UPDATE: "Sorry" is the hardest word to say, especially if you exclude "Worchestershire." Six months ago I made a video about how you can add automatic captions to your streams, recordings and virtual camera in OBS Studio. I've come to realise I didn't do a very good job of explaining some aspects of this. (Indeed I've been somewhat roasted by the RUclips comments, thanks everyone! 🙈) There were some technical constraints that prevented me from showing one important step. But I'm not really here to defend myself. People gave me useful feedback and this week on The Video and Livestreaming, we're going to revisit the plugin. @SamProof will also be introducing us to the Advanced Scene Switcher plugin too, which I'm sure will be very educational indeed. Prepare to have your minds blown! 🤯 ruclips.net/video/fHOTFRPXsTk/видео.html
Well I need the part were you show how to get the text from capions docked window onto my video. You kinda skipped over that because you already had it on so I'm stuck at this step. I don't have anyting in the dropdown for Caption Settings/Open Captions/Text Source so I can't select the Text (GDI) plugin that you named Captions.
I figured it out, first make the text (GDI+) source and name it, then go to the tools menu > cloud close captions > settings > open captions > add text output > enable > in "text source" select the text source you have already made for the captions
@@untaldex Glad you figured it out. Also it seems the Open Captions option broke in an earlier version so if you haven't updated in a little while, it might be worthwhile re-installing.
Essentially you can either choose between: * A single source; OR * Stream Audio (Tracks 1 - 6) So if you go to the Caption Settings, under the General tab, from the Caption Source select 'Stream Audio (Track 1)' it should caption all the sources heard on that track. This could be all audio on your stream (including videos), or you could go into the Advanced Audio Settings and just make sure only the sources you want transcribed go out to that particular track.
Does it only give the captions when streaming and not when just localy recording ? Connected to my YT channel and stream on is OK. I have the plugin txt source and the dock. Tried to talk into the mic but does not react.. What is it I am doing wrong ?
You shouldn't need to be streaming or recording for this to work, so there's a chance you might need to check your settings. 1. Go to the Tools menu and then select "Cloud Closed Captions." 2. Make sure the "Captioning Enabled" checkbox is turned on. 3. In the General tab, make sure the Caption source is an audio source that you wish to transcribe. 4. In Open Captions tab, make sure you've added a text source and that the Enabled checkbox is on. (Make sure the text source is actually added to all the scenes you want to be able to see it on.) Hope this helps. Let me know how you get on.
Mine jumps about and it looks like the font size changes and sometimes it skips back to previous lines, this seems to happen when it reaches the end of the bounding box, is it an issue in itself or is there a setting that I'm missing?
It's likely a combination of font size (and maybe alignment) and bounding box type. I haven't really experimented with all of the bounding box options yet. It might be worthwhile just trying them out and seeing if that helps.

This is great for being able to record simultaneously and have a transcript avialable for upload. Thank You for this!!
No worries. Glad it helped!

Im having the SAME issue and would LOVE more info on how to revolve this, thanks!

Skipped over the most important part. Great video, except for the most needed part.
@@untaldex Thank you.
Thanks a lot, huge help since I will be using it for meeting minutes.
Can you create two captions for two audio sources? For example ne for your mic and one for your friends?

Literally what I was looking for, thank you so much for the assist!
Thanks for the great information ! - Will be useful to know and I have subscribed as having actual captions on this video is helpful as I am Deaf.
Is Atomatic text captoin works in all langues ?
If i want change languege what is the process sir please reply
when I follow your guide all my words come out backwards and I can't fix it, by backwards I mean it's mirrored so letters and words are reversed.
It seems less accurate in French than in English but it's a good start ! Thanks Sir.
Thanks ❤

@@LearnLivestreaming Thankyou, I'll do some experimenting, very useful content you have here, subbed & liked
Followed all the steps and unfortunately doesn't work at all for me. It'll work in the preview but nothing appears on screen for me at all.
I just tried it on a mac, and in the caption settings, under Open Captions, add text output and make sure is enabled with text source captions.
