We stayed in Oakland about 4 years ago. In the downtown area. There’s a train that runs downtown. At 3 AM it rolled through and my Wife and I jumped out of bed and were like WTF. They love hip hop in Oakland. And you smell weed everywhere.
The City of Oakland absolutely abandoned the Raiders and showed no interest in keeping them in Oakland. I'm glad the Raiders left for greener pastures in Vegas. I mean the stadium alone is one of the best in football.
A new stadium does not make a franchise, and while Oakland is a S-Hole of a city, the fans loved them and were devastated when they left for LA the first time. Now it has happened again, and they likely will never be back. Sadly the A's & Warriors (both championship franchises) have also left, so all there is to do in Oakland is get mugged, join the racist Black Panthers.
They renovated the stadium. A city as poor as poor as Oakland could have done anything better with those tax dollar, but they subsidized a 3-13 team that don't even play in the newly renovated stadium.
This is 100% factually incorrect. Oakland spent over $200 million to renovate the coliseum to bring the raiders back. They also spent another $200 plus million and paid for 3 different developers and offered over 100 acres for development for the Raiders to make money off like a Northern California version of LA live. Since Oakland doesn't own the Raiders they needed an actual partner that was willing to negotiate with them, give them a counter proposal or any type of proposal. The raiders did no such thing. Bowl cut wanted a hand out. Instead he gets a stand alone stadium in the middle of the desert that gets taken over by opposing fans. yeah sure enjoy the desert.
Technically its four. If you go back to the 70's Oakland even lost NHL. The California Golden Seals played out of Oaklnd. I feel bad for their fans; they have lost all of the big four----NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL.
It reminds me when my mom and dad used to cut my brother’s and my hair. Always before the first day of school and we would end up looking like Herman Munster
Greed and revenue are two different aspects of money topics. Being in Oakland it was revenue vs. profits were low compared to other teams. Since the NFL doesn't have revenue sharing like MLB, the Raiders were stuck with a toilet bowl stadium that generated low revenue. If you want Davis to compete and sign top players, that would require signing bonuses. In Oakland Davis couldn't afford do that since the money is up front. Now with the revenue generating in Vegas, each year it'll be easier and easier for Davis to sign off on signing bonuses to get good players. Greed is a personal character trait, where one needs more, when there's plenty. Revenue is the representation of the Raiders organizations operation, measured in dollar value over standard format of being annually. As a Socal Raiders fan, its much easier to get to Vegas, pick and choose where I want to stay and decide if I want to drive or fly and in the future by train. Oakland offered me 1 nearby hotel which cost more than any Vegas hotel I choose and I always had to choose to fly for convivence reasons. My family is now once again ticket holders, first it was LA, now in Vegas.
Oakland Raiders fan here, both and raised in Oakland. Season tix holder every year we were back from LA. From a business perspective of course it made sense. My hometown is in such ruins the last thing on their priority list was keeping the Raiders. Ronnie Lotts group did have a very legit plan and offer but that’s where all parties said no thanks which is sad cause Ronnie being a Bay Area Legend knew the value of keeping our boys where they belong. From a dedicated fan perspective, it’s devastating. I know I’ll get laughed at but hey it’s true. I’m still a fan of course but I just cannot get myself to accept “Vegas Raiders”. I just competed a book on how this move destroyed our Raider culture. Hopefully it’ll be out next year. Cheers all!
Well let us know what the title is and were to get it. I have been a fan of all the Oakland teams, and while thankfully I do not live there, it is sickening to think the residents keep hiring incompetent leaders that have cause the city to go to hell, making all their teams leave.
I agree the move destroyed the fan base. It destroyed the rivalries. It really destroyed sports in a way for millions of Bay Area people. Bay Area people know first hand now that sports is not about fans. Business first. Entertainment second. Competition third. Remember this if your a fan of any sport.
