The moral of the song, never leave home without a pen because you never know if you will be abducted by aliens 👽 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Towel is also something you should never leave your house without. ;P
I thought it was: Eating a whole box of Krispy Kremes is bad, mkay?
Im sure Maynard would totally agree. 😀
I thought the message was not to drop out of school.
@@oneDonly to each their own sir
My favorite tool song is always the last tool song I heard.
No cap!
🤘
Spoken like a true Tool fan. You absolutely can't choose; its always changing. Lost keys/Rosetta is though. Always one of my favorite
100 percent facts. When you asked for a favorite, everything went blank.lol Don't even know where to begin...
It’s an enigma wrapped in a riddle wrapped in a mystery. The favorite changes frequently to the last TOOL song you heard. It’s not just you it’s everyone. We are spirit
"Lyrically, the song deals with a man's encounter with aliens, spiritual realizations, and his state of a coma after a DMT trip."
My favorite Tool song has always been "H.", but then "Fear Inoculum" came out... And now I'm obsessed with "Descending"!
Tool is my favorite band btw and I love all of their songs...
Hi from Italy, stay safe and keep it up with your good reactions :)
Preciate that! Glad you’re enjoying the content 🔥 big shoutout to Italy 🇮🇹🔥🔥
I love Italian......and Spanish and Chinese and......
Those are my absolute tool faves hun
In 1994 it was Sober
In 1996 it was Stinkfist
In 2001 it was Reflection
In 2006 it was Rosetta Stoned
Now it’s Pneuma

