You see, in this world, there's two kinds of people, my friend... those who can do an amazing Ennio Morricone version and those who listen to them... we listen to them !
You know how much Ennio is loved when someone as big as Metallica does a cover.. EPIC. Today EM passed away to become one with the divine Rhythm..! Om Shanti 🙏
How can anyone criticize this? This is a giant of one form of music paying a huge tribute to a genius of another, completely different form of music. No, it doesn't literally compare to Morricone's original, but it isn't meant to. It is Metallica and Morricone meeting half in between, and is wonderful.
CAUSE THEY PLAYED IT SLOPPY AND BUTCHERED IT. they where great when young and hungry. now just lazy gifting multi millionaires. maestro ennio may had made some money too, i hope, but every concert till 80s was top quality and he kept on evolving and improving his music. these guys are circus performers that let go in the early 90s.
how can no one appreciate this? even if u don't like the band u still need to recognize they're playing it because they love the song. this is fuckin great if anything
What a fantastic tribute to the absolute best film composer ever. Not many bands have the talent to do this song justice, but these dudes just flat kill it.
This is one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite movies. Kudos to Metallica for remembering Tuco running around Sad Hill Cemetery 👏 Eli Wallach is smiling down on this.
Matt Durbidge yeah not so much, I love James but umm no Kirk is a lot better than James with the Wah, when you use it in almost every song in the past 30 years, you tend to be better than someone who used it once in the past 30 years. let's get real
Undoubtedly, James Hetfield is one of the most fantastic icons in rock and metal history. What a great deal of spirit in his solo there is. Outstanding performance .
You have to love this, the guitars (and only two at that) are doing the singing and the work most covers require a full symphony to get the sound Metallica produces -- the sound causes chills to go up me back each time I listen to this... just absolutely fantastic !!
A Masterpiece of all times, no Metallica even Ennio Morricone composed for a supreme scene of cinema of all times of the times, The Ectasy of Gold, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Excelllent cover.
I love it when James does his Solos, its so perfect in every way. I could easily say he's probably the best Guitarist ever and he knows it. He solos when he wants and when he does its perfect. Rarely does solo cause, the greats don't show off :D
I know im 8 years late but Marty Friedman, Chuck Schuldiner, James Murphy, Gary Holt, Chris Poland, Dave Mustaine, Alex Skolnick, Kiko Loureiro and many other guitarist are better than him in lead playing. He's still an awesome guitar player
I hope that everyone realises that metallica have been using this as their intro music for years now and they're just having some fun covering this for the Danish fans
Ennio è un patrimonio dell'umanità e la versione orchestrale di ecstasy of gold, inarrivabile. Ma il tributo di questo orgasmo di chitarre è M E R A V I G L I O S O . Bravi
R.I.P Ennio Morricone, you're a true legend.
BLYATMAN LADA 💔🙌🏻
Agreed! He collaborated with Pet Shop Boys, let Metallica cover his work--legend! RIP.
Is he a rocker?
@@thegame6141 🤣
@@thegame6141sure was.
Metallica is just honoring the master with this, stop all the criticism. For a band at this level to cover someone's work is ultimate respect
+Giggidygiggidy12 100% Correct.

Who the hell is bitching that Metallica covered Ennio Morricone!? I'll kill their grand parents, tasteless swine!
Giggidygiggidy12 ,
I wonder what 'The Master' make of it. Gets a bit of royalty money though I guess!
The greatness of a person is when they celebrated you already alive. Rest in peace Ennio.

Ennio was THE MAN! Rest in power great Maestro!

Wow fuck
patricia janeckova does a great version of this song; maybe she should join forces with metallica; check her version out on you tube.
is that james on a wah peddal... my life is complete...
They are showing their respect and appreciation of a master composer. It's not a competition, it's honor.

Ignorance. 🥲
Ennio Morricone recently passed away, so that makes this video much more emotional to me. They should play this again as a tribute to him.
I think they played it on some concerts as intro music
@Krystal Alpha McCloud still?
how can no one appreciate this? even if u don't like the band u still need to recognize they're playing it because they love the song. this is fuckin great if anything
slava mu
rip z0mby lol
Great cover. When a top band does a cover of another master musician you know it's a work of love and honor.
wooowwwww
3:30 James is a very talented lead guitar. It's amazing.
He executed beautifuly these solos.
He is way better than kirk... he just doesnt show it
What a fantastic tribute to the absolute best film composer ever. Not many bands have the talent to do this song justice, but these dudes just flat kill it.
Nice. Metallica paying their respects to the boss. His music will live forever and not doubt be covered by many bands of future generations.

A brilliant song by a great artist. Incidentally, I have searching for this track for ages, so I am in music paradise. Love this track.

Wonderful superb great music and movie.
While I still prefer the original version more, as far as covers go this is bad ass and it works great with their play style.
Sends tingles down my spine 21 years later from the first day I heard these gods and I only love them more Metallica till I die baby!!
Was a great concert. I was screaming my lungs out when I realised they were playing this song.
i love how the audience try to sing along. awesome.

Original and metallica is good. I like both.
I got the chills and goose bumps listening to this. ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!
Different genre, different style...same level of epic. This surprised me on so many levels, and I love it! :D
This has to be the oldest and most enduring cover by Metallica in existence, and it became a staple of the band's live performances.
James Hetfield: "I don't always use wah-wah, but when i do, i make sure it KICKS ASS"
Great tribute by a great band ..\m/
Only Metallica can pull off something this epic
Rest In Peace to Mr. Morricone
Descanse em paz grande Maestro. Sua obra jamais será esquecida. Metallica homenageando em vida. Obrigado.
If only they had Susanna Rigacci to help them out.............
R.I.P Ennio Morricone 👏👏👏👏👏🥰