This second leaving is wrong. The Raiders were waiting for the A’s to move to the Howard Terminal location in Oakland in 2014, as they had announced, allowing the Raiders to build a new football-only stadium on the current Coliseum site. The A’s then screwed over the the Raiders by signing a 10 year lease with the Coliseum Authority, even buying half ownership of the stadium. Mark Davis didn’t initially want to move, but he was being pressured by the likes of Jerry Jones and other owners. Moving to Las Vegas increased the value of the team…and subsequently, the value of every other NFL franchise, nearly two fold overnight. I had Raiders season tickets for well over ten years, and I’m a Broncos fan. I went to all of the AFC West games and sold the other tickets. I wanted to see the Raiders stay in Oakland. Generally speaking, the Oakland Raiders fan base had no issue with the location of the Coliseum; it fit the ghetto image of the Oakland fans. When they were planning the new stadium in Vegas, I was invited over to a presentation for season ticket holders to buy seats at the new stadium. My four seats were going to increase by a factor of six., from $3,000 to $18,000 per season. And no tailgating; they wanted you to stay in the casinos right up until game time. Now Davis complains that there are more visiting team fans at the stadium than Raiders fans. It’s become a destination trip for the other teams’ fan base. Raiders tickets are some of the highest in the league…for a losing franchise. Now Fisher and his hapless A’s are trying to do the same thing. Watch…Fisher will try to sell the team once they move to the new location. The A’s ain’t the Raiders, he’ll lose his greedy ass. That’s the TRUE story.
There's character here in Oakland. Just no direction. The league pushed the move to Vegas. That's why they funded a big chunk of money for the stadium. Remember the Ronnie Lott group, and the deal that Davis liked? The league had WAY more money, and influenced them to move. Remember, AL Davis wanted to stay, and he would've took the deal.
One reason had to be the rampant crime in Oakland. It’s getting worse and worse every day. Oakland - high crime, team gone. St. Louis - high crime, team gone. Chicago - high crime, trying very hard to leave to the more calm suburbs. Crime isn’t the only reason, but it’s a big one.
Oakland is 10 technicals and a warlord away from being Mogadishu on the bay. The surprising thing is that any sports team is still there. The third world thinks Oakland is a dump.
Raiders aren’t leaving Vegas. The city has so much invested and has wanted pro teams for years. And here’s something some people don’t know. Athletics are coming to Vegas in 2028 season. So once Vegas has MLB the next question is when are they getting their basketball team?
Yes. This marks the Raider's second time leaving Oakland. Oakland is in the well off San Francisco Bay Area but the city of Oakland itself is not rich. The fact that it had at one time 3 professional sports teams is crazy considering that. The A's, Warriors, Raiders all once called the city home. Today they're all gone or slated to leave. Even the Warriors move wasn't that far... They simply left to go across the bridge to play in much more well off San Francisco. Also, I'm still quite against the basic idea of taxpayers paying for stadiums so that rich people can make even more money.
Well technically they do share the stadium, but I’m pretty sure UNLV pays rent to the Raiders. Also, they use turf and the Raiders play on regular grass. Allegiant is a great-looking stadium!
I have made it a point to visit stadiums and arenas that were special. I am also a huge Raiders fan. Oakland was a special place to see a game. The Oakland Alameda Coliseum was as much a part of the Raiders image as the tough guys that played for them. The Davis family tried like hell to get the city of Oakland to work with them. As we can see by the overall status of Oakland it was a wise move to go to Vegas. That said, I do miss games in Oakland. That place had character.
Raiders did not abandon Oakland, the mayor at the time Libby Schaff and Oakland abandoned the Raiders. They abandoned the people who were connected with the coliseum and arena venues. Hard working people who relied on the seasonal $$. Shaff created a huge unemployment fiasco so she could go to bed with “rooted in Oakland” Athletics. Now the A’s have no city, will play in a minor league venue in Crapamento eventually move to Vegas and Oakland now lost 3 pro teams to city leadership incompetence. If the A’s chose to leave to Vegas prior to the Raiders relocation, Davis would have stayed loyal to Oakland and it’s fans and workers. His poor business practices may have doomed any stadium deal but he could have brokered a deal with Ronnie Lott’s group or even Steve Young whose name was floating around as well. All in all Oakland has been f$&ked by inept mayors and for some reason all the blame falls on Al and the Raiders. Let’s not talk about the corrupt don Peralta who was part of the fleecing of Oakland with his corruption. Look into the Oakland football marketing group for ruining the first Gruden era.

