Now that we have cameras everywhere in stores, I like to exaggerate my emotionally-driven actions; like shaking my head when looking at price tags, throwing my arms up in exasperation when items are in the wrong place, getting down on the floor when an item I want is in the back of a bottom shelf, etc. It entertains me. I'm grateful for a pretty drama-free life.
Forget throwing up the arms. Just toss the items out of the way when stocked in the wrong place. As far as getting onto the floor to reach an item at the back of a bottom shelf because of being understocked - that's the employees' job, which I've had them do, as well.
That bottom shelf thing happened to me recently and I can’t get back up when I squat down! It’s so annoying that all the things I usually buy are on the bottom! So, I went to the kitchen section and got a long spatula and used it to pull the items forward to the front. Then I left it there for next time. 😂 I figured, let them put it away, if they want to, since they make it so hard to get the items out. And if not, I’ll use it again next time! But, next time it was gone. 😮

yeah 5 filled brown paper bags all for under 60 bucks..plus the young man loadin your bags at the end of each cash..and also the delivery by cube van or black bicycle with the big baskets accompanying you home or a little later
Because families only had one car (or none), few clothes, one pair of everyday shoes, no iPhones, no computers, a simple black and white TV (if you were fairly well off), no airplane or hotel tickets…. Yeah, it was the good old days.
One of my favorite Allen Funt Candid Camera gags was when they hired a carpenter to build a shelf between two end walls back in the day before they used power saws . So they guy would take a measurement , go cut the board with a hand saw , and when he came back the distance between the two walls was shorter . making the board he just cut too long. After cutting the board several times , and each time he came back with a newly cut board and it was too long , you could tell he was getting more and more frustrated with each cut , each trip back, and each time the walls had gotten closer together .. Finally he comes back with the board at it's shortest and they had spread the walls apart again, making the board WAY too short , and the carpenter gets mad and throws it on the ground as if to say " EFF it , I QUIT ! "
This was the cutest thing ever I love and miss all of these old candid camera videos and miss them being on tv peter you and Suzanne somers are the best thank you for keeping us laughing
There is one cart at my local Ralph's grocery store that I have gotten multiple times. It has one very flattened wheel and makes a loud "Thump Thump Thump" sound as you roll it around and shake the contents.
I was in elementary school (4th or 5th grade) when these shows originally ran. I wanted to be on Candid Camera so, so much. I remember that the show was always good for a few laughs. And I just laughed at this again.
It seems like every time I go to Target, half the shopping carts are damaged. The most annoying carts are the ones that go "thump, thump, thump" as I push them. Maybe I've been on Candid Camera every week, and didn't know it. ;)
Grocery carts were then a relatively new invention. I heard 1st grocery carts offered were left in the front of store for a long time gathering dust because women didn't want to use them, didn't trust them. With the advent of suburbs & driving cars to grocery stores with big parking lots, they quickly became part of the shopping experience.