#OnlyFamForever 💯💯
The Triad: Disposition, Reflection, and Triad off Lateralus. Three tracks are one continuous song, 17 mins long. It's everything Tool. That's my fav.
grntbggr AMEN 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
27 minutes long but agreed. the holy trinity is awesome
trust me man, this is one song you NEED lyrics for haha. It's worth knowing what he talking about. It's such a unique track, even by Tool's standards.
It's about a friend of the band who was tripping on DMT and maybe LSD out in the desert who was certain that he had been visited by aliens that gave him a message to save humanity, but then he couldn't remember what they told him, and he forgot his pen to write it down.
Hahah no way!? For real? That would explain the “ god damn., shit the bed” lyric..🤘🏻wicked
@@bosnow9221 yes it's about Bill Manspeaker ringleader of Green Jello lol. Watch this interview with Danny:
ruclips.net/video/dlJLNxe3Ga8/видео.html
@@holyshit1916 awesome thanks man..🍻🤘🏻
DMT and magic mushrooms are very similar... LSD is nothing like either... this song is about DMT, the first words in Rosetta Stoned are:
Alright then, picture this if you will:
10 to 2 am, X, Yogi DMT
And a box of Krispy Kremes
In my "need to know" pose, just outside of Area 51"
@@thumpyloudfoot864
"The blotter got right on top of me"
That's LSD dumbass.
Meditation is not easy. Especially for an inquisitive mind. I attended a philosophy school for a few years. We were taught that we should imagine our thoughts as a train and we are sitting on an embankment watching it go by. The goal was not to hop the train, but to simply let it go by. Observe the thought but not allow it to take you anywhere. It's one of the most difficult things I have ever attempted! It takes practice for sure. Years of practice.
Man you just get Tool, you understand it i love it when people really look into the blood sweat and artwork that this band put into their craft over the years. great reactions! Check out Gojira too!
Preciate it fam 💯💯
"When you said everything is gonna be alright" that is exactly how I feel when I listen to Tool.
💯💯
“Shit the bed” is southern slang for “screwed up.” As in:
“You really shit the bed on that one, Billy Joe. Whatchu gon’ do when mama finds out?”
Having forgotten his pen, he couldn’t write down what the aliens told him, and he got mad at himself after the fact.
Goddamn… Shit the bed.
So...this is the most out there chaotic of the tool “hits” alongside “The Grudge”. You not just survived, but thrived in this reaction. Tool Army is here and we can all tell you anything you can catch on a first pass is straight up impressive. We listen to this stuff for years and break every note and beat down. Deep dive. Keep it coming and thanks for having an open mind. Straight up.
Preciate that fam 🔥💯
The song is about meeting aliens on psychedelics. The aliens take him up, comfort him, give him the keys to divine knowledge, but he forgets it on his way down. (that's why it's lost keys. As to the doors of perception.).
The song has about a million references to various things, some 60s tv shows, hippie culture, and all sorts of craziness. Blame Hoffman is a reference to the guy who invented acid. Doors of perception is a reference to Aldous Huxley, a famous writer on psychedelics. It goes on and on. Nag Champa is a type of fragrance hippies use a lot. Too much stuff to list here, but a lot of references for sure.
Plus, I'm pretty sure I've met this guy before. This type of chosen one theme is pretty common in the psychedelic communities.
This is one of my top 5, although I hated it when I first heard it.
This is the greatest band ever and all four of them are masters of their chosen trade. Adam on the guitar and Justin with that awesome bass that few throw credit too. Sometime just find that bass and listen to it. Adam has finally inspired me to start to learn the guitar but 48 now so do not have enough years left to be able to play his shit. I think he just uses a volume pedal to increase and decrease the gain on his guitar though have not done intense research on it.
Props to paul d'amour but justin was an integral addition and the most widely selected tool songs on my playlists are the JC era songs. Kick Ass!!!
If you like that ambient, melodic and medatative instrumental intro then u gotta check out disposition - reflection - triad.
For me, impossible to pick a favorite. Every song has its place in my psyche. But no matter my mood, tool takes me from that mood to a state of heightened awareness and vulnerability. Adam Jones is a dark genius. You will be a changed man after the entire catalog, for the better.
💯💯💯
Rah. It is an Impossibility ito chose a favorite “Tool” experience/song.
I simply love all the music these guys create. I am looking forward to many more journeys with the musical genius that is
TOOL
🔥🔥🔥
Third eye hands down favorite tool song
I requested this song back when you did the reaction to Vicarious, which made me subscribe, and you asked what our favorite Tool song is. This is still my #1 favorite, it's incredibly musically complex, and an absolute work of art in terms of the emotion and the story telling. The guitarist is Adam Jones, and he makes some incredible riffs and sounds on the guitar that make you question "is that a guitar playing?" just like you did lol. If you want to react to another video for this, check out the drum cover of this by RUclipsr johnkew, he does an amazing job covering Danny's drums. I play drums, bass, piano, and guitar, and this is one song I firmly believe I'll never have the skill to play. Around 2:55 into the song, Danny does a snare roll that changes time signatures several times, not to be a show off, but because it perfectly fit that part of the song, and got you ready for the next part. Really glad you liked this one! My next request for you would be "Right in Two." Keep enjoying Tool and use their music to keep you level headed and positive, use their music as a "tool" for your mental health. Keep the great content coming man!
Preciate that a lot fam! Glad you stuck around and been enjoying the content 🔥🔥 I got right in two otw 💯💯
No one commented about who Bob was in Rosetta stoned I believe he's talking about Bob Lazar the guy that worked at Area 51 reverse engineering space ships, it makes sense
Yes
“A distorted flute?!” - had me dying, but I totally get how you arrived at that. Now you got me looking up music that uses a distorted flute.
"Shit the bed" is a colloquialism/metaphor for only having one job to do and screwing it up. He doesn't literally shit the bed. He was supposed to return to humanity with a message but he can't remember it, because he didn't write it down. Hence the references to the forgotten pen.
Yes! Can't wait!
Lets do this!
Freakin' Love this song.
🔥🔥
Man, I woke up this morning, slightly hung over. I got on RUclips, and what do I see? I saw this greeting me with open arms. Lol It's been awesome watching you take this trip, Rah, and I'm glad you finally got the right headspace to do it.
The song is, according to Danny Carey, about the experience of their friend and lead singer for the band Green Jelly, Bill Manspeaker. Bill was out in the middle of some observation area close to Area 51, and something happened to him. Danny said that by the time he was through with his story it was like it resembled more of a cattle mutilation than your standard alien abduction story. Maynard was so captivated by the story that what you just heard was what it moved him to create. Yet, then again, it could be Maynard's personal experience. Tool are notorious for trolling, even their own fans, and everything they say should be taken with a grain of salt. Most have speculated that DMT is the cause of such things as alien abductions, religious experiences, etc. I'm sure that the band members have done it at one point in time. Alex Grey, the artist of Tools albums since Lateralus, is a very avid advocate of DMT.
Question Of the Day: I'd say it's gotta be Pneuma. So many layers, moods, and just an overall great vibe to it.
Take care, be safe, and be happy, Rah. ✌ 💘 🙏

