The gag was great - but the people made it even better. Especially the first guy …and the last woman. A slice of life featuring two delightful people from decades ago….
There are probably a lot of TV shows that have broad appeal but THIS Candid Camera was so popular, so ubiquitous that "You're on Candid Camera" was the beginning of all explanations.
I just love hearing Fannie saying after she drives the car into the bank in her sweet friendly Southern voice "I like to make a deposit please?" And the calmness of the clerk asking if she had an account with the bank. Just priceless! 🤣🤣

This show was so good, remember these when they were on Sunday nights in the sixties, a reality show that didn't suck

That lady at 4:00 had an Edith Bunker (Mrs. Archie Bunker) voice. Love how she had the sense to get the plate number. Times and people were more innocent then, but these pranks really caught them off guard. Now we have so much evil to deal with in the many phone and online scams.

Edith did have a unique voice but it has been a while since I heard it. I also have diminished hearing when it comes to tones, so you are probably right.
@@islandgal500 Okay. I'm glad that you noticed that. It sounds like you have nerve deafness. I don't know if the otolaryngologists still call it that or if they changed the name. I keep forgetting what otolaryngologists call themselves now. Obviously they specialize in treating the ears, throat, and nose. I had to go to one since I was 21 years old because I have an artificial septum in my nose. I'm 65 now. That must be hard to have problems distinguishing the different sound tones, but I can see why it would be difficult for you to hear her voice accurately. I hope that you can get help from a specialist for that.
@@lynettepalecek3141 I'm 71 and have had a hearing aid for about 25 years but have had issues since I was a toddler. Parents took me to all kinds of specialists. There are some sounds in ranges that I do not pick up, even with the hearing aid.
Edith's voice just popped out at me (that nasal whine). I suppose it is how our brain interprets the signals. I've never bothered with a fancy stereo system either - no point.
That drive through concept will never catch on.
I am old enough to remember when fast food places added drive thru windows. My parents said it was pure evil laziness, but we all ended up going to the dark side & using them eventually. Lol
