Definitely one of the top few for me. Hard to pin down any single Tool song or album as the greatest. They are all so good. Whatever one I’m feeling at the moment is my favorite
Adam jones just chillin playing these complex riffs perfectly. The dude is cool as ice. Super nice guy too. Met him on a hotel elevator in Denver and we chatted for like 5 min. I still can’t believe it and I wish I had a better recollection of everything we said but it was so surreal. There was so much I wanted to ask. This was in 2007 when the lakers were in town to play the nuggets in the playoffs so him and his now ex wife Camella were there for it. I do remember asking him when the next album was coming and mind you this was just less than a year after 10,000 days was released. Let’s just say he certainly didn’t say it would be coming out in 2019, 12 years later 😆
These arent very complex riffs. Adam actually plays the easiest parts in most tool songs, they just require intensely precise timing. In many ways, Tool is 4 percussionists.
@@doodlebob3758 And I think thats the reason why they are pretty hard to play, eometimes a riff could be more complex but the timing is pretty straight forward and sometimes the harder ones are with fewer notes and movements but with a trickier time signiture. So you could say that his arent complex but rather tricky.
I grew up on Bonham and Peart. Bonham was the Hammer of the God's. Neil was the Professor, and was a genius with time signature changes, but neither of them did what Danny does, in particular, the Poly rhythms. He's literally playing two and three time signatures at the same time. I have to admit, that most of his work was above my level until I saw what he was actually doing. Danny truly takes it up another level, all together!
I was there! It was! Unfortunately for me, some of the people I was with weren't here to see Tool and didn't know much about them and said they were shit because they didn't have cameras on the band or the screen. Wouldn't expect someone who isn't a fan of this band to understand. Was still a GREAT show that I waited 3 years to see!
Maynard got into this, and you could tell when he lets go. It makes it what it was intended to be. I’ve seen them live and this was 10 times better than when I seen them. He seemed to have gotten bored, and just kinda blah’d everything the last few tours. This was like some 1999 Tool, and that’s the Tool I feel in love with. I’m so happy I got VIP tickets to Nashville! Now I’m so excited after seeing this!
I seen them in Nashville in 2020, wasn’t a fan, just went with my brother that was visiting and hadn’t seen him for about 5 years. Before the first song was over (Fear Inoculum) I was hooked. We will both be at the Nashville show in January, me and my 13 year old son and him and his 18 year old daughter. We are super stoked
Yeah I saw them for the first time in 2019 and there wasn't a lot of energy. Very by-the-numbers. When they came back in 2022, the entire attitude was different. It was a far more enjoyable experience.
TOOL is the most intense band[live]..I've seen 'em a dozen times & they keep getting better. The Power Trip show look to be a new stage show(like to see them again..Phx.)🧩
Adam jones sustained notes is fucking phenomenal. How does he sustain his notes so long on a Les Paul? The only thing that can sustain a note that good and long I feel is a sustainiac guitar.
Then he looked right through me with somniferous almond eyes Don't even know what that means, must remember to write it down This is so real, like the time Dave floated away See, my heart is pounding 'cause this shit never happens to me Can't breathe right now, it was so real Like I woke up in Wonderland, all sort of terrifying I don't wanna be all alone when I tell this story And can anyone tell me why you all sound like Peanuts parents? Will I ever be coming down? This is so real, finally, it's my lucky day See, my heart is racing 'cause this shit never happens to me Can't breathe right now You believe me, don't you? Please believe what I just said See, The Dead ain't touring and this wasn't all in my head See, they took me by the hand and invited me right in Then they showed me something, I don't even know where to begin

Maynard's attitude toward cell phone use by his his fans, the very fanbase that puts him where he is today, is more distracting by the security at the show than the cel phone use itself. Quite entertaining, but opposing the show itself! Lighten up. You strived to reach this level, you started off hoping to reach this level vis fans!, You're now removing these fans for recording a glimpse of their experience. Show some class. You're Maynard! My take on Maynard was "whats he do during all the fill-time?" Im happy to see him shuffling nonstop for 6 minutes at a time. That BJJ has to be great for cardio as your candle starts to wane.
MJKs lyrics are absolutely some of the best. For real! How he takes a frightening encounter song like this and explains the whole situation and perspective and then tops it off with “But I forgot my Pen!” 🤌🤣
Greatest Tool Song of All Time
Definitely one of the top few for me. Hard to pin down any single Tool song or album as the greatest. They are all so good. Whatever one I’m feeling at the moment is my favorite
There is no such thing.
Hard to choose but truly a fantastic musical trip and the juxtaposition of the musical seriousness and lyrical hilarity is just magnificent
David Grush should adopt this as his ring walk song
Easily the best song ever made by humanity, not just Tool.

Same, first time. Never got into them (besides a few songs) till now. Awesome performance from the band
ive seen them 5 times and have yet to see this live. now that its in their setlist, im unable to see them this time. Just my luck.