Awesome video 😎👏
My favorite song by Tool has honestly got to be Invincible. I love all their songs and my #1 will probably change but Invincible is just a whole journey man. I think you’ll enjoy it.
I’ll check it out!
Best tool song is hard to pick since it’s usually whichever one you’re currently listening to, but if I had to pick, it would be push it- the live version off of Salival
For choosing this track alone my friend you’ve earned my respect, awesome reaction!! Subscribed!!
Preciate that dawg!💯 welcome to the fam. More bangers otw 🔥
Hysterical lyrics from a buddy of theirs that had a crazy DMT trip.
Mellow while he's all high then goes manic as he comes down and tries to describe what he saw...
Great tune! 👍
🔥🔥🔥
Lateralus is my favorite atm, but it changes constantly. lol
Adam Jones is the guitarist
Justin chancellor on bass
Maynard on vocals and poetry
You already know Daddy Carey on the drums
Culling Voices. Amazing guitars, drums, and vocals. One of their masterpieces yet might be one of their most underrated songs. Left me speechless, not gonna lie.
🔥🔥🔥
Hate how ppl consider it a filler song, that’s the song that helped me have a breakthrough with guitar as a youngin… will always have a special place for me
Adam jones is one of my top guitarists… zero solos and the dude strait riffs the shit out of every song in the most fucked up time signature
Best band in the world I got to see this song live after winning front row tickets to the "Pre" warm up tour in 06... YES you need the lyrics bro
🔥🔥
8:00 "And honestly this more calming than silence for me right now."
Just wait, bro!!! LOL! Juuuust you wait!
The Grudge is my all time favorite Tool song for releasing negative energy and recharging. It’s amazing live but I like the original album version best. You definitely need to check it out!
Coming soon 🔥

"Shit the bed" is a British expression. Used when something has gone wrong I believe. Could also be taken literally or as a double meaning but I am not sure of the intention. ...but I forgot my pen, shit the bed again, typical.
As corny as it is the Tool song that is playing at the time is my favourite.
I love you right now for mentioning this. Stay safe. Spiral out..
Damn i listened to the end. Thank you for sharing your thoughts feelings and growth as well. That shit was deep
No problem bro 🔥
I loved watching your reaction to this because it was probably everyone else's reaction upon hearing this one the first time. I just couldn't wrap my head around it until I really broke it down later, especially the huge breakdown at around 7:00 because it's a polymeter AND a polyrhythm at the same time.
Preciate it 💯 glad you enjoyed. Yeah this one different..in a great way 🔥
Lost keys Rosetta Stone is my favorite, for sure.

