Dallas can do no wrong. His Nutshell cover is fantastic as well.
Agree
Came here to say the same. His version is my second favorite after the original unplugged version. They may even be tied to be honest
I heard Aaron Lewis of stained cover nutshell on RUclips. He also did it justice. It was so good even the "Woogirls" had to shut up.
what about Ryan Adams’ version?
Liked just for cutting Metallica off early on this one.
Hahaha good call.
Same lmao
It was soooo bad🤣
Same. I despise Metallica.
Dallas's cover is the best thing I've heard in a long long time.
Never thought this song could be covered in a way Dallas did it, absolutely STELLAR.
The raw emotion that Dallas adds to any song he sings is beautiful, to say the least. He definitely did this song justice in his own way.
He really does have one of the purest voices hey. So much heart and soul
@@myauramusic I’ve seen him live 5 times... I was awestruck each time.
@@myauramusic You got the right. Just amazing
@@acy2004 He is #1 on my bucket list of concerts. I have to see him
@@zachpauda5693 you won’t be disappointed. This man’s voice is otherworldly.
Need a Dallas In Chains album in my life. He’s so friggin good!
I think including Metallica cover was a genius way to show others how an AIC should be covered(by Dallas Green).
Dallas Green can never out AIC Layne, but he chose his own way to honor their song, and I'd argue it's quite possibly better than the original.
Great pick. Love Dallas, and Alice in Chains. Dallas really nailed this. You can tell he really feels the lyrics in this song.
From a Canadian . Dallas Green's voice is amazing. It's unique and angelic.
Dallas Green is my favourite artist, ever. Such a genuine, down to earth guy. I fucking love him!
The lack of harmonies or whatever that was, was rough. Dallas broke my heart & put it back together again.
yeah i was a bit disappointed with that "Would?" attempt as well. But like you said, Dallas was completely mesmerizing
i have a hard time wrapping my head around how brilliant this is.
Saw Dallas perform this last night at House of Blues live… seriously intense and amazing to view the emotion live!
Emotion 100%. Man you are one lucky guy, sounds like an incredible night
Dallas is an angel send to earth to please us … saw him live 2 years ago and I started crying
Never heard of this guy. OMG amazing singer.
Absolutely Beautiful! The best out of the lot in my opinion!
100%. Drone was pretty god to, i had never heard that song before so i was totally blown away
With Dallas Green, Ian Thornley, Danny Greaves, Brett Emmons and Max Kerman, Canada doesn't lack in the awesome lead singer category these days
Dallas Green is so amazing!!! I love all of his stuff!!
I saw him do this cover back in September and it was phenomenal!
It’s very interesting to me that Metallica talked shit about layne staleys death and made fun of them on stage after layne passed yet now are performing the most woeful covers 🥴, but Dallas on the other hand, absolutely perfect
In my heart of hearts, like all too many females I know think also, Dal is...mine, haha.
Yeah yeah Leah is in fact the luckiest grrrrl in the world these last 17+ years, but having been
here on CA home soil I was able to be front & centre at all so many AoF then City & Colour
events it became too easy to become addicted to his very self. His voice has evolved and
in Sweet Dreams of Otherness (AOF newest album), he took it.... THERE.
I listen to isolated vocal tracks of Layne so very often & wish someone with the skillset, could
do the same for DGs vocals.
I happened on your video during another rabbit hole seek out for even more Dallas vocals...
if you have not heard his AOF album with original gents plus his most vulnerable EVER City and Colour album that just came out few months ago.... I cannot rec. enough. AOF has restructured and created a new grown up, yet still the same, album.
Fuck me! An actual honest true blue reaction. Good shit man, no bullshit, love it.
Haha cheers mate
"I can't even" 😂 👏
Love this cover! Also sick T!
Destiny Australian Bushfire appeal 2020 :)
That voice enchants me🎙️🖤
He makes it sound so effortless
Dallas Green I mean is there a good word in the English or any other language that has not been spoken about concerning his voice ..how can anyone have an original comment about Dallas everything thing has been said ..I guess that's my comment that I basically have no comment like getting to the party after all the food is gone and asking if there's any pizza or wings left while people are burping looking around like " what time do you get here ?"
Dallas Green has a top 3 voice of all time
Jeff buckley the goat followed closely but layne and then dallas imo
Awesome ink, more pointedly great reaction. Dallas Green does this song justice.
You did it so good man hahah. They killed "would" i can't stand that.
Tell you what it is bro, soul. You can feel his emotion, just like Layne.
Dallas in Chains! I believe he said the first album he bought with his own money was AIC. They led him to become a musician. City (Dallas) and Colour (Green). Get it?
Nails it when you say Dallas'voice is Heaven. We never miss a NY area show because it's more incredible live and with AOF
Everybody knows Layne was an amazing vocalist, but not many poeple credit Jerry Cantrell for being the beast he is. That Alice In Chains sound would've been copied ten times over it wasn't for the vocal melodies.
