bathroom has a standing shower with handheld shower head.

I'm trying to think of what kind of art makes you NOT want to stay for too long...
I am glad l watched this video... especially that bit about the space saving ladder over the toilet.
Love your enthusiasm!!!
Jo Ann!!! I just LOVE filming these videos, can you tell?! 😝 Thank you so much for watching and subscribing!!! 🥰💚
Enjoying the depth of your work. It's like a book that's a touchstone. "Adapting with Aging" by Various Authors
The problem with high up storage is reaching it. Carring a ladder into the bathroom to get a towel is the pits
Precisely. At five foot one, vertical option is not an option for me. Sorry 😂
Dollar store reaching arms really are great
Yup
Love that you also provide ideas for renters❤
I’m intrigued that US bathrooms never seem to have heated towel rails, which are everywhere here in UK . They dry your towels to perfection and are cosy to use!
I know right AliBee?! I miss having those in my bathroom when I lived in the UK - I wish it could be common in the US!!! 🙈😍💕💕
I'm often jealous of that feature!!!Lucky you!!
@@LisaHoltDesign How about a video on this! I want those in my house! How do we do it??
We have perfect warm weather almost yearlong here in California, pointless , we don’t have your gloomy cold weather
We bought a free standing unit and hardly used it. The towels dry overnight anyway and the bathroom was always toasty so we never needed a warmed towel. We donated the rack .
Thanks for the tip for bathroom spaces above toilets
Happy to help!
Best small bathroom ideas video I’ve seen. Thanks so much!
Thank you, Lisa! My husband and I are 2,000 miles away from our home, renovating a 400 sq ft ski condo at the moment. We rent it out when we aren't using it, so it's a challenge trying to create spaces that look good, but don't break the bank and make the spaces flow better.
You are so funny and kind, I love not only your style but also your personality . Great video, thank you for sharing.
Barbarella!! Thank you so much for this sweet comment - you guys truly know how to hype me up!!! 🤩💕 SO blessed!!! 🙈
Great video! I especially love the use of shelving above the toilet. It's a great way to maximize the entire space for more storage.

I just found your channel - it's great. It's what HGTV used to be. Thanks!

@@LisaHoltDesign I will! Unfortunately, everything is going so slowly because of Covid. The craftsmen are fully booked for weeks and months.
I recently moved into a Scandi-modern townhouse, and my natural style is Scandi-folklore-boho. The bathroom is all neutral-modern ice white in utilities and tiles. And no window.
Been totally stumped until I realised I have this huge Indian teak boho-style cupboard - it’ll swallow towels, baskets, general storage, and the rest of the bathroom can be a quietly complimentary-neutral style from there - creamy-sandy naturals, sage green, baskets and so on
This is extra perfect bc that gorgeous cupboard needs moving from where it’s currently at: too big, too dark, too boho
Katarina!! YES, utilize that cupboard and add some life to your bathroom!! 🤗that is going to compliment your style very nicely!! 😍🙌🏼 THANK you so much for sharing this and for including me on your Saturday morning!!! 😘🧡🧡
Lisa give me so much energy💗 honestly Lisa you are the best!!!
Nana!!! WOW you really know how to brighten up my dayyy!!! 🙈🧡 Thank you so much for this sweet comment, I don't know what I'd do without you guys!!! 😘
These are all added to our options. Super privilege to have more hacks on how to make our home have a quality living. 🥰💯
If you need help you should join me on my site DezignSpace.com ☺️

I love your voice and energy
Please don’t place your towels above toilet. It’s not sanitary, when you flush, the particles float all over your bathroom and will sit on toothbrushes and towel. Towels stay fresh when away from humidity of a bathroom after all. Close the lid when flush, it will reduce the nastiness in the air. However, if you have a huge bathroom then go crazy and place all your towels in the bathroom;))

@@bricksloth6920 I keep my toothbrush in my purse since I brush & floss after each meal & I don't always eat at home.
I landed on your video at the best possible time! I'm ready to update my previously boring remodel and was considering a ridiculously broad range of designs and colors. This will help me to settle down and make it better instead of creating a monster of an artistic installation, haha.
You can do it!
Tiny bathrooms with standalone tub + shower cabin + double sinks? I would like to see what normal and large size bathrooms look like.
And here I came for help because there isn't any wall space in my bathroom for a towel bar.
@@Heggsabee Seriously. I just had this conversation with my husband today, as we’re in the middle of a reno. 2 towel hooks might be all we can do. 😂
I was thinking the exact thing, why is she showing all these huge glamorous bathrooms if this is suppose to be hacks for small bathrooms. Geeish
@@Heggsabee not sure how yours is laid out but we had to put ours behind the door. It was literally the only useable wall space!
How is that a tiny bathroom?!?
Love the tortoise shell glasses. Very school teacher. Nice
LOL class is now in session!!! 🤓🤣 Thank you so much for watching!! 👏🏼💕
You got me at cut pit shelves under pedestal sink. You are brilliant! Love you…
