Is there anything so beautiful as Víkingur playing Sivaldi Kaldalóns, one can b a proud Icelander, despite, everything no so beautiful in the world, one can forget for a short time an enjoy, and Víkingur is such a treasure, lacking all stardom and has humanity to his very talented fingertips. I am truly proud of calling him my coutryman
He is saying that he is going to play a extra song witch he also did the day before and the day before that and introduced the song Ave Maria by Sigvaldi Kaldalóns he says that the song is a blessing for the house. Then he said that he was so happy play with this wonderful band or orchestra witch has finally gotten the house they deserve. This from one of the opening concert for Harpa a concert hall in Reykjavík. And the women speaking first was talking about his clothes and how happy he was.
This Ave Maria was written as the finale in a play produced by a semi-professional theatre group in Reykjavik in 1925. The composer was a medical doctor, a general practitioner in the utmost remote West Fjords of Iceland, a place called Kaldalon . Hence the composers adopted last name, Sigvaldi Kaldalons. He wrote many beautiful pieces.
How can I get a job sitting on one of the many chairs behind him? All I have to do is clap at the end of the five minutes, and hold a musical instrument. That's my kind of work!
How beautiful his playing is .....
very spiritual, genuinely pure and pristine, gentle....
He is our true treasure and great heritage of the world...!
Iceland's Ave Maria... Very beautiful. Thank you.

He does make that instrument sing. His playing completely defies the percussive nature of the piano. Gorgeous. ❤️
He is absolutely extraordinary!
@Jonas Gerardo I will give it a try. Thank you for the recommendation.
Smoothe and silky with divine delivery of depth and emotional beauty which is in a class all of its own!
Just how does he get that singing tone and the perfect layering of melody and accompaniment? This is great piano playing.
His arrangement and performance for this simple and beautiful piece shows his unbelievable talent.
He is great! I hope to see him playing in South Korea after covid. . His playing makes me so happy.

Which „Ave Maria“ is it? It is not from J.S. Bach and not from F. Schubert!
