Thank you. Freddie is woefully underrated and under played nowadays. Great lesson!

Underrated? He’s one of the “Three Kings”

I have been playing guitar for almost 50 yrs. It wasn't until I came across Thoms channel, that I actually enjoyed playing the bloody things !
I tried to be technically perfect in everything I wanted to play resulting in tensions pouring through my fingers making what I was playing un-listenable (IMO).
I came across a vid from Thom about 2 years ago or so, and the theme was it doesn't really matter what you are playing or the technical proficiency of the piece, but just enjoy iplaying it.
I took this advice to heart, and now my playing has improved exponentially. lol I can now even play in public. Amazing !!!!!!!

Terrific lesson Thom! Gotta love Freddie King! Definitely one of the greatest Blues guitarist/singers of all time! Wish that I could have seen him live in concert. Hope that you & your family are doing well.
    👍👍🎸🎸

Although one of the three "kings" of early rock and blues, Freddy gets, by far, the least amount of attention despite having created so many memorable tunes. Thanks for featuring him and providing your inimitable analysis of his musical genius.

Cool. It's like a variation on another one of Freddy King's songs Hideaway. I saw Freddy King live with Eric Clapton in Jersey City back in the mid 70s after Clapton made his comeback in 1974 after being gone for a few years. Freddy was amazing. Also I didn't know Freddy was so big and tall. A memorable experience watching Freddy.

Great vid Thom, I learned this back in the 70s after I got a Freddy King album that was all instrumentals, also saw Freddy live a couple times in Seattle, he was a very powerful performer. I really appreciate your playing!

Great lesson and nicely played. But one constructive comment. Your camera is on auto focus and it is bumping focus as you play. Put the camera in manual focus and it won't go anywhere. Nice looking image too!! (go to 2:02 to see autofocus)

Wow, you were actually explaining where you are on the guitar… You’ve never done that before. Finally?
And by the way, Eric Gales plays that rift better than anyone. Check it out.

Gales plays left handed with the strings right handed just like Freddie King did. They both have a unique sound because of their style. Thanks for a fun video lesson!