BOW 🔥
Lost Keys/Rosetta Stoned is my favorite Tool song.
🔥🔥
Bruh, did you know the guitarist from Tool- Adam Jones and the guitarist from Rage Against the Machine- Tom Morello, are childhood friends.
Cool reaction. It was fun. Thanks. Maybe reflection is my favorite. It changes though. Thankfully they have lots of songs. I first heard them in and around 1994 I believe. I was blown.
Rah-This feels like something I could meditate to.
Tool-Hold my beer...
Ya feel me 🔥🔥
OnlyFam of course Tool is the coolest band I've ever seen live. Groovin on 7empest rn but honestly most songs by them have been my fav at one point or another. Great reaction thanks for the lol
Disposition/Reflection is my fav Tool song... It's pure meditation and healing when I listen to that track
Descending next bro, get ready for another journey. Welcome to the Tool army YA DIGG 🤘🏽 ONLYFAM

ONLYFAM! This song is extremely fire live. Shitting the bed means fucking up by not having a pen to write down all the secrets the aliens want to tell.
Adam Jones plays guitar and somehow makes some of the craziest, unique sounds ever.
Favorite Tool songs are Jambi, H., Parabola
Keep rocking out. We members of the Tool Army appreciate you and your truism and genuine reactions to the music we love.

Tool Greatest Hits is my go to for meditation and dance. Some of their songs are played in 432 hz. Which its been said to have a healing effect on the body and mind. I feel the difference when I tune my Bass to 432 hz. Definatly feel the positive vibration in my body. Saying Thank You for the music, reaction and being Real! Feelin it in Colorado Much luv! 😊 You make my 💙)
Preciate the love & support ! 💯💯
@RAH REACTS Just so you know, "shit the bed" is a phrase people use sometimes to mean "I really screwed this one up" or something to that effect. I don't think he means it literally in the song, but who knows.
Yeah, this one on another level. Welcome to the Tool Cult.
HEY HEY HEY! smiles all round.
That is why we say earphones are so important..there is so much you miss without them. Spiral out bro
Gotta agree with this, but also listening on a GOOD system that has great bass so you can really feel those drums and Chancellor's bass takes these jams to another level.
This pair of pieces is really the continuation of the previous piece, Lipan Conjuring. Lipan Conjuring reference the use of "magic mushrooms" or other hallucinogens, Lost Keys (Blame Hofmann) a resulting hospitalizatin, and Rosetta Stoned the hallucinogenic experience.
Favorite TOOL song:
To sleep to, Pneuma
To play (on drums), Vicarious
To challenge me (on drums), Schism
To vibe out on, Third Eye
To Rock out to, Parabol/Parabola
To cry to, Wings for Marie/10,000 Days
To drive to, Lateralus
To sing to, Forty Six and 2
There's a TOOL song for every mood and situation! 🔥🤘🏽🔥🤘🏽🔥🤘🏽
🔥🔥🔥
So glad you are digging it! Greetings from New Mexico. My favorite song by Tool is every song they've released between 1995 and 2019 haha. I guess Right in Two will always hold that special place in my heart though because it is the first tool song with I ever connected with.
Favorite tool song? Whichever is playing atm.