It's key to note that Mt. Davis cost the City of Oakland and Alameda County hundreds of millions of dollars which took decades to pay off. The Raiders were never able to fill the seats and Oakland had to cut back on public services in order to continue paying off the debt.
Grew up in a whole line of niner fans but if the raiders moved to Sacramento when they left LA it would have changed for me as a kings fan in the 2010s as a kid even i would rep a team that represents my town so id probably be the only raider fan in my household lol
Oakland is filled with crime. I drive by it every week to get to work and each week I see something new. Just a couple days ago I saw a car with no license plate purposely treating red lights like it was a stop sign. Guy must've played too much GTA.

LOL... I think the Raiders still would've been the Oakland Raiders if they would've shared Levi's with the Niners It would've been awkward seeing the Raiders play home games at Levi's with the red seats in the backdrop though, but I think they would've had neutral colored seats if the Niners and Raiders would've shared Levi's.
@@SIr3N128 Going equal partner with Niners would’ve been a better decision than moving to Vegas! Value of Raiders would’ve skyrocketed to 5-6 billion and team stays in Bay Area!
The locals got a brand new stadium in the 60s.( taxes) then they left for LA. Then came back in ‘95 ( more taxes). Then wanted a new stadium ( MORE TAXES). It’s easy to understand. Sad but very true. RN4L ALL IN AUTUM WIND
Mark moving the Raiders gave them a nicer stadium, sure, but it completely stripped them of one of the most celebrated and loyal fan bases in all of sports history. They’ve completely lost the home field advantage they had in Oakland because Vegas is a city full of transplants who root for their true home teams when they come to town. And Mark Davis has shown regret about moving them from Oakland for that reason (even if only a modicum). People who keep saying Oakland is too dangerous and poor to have teams clearly have never been to places like Detroit, Baltimore, Cleveland and even St. Louis. MOST American cities have high crime. That really has nothing really to do with where sports teams decide to play. This move was about GREED.
First of all, they didn't play in Oakland in the first place, but San Francisco, at Kezar and Candlestick in 1960 and 1961! Glad that was pointed out in the video.
I went to Oakland for a concert downtown. When I was walking someone from the like the 4th story of some building threw a random ass bucket of water missing me by about 5 feet. When I returned to my car after the concert the car in from of mine has a window bashed in.
Oakland is a dump compared to las Vegas. Since the success of the golden knights of the NHL the raiders followed suit and so did the A's. Vegas has life where Oakland looks dead
@@FootballLoreOfficial I wouldn't LOL about that. LA has the biggest and most loyal Raider Nation fanbase in the world. It made more sense for the Raiders to return to Los Angeles where they already have a connection to and a built in fanbase than moving to Las Vegas where they are not the dominant team as far as fans go. They are outnumbered by 49ers, Cowboys, and Chiefs fans.
From a business perspective, the A’s and raiders leaving for Las Vegas makes sense. But for someone who grew up watching them and being a fan of Bay Area sports, it hurts. Went to a few A’s games with my grandpa when me and my siblings were younger. Always had a great time. I think Oakland could’ve done more to try to keep both teams but poor leadership and groups fighting tooth and nail to prevent the A’s from building the new stadium screwed it up. The fans were loyal, it’s the city and John fisher who weren’t. I don’t blame the raiders tho. My brother went to the raiders new stadium, he said it was really pretty but felt… what’s the word… incomplete… kinda like Levi stadium. Almost like something is missing. It just doesn’t feel the same.
@@FootballLoreOfficial I wouldn’t say held hostage. More like… what’s a good way to put it… residents are mislead by city officials who say they will bring the change that Oakland desperately needs and are the only ones who can do it only for nothing to change. Oakland used to be a great industrial town, but poor leadership and arguably the government outsourcing industry jobs killed it.