Good call
His voice is angelic...obviously I mean dallas.
Dallas’s Nutshell cover is amazing
I feel like if someone wanted to cover this song they should never watch this....Just move on and don't even try! BEAUTIFUL
my drunk ass runking thrugh likes it Canada!!
City & Color did Alice in Chains justice. It's not easy to do.
Dallas is one of my favorites. Check out Matt corby. Anything live….. I promise you chills and shock
Yeah I'm a big fan of matt corby too
majestic dallas
God I LOVE that you skipped Lars and the Metallica’s! Love Dallas Green, once suck onto his tour bus backstage at In The Venue in SLC! Haha greeeaat times!!!
That would of been soooo epic. Something you will remember for ever.
Yeah i had high hopes for Metallica, but it was pure cringe haha
Is this your first introduction to Dallas Green? You should check out his other AIC cover of Nutshell he did a few years ago. Also his solo stuff City and Colour is incredible also his post hardcore band Alexisonfire is great.
No i used to listen to Alexisonfire, and then from that Dallas. I think i did a cover version of a City & Color acoustic song a few years ago that may be on this channel. But i'm not 100% sure on that. Dallas's voice is just so beautiful. Yeah i'll have to check that out, i don't think i have seen it. Thanx mate
@@myauramusic I’d love to see your reaction to that version. I think it’s my favourite but both covers are great.
AIC and Soundgarden are hands down my all-time favorite bands. Cornell and Jerry are such legends. You missed the greatest performance in the tribute! Lily Cornell sang Black Gives Way to Blue and it was hauntingly beautiful considering it now references her dad as well as Layne.
yeah i watched that one too, Susan's introduction was so moving and perfect for the moment. Both Toni and Lily have such beautiful voices, i hope they go far and create something special in this world. Bro, the singers of that erra had the ultimate voices. I feel so lucky to have lived through those years and seen those bands live
Fishbone's cover of them bones was great
"Tom Hardy Reacts to God's Cover of Alice in Chains"
I agree with you 100%. Metallica are great and friends of AIC but no match for the vibe of Layne and Jerry’s performance. Dallas Green just sounds great singing anything but I love his different take on this song especially
I did the exact same thing..."let's try Metallica...SKIP."
Dallas also covers Nutshell if you haven't seen that yet
Dallas does not miss!
Best cover of “ Would “ was done by Opeth
The Metallica was so disappointing…Dallas….no comparison…beautiful…..perfection..
I’m sure you’ve seen it but jones would cover is far superior
buttsy!!!!
haha yup
@@myauramusic me , u , diesel & heggs
@@yssemeno bro i don't know who this is? You have me super puzzled. Is this Sam?
i grew up with diesel before he move down there
Chris, with a sister Toni?
Sorry I didnt understand why you skipped Metallica . Didnt u like it or get emotional ? :)
James vocals were not up to the task of Layne and Jerry's vocals. As a massive fan of AIC it just didn't sound pleasing at all. I was hoping for so much more. But like i mentioned, i had watched nearly all of the covers from most of the bands and more than a few of them were not the greatest, while others were absolutely beautiful. What were your thoughts on Metallica's "Would?" cover?
@@myauramusic James is a Thrash metal singer basically. After 40 years singing screaming thrash ofc his voice not same anymore but as a longtime Metallica fan I can't be objective I like it but its too short and lack of bass intro and outro :/
True, but he still does have a good voice, he works hard and still belts out all the classics plus more. Its just his range isn't suited to stuff like ALICE IN CHAINS. He sounded ok in the verse, but the chorus you could tell he was struggling. But it is good to see all these famous bands acknowledging how AIC changed the music scene during the 90's, and shaped plenty of musicians over the years including myself :)
Metallica did alright, certainly good enough to give it a full listen. You're just a hater.
Nah man, i grew up listening to, learning and loving Metallica........i'm just honestly super critical when it comes to music,.....we all have our own differences and approaches which makes our commentary unique and opposite sides of the spectrum. Thanx for the view and the comment though
You would never guess Metallica was one of the greatest metal bands ever if someone just didnt know them and watched that cover. Already too busy in the intro, weird arrangement, doesnt work. Their style doesnt work outside of metal. Dallas Green on the other hand... what a fucking ARTIST. THATS what a real musician actually is. Unbelievable.
Such a true statement from start to fininsh. Well said sir
Talk too much.
I'm glad you enjoyed my pleasant chat an thoughts. If you wanted to watch the video with no reaction im not sure why you have clicked on a reaction video smh
Not for nothing but I thought the rain when I die cover was…..meh, at best. I expected a bit more.
The hell is wrong with you people - there is barely any real value to this cover. Why is everyone getting wet over this? It's lacking so much texture that Layne created. Give me a break.
Because is a beautiful cover. A cover doesn't need to sound exactly like the original, if you want that then go and listen to the original version with layne.