My favorite Tool song? Rosetta Stoned! Listening to this song ALWAYS gives me goosebumps, It's definitely a roller coaster song like you said! 21:54 🤣that's my face every time! So glad you enjoyed it, this is my first time on your channel!
Welcome 2 the fam Isabel 💯
This song is definitely a Rollercoaster like many other tool songs! My favorite song by tool is Lateralus. They are amazing live BTW! I would say they are my favorite live band but the Foo Fighters take that. If you haven't checked out the Foo Fighters please do they are one of the biggest bands in the world. Their front man Dave Grohl was the drummer for Nirvana
Which song would you suggest from them first ??
@@RAHONLYFAM the pretender is a great song to start with!!! Thanks for the reply!
Nothing wrong with the Foo Fighters. Dave Grohl is the man. But better than the mighty Tool? No way, no how.
@@danieladair9436 I mean it's my opinion🤷♂️🤣. Honestly I love tool but I am a little biased, the Foo Fighters are my favorite band not named Led Zeppelin. When I saw the Foo Fighters it was a rescheduled show, because of this they played a little longer. The foo are great to their fans, they almost always pull a fan up on stage to rock out with them and this show was no exception. They also played Under Pressure by queen and Bowie, with Grohl playing the drums. Tool was amazing live and they rocked my face off but few bands bring the energy to the stage that the Foo brings. I would seriously recommend that any music lover go see both.
Def apples 🍎 and oranges 🍊. Both excellent live Foos played 3 fkin hrs, but TooL definitely puts on a more visually and spiritually connected show...just perfection
“This how you feel when you lose your keys?” That was awesome
Its so hard to choose a favorite but one that I like to recommend to everyone who is looking to get into Tool or looking for their next reaction is the track "Eulogy." I love the song deeply and its just too hard to pick a single true favorite (even if I'm not tattooing it on my forehead lol) but the song has so much groove and flow and it just creeps and slams and bangs and chills and mutates so cool. Its not incredibly wild like "Rosetta Stoned" but its wild in its own way. Its like chill in the groove but wild in the energy. Its so good. Its a fuckin' FLEX, brother.
Eulogy, man. Its a BANGER. It has so many ill qualities.
Eulogy is otw 💯💯
@@RAHONLYFAM fuck yeah! I can't wait to see how you feel about it.
you MUST see the John Kew drum cover of Rosetta stoned, it's just perfect and help a lot to understand how crazy that song is
"Shit the bed" is an old way of saying you fucked up. "Damn, you really shit the bed on that one" Maynard likes throwing these things in there. Great video. Subbed

Best band live is a tough one I've seen lots of amazing live shows. TOOL, Rammstein, Alice in Chains, Primus, Slayer etc. Tool will always be my favorite band though so I love seeing them live the most.. Favorite song I have no idea. Swamp Song, Flood, Disposition Reflection Triad(those all go together), 4° and Merkaba among my favorites.
You’re wise beyond years my man. Stay woke and blessed.

OnlyFamForever.com Yesss! Waiting a long time for this reaction. Your comment 😅 "Is this how you feel when you lose your keys" My favorite lyrics in this song...
"Overwhelmed as one would be, placed in my position
Such a heavy burden now to be the one
Born to bear and bring to all the details of our ending
To write it down for all the world to see
But I forgot my pen
Shit the bed again
Typical..Loved 😁 your Facial expressions. Especially when Maynard starts spittin barz fast.. It's all a Drug fulled mindtrip. The phrase "To Shit the bed" means to fail at something. In his case it's remembering what they said. Forgetting his pen to write it all down. Awesome Reaction RAH! 😊

You’d appreciate looking up The Fibonacci Sequence. They build their music through it. Spirals and the golden section in Nature.
Sounds trippy, but it’s a fuckin’ mathematical equation. It’s Haiku on steroids. ✌🏽😏
Hey Ana I actually have checked it out 💯.. look up "Rah reacts Fibonacci"
Lost Keys always gave me a feeling of disparity. Like I had just survived a major disaster and was still lost in the confusion and shock. A cloudy cool day in the middle of farm land is what shows in my mind.
After encountering aliens and coming off a DMT trip he ends up in the hospital and he's explaining what happened to the doc because he's acting all crazy. The shit the bed thing is a term used for fucking up, like all this happened and he was supposed to write it down but he "shit the bed" meaning he fucked up and forgot his pen....✌
Danny Carey said in an interview that this is about a friend of theirs that told them a story about him getting abducted by aliens and shit
My first Tool love was Lateralus. Now, Vicarious is right up there with it. Depends on my mood which I gravitate towards.

Descending by Tool is my favorite.
Fear Inoculum was definitely better than I anticipated.
Descending and Invincible are definitely my favorites on the album.

I totally feel you on this reaction,. I am the same as you I can't handle silence either silence puts my brain into overdrive of thinking about all my stresses. Good music distracts my mind and is true therapy for me!!! Tool is amazing. I love the way it makes me feel. It will raise your positive vibrations and that's a true fact. The toned effect your brain chemistry ultimately changing it which boost your good mood!