Good News: Allegiant Stadium is one of the best stadiums currently today. Bad News: The Raiders continue to suck in Vegas. Mark Davis is notorious for being cheap. All he cares is money rather than his mouth.
Lot's of businesses are leaving Oakland, including Chevron. No one should be required to stay in a declining city with an incompetent and corrupt government.

It would've been awkward seeing the Raiders play home games at Levi's with the red seats in the backdrop though, but I think they would've had neutral colored seats if the Niners and Raiders would've shared Levi's.
I think i twas LA or nothing really, they arent a san fran team
@@SIr3N128 Going equal partner with Niners would’ve been a better decision than moving to Vegas! Value of Raiders would’ve skyrocketed to 5-6 billion and team stays in Bay Area!
The bigger question is why all three professional franchises have or are abandoning Oakland. When you look at it in that context it makes sense.
it stinks there
It doesn't matter where they play their cursed by the time they start winning i"ll be dead n gone Raiders fan forever !❤
lol
The locals got a brand new stadium in the 60s.( taxes) then they left for LA. Then came back in ‘95 ( more taxes). Then wanted a new stadium ( MORE TAXES). It’s easy to understand. Sad but very true. RN4L ALL IN AUTUM WIND
they don't want to pay for anything
It is a neutral site now
Home field advantage?
First of all, they didn't play in Oakland in the first place, but San Francisco, at Kezar and Candlestick in 1960 and 1961! Glad that was pointed out in the video.
I went to Oakland for a concert downtown. When I was walking someone from the like the 4th story of some building threw a random ass bucket of water missing me by about 5 feet. When I returned to my car after the concert the car in from of mine has a window bashed in.
thats crazy
Better question: why did the Raiders leave Candlestick Park in SF after 1961?
idk
Almost the Irwindale Raiders back in 87’
yep
Oakland is a dump compared to las Vegas. Since the success of the golden knights of the NHL the raiders followed suit and so did the A's. Vegas has life where Oakland looks dead
facts
I’m from Oakland, and I totally understand why the left 🫤
LOL
Im in oakland it made sense. Plus we are getting better option
nah Vegas is wayyyyy better
Oakland is an overpriced dumpster, but they should build a sports museum dedicated to all professional sports based in that city.
I don't think they'll ever have teams again
The Raiders moved to Paradise. Las Vegas has nothing to do with this.
Brother, with all due respect Paradise is operated by the city of Las Vegas.
It was originally “The Alameda Senor’s”
sorry
Ohh how I wanted the Raider to come back to LA ..
LOL
Oakland has done itself no favors unfortunately for the residents, held hostage by a garabage city government
How is the team doing on the field with that shiny new stadium that is a home team for the visitors.
facts
Because the Raiders believe they can make more revenue in Las Vegas than in Oakland. Simple. Always follow the MONEY.....
always
Oakland abandoned them! And its people smh
yep
So, Mark Davis has a lucky haircut?
yes
Mark Davis ought to afford a better haircut.
way too rich for that
Doesnt need to he marchs to the beat of his own drum
I was born and raised in Oakland. I abandoned it the first chance I had. So I understand.
lol
I can answer the question of this video with one word MONEY!
lol
Raiders will stay in Las Vegas for as long as they can and possibly forever
I think so too
they should have moved to Mexico City
idk about that LMAO
They did not abandon Oakland. Oakland didn’t even want to work with them.
not as good of a title
Goodbye Oakland-Hello Las Vegas
yep
Will the Oakland A's be next?
100%
Eventually, even though Las Vegas is Dodgers territory!
Good News: Allegiant Stadium is one of the best stadiums currently today.
Bad News: The Raiders continue to suck in Vegas. Mark Davis is notorious for being cheap. All he cares is money rather than his mouth.
most owners SUCK
I hope the raiders don't fold.
How is Mark Davis being Cheap?
@@KadeemG61 no home field advantage in Vegas for Raiders!
@@KadeemG61 The New York Jets in the desert
Should read why did Oakland abandon the raiders, as and warriors. They had owners for years trying to work on stadium deals with no success.
because they smell
If you've been to Oakland....................the stadium is in a terrible location!
Oakland is scary!
Oakland is not a place ANYONE should go. I'm a CA resident and you don't go there for any reason. Plus the stadium wore out 25 years ago.
yep
Look like Simple Jack lmao 😆
LMAO
We need to know why he keeps that haircut
* Al Davis came to the Raiders in 1963
Lot's of businesses are leaving Oakland, including Chevron. No one should be required to stay in a declining city with an incompetent and corrupt government.
agreed
Chevron HQ is in San Ramon, a relatively wealthy suburb about 30 minutes drive away.
It’s over for us Oakland
yepp
Have you been to Oakland? Its a dump and the stadium is worse
oakland is a dump
People in Oakland vacation to Detroit they like to visit nicer cities.
@@morrisvalentneflatlander4784 whats so funny is im from Detroit, so yeah I go home to Vacation😂😂
Blame it all on the cities whilst the teams just rake in the dough. Brilliant.
Oakland is a joke
RAIDERS. Win Superbowl then ask Oakland please build us a New stadium? Answer no. Ok they move to L.A win superbowl again please build the stadium you promised? L.A. no, so again. They move to of all places law vegas? Now new stadium so when will we win a Superbowl again? Who knows. Cause every time we WIN we get stabbed in the back. So hopefully before I passaway, we might see a another Superbowl again but I don't know if we will ever in my time......
Raider FOREVER.....
lol
The REAL REASON the Raiders left Oakland?? TOO FREAKING EXPENSIVE HERE IN THE BAY AREA!!! That’s it! Taxes here in the entire Bay Area are just outrageous! I don’t blame the kid for taking the Raiders out of California……
Oakland sucks kinda
They couldn’t get a new stadium in Oakland
yes
Raiders should have moved to San Antonio instead of Las Vegas
facts
There is only one Las Vegas.
for the person that made this video if you are going to talk about the Raiders new stadium then please get the nickname correct... it's called the 'death star' not the roomba....
I literally live next to it and call it Roomba, you probably are still poor in Oakland
You guys have a sister city: BALTIMORE run by the same culture
and also lost their team
Good for them ! I hope all business will leave Oakland , they don’t need to do businesses in a city or state that protect criminal!!!!
lol
When you got famous In and Out burger restaurant leave Oakland you got your answer 🤓
haha
I should say I'll Davis the Sun gets his haircut by Tupperware
they went bankrupt
Maybe because they were afraid of getting robbed or killed getting to or leaving the game? Maybe just a possibility? They don’t want to get bipped
LMAO
Thank God none of that happens in Vegas!🤣
How the Oakland A's are leaving to Las Vegas
yes
Simple the A’s owner John Fisher pushed them out. Oakland chose the A’s over the Raiders
facts
And now they're losing the A's too
@@mawile2468 I don’t feel bad for Oakland. They put their hopes on a franchise that has had horrible management and for some reason they thought it would be a good idea to go with them. Over an NFL team
Had Amy Trask took over Raider instead of moron Mark Davis, the team would still be in Bay Area either new stadium in Oakland or equal partners with Niners! No reason to move to Vegas
I think its better for them long term
@@FootballLoreOfficial no it’s not! Too much moving
The only ghetto suburb to ever have an NFL team.
facts
Oakland is home.
not anymore
@@FootballLoreOfficial Forever
They should have never went back to Oakland in the first place. They should've stayed in L.A. and build a new stadium while playing at the dated out coliseum.
They should’ve never left Oakland in 1982
Scam boy Davis wanted the taxpayers to pay for everything....and the LA taxpayers said " Stick it in your ear, Davis"
it was a mess
Greed, danger and $$$$$ is why they left...
yes
It's debatable which is the bigger chit stain of a city Oakland, San Fran or LA
lmao
I lived in Oakland for a few years in the 80s. It was, is, and will always be, a shithole.
lol
The Death Star guy...
yes
