    These units make me pretty sad actually. These are usually rented following an eviction or sometimes when a child is seized by DHS and it's cheaper to rent a storage unit to hold your stuff than a whole apartment.
    To us it's just a bunch of toys and clothes but to some little kid.. this was their whole world.

    Twenty bucks on this storage locker that definitely paid off ! My estimate for the Igloo cooler would be ten bucks, a lot of flea market items, and don´t forget the tons of clicks you will get for a P & M "Storage Wars" clip. So, finally you will make a decent profit, let´s say we got a total retail value of 100,- $ ++. Great score, in my humble opinion ! 👍A very entertaining show, keep it up and have a good one, Renée ! 🤞Greets from GER, U.

      Still waiting for that storage unit that contains boxes and boxes of ephemera! Whether that be postcards, old photos, whatever it might be, I'm not picky! Haha. Attended an in-person storage auction today where it looked like the person collected hippos! Everything that you could see was hippo related. Would love to have won it, but the price kept climbing, climbing, climbing!

      For some reason, renting one of those seemed like such a big deal. Can't go anywhere on Saturday, we have to go rent the rug cleaner! Then you have to decide on which room you were going to stay in for hours because my mom would not allow anyone to walk on the living room rug until it was almost dry, which took hours. We would eventually put down pieces of paper and step on those if we needed to go into the living room.

    For $20 I think you've made your money back, but for as dirty as those cloths and toys were it will take some work to be able to sell them. It is a shame that the toys were so dirty, it makes you wonder what kind of environment the kids/kid was living in. It is exciting though to bid on the units and then hope you got some good sellable stuff. Thanks for letting us see it, I hope to see another adventure soon.

  • @stephenritz5581

    Hey - solid unit, not flashy. If your flea market has one of those maternity swaps on a specific weekend, you would make out well, I think. I think you'll make out well anyway. I'm choosing to believe some parents were decluttering and put stuff outgrown by their older kids in storage - or told the kids if they wanted it they had to store it - rather than some sad scenario. We didn't have a lot of wall-to-wall in our house growing up but we had some, including shag. I don't ever remember renting a shampooer. Seems like most of the commenters did - I'm beginning to wonder whether our neighbors considered us among the great unwashed (the basement, with W2W, flooded with stormwater one year so it got cleaned once at least)?. Exciting items will come up in future units. This is not exactly the same - but maybe you read that one of the original X-Wing fighters from the 3rd Star Wars movie was found at the estate of a guy who worked at Industrial Light & Magic. It was a highly-detailed model used for close shots - and was the one Luke Skywalker flew down the trench in(Red 5) and blew up the Death Star (I know you haven't seen it so sorry for the spoiler 😇). The model was thought to have been lost but it just sold at auction for ~$3.1M. Your X-Wing is out there waiting for you. Thanks for having us along. Have a great Monday afternoon!

    • @PaperandMoose
      @PaperandMoose  Год назад +2

      I did see that! Crazy. That story & discovery makes you wonder what is out there and what is yet to be found. My X-Wing is out there, I agree! $3.1 Million... Unbelievable. I'd certainly be able to devote a nice amount of time to my research. Book some time in Yellowstone, hop on a plane to Munich, and be the winning bidder at all of the storage auctions I go to! At least the toys and clothing can now either be sold or donated, rather than ending up in the dumpster which is what the facility would have done if it wouldn't have sold at the auction. I'll still be on the lookout for my X-Wing though :0)

If it were me and I was going to wash them I would definitely take them to the laundry mat. That way if there is any bugs or such you aren’t washing them in your washer. Plus it’s so much faster. Just load it into the jumbo washers and get it done in no time. Geeezzzz just cleaning all of the toys up to sell them is a lot of work. Stay safe and God Bless

I would suggest going through the kids clothes, wash the unstained ones and take them to your local buy/sell/trade store. When you open the door and the unit looks like that, it's pretty obvious that the facility has already gone thru it and grabbed what they wanted. Nobody that pays to rent a locker would just throw their belongings inside like that. They would be a hell of a lot neater about it since they cared enough to pay the rental fee.

      Could be an eviction unit. The landlord sometimes has to retain the tenant's goods for 60 days, but they're not likely to be very careful.

    They spent a crazy amount on all that Rynas world toys. My son asks for the surprise eggs. I can't see thays it worth the money when most the crap in them is pennies on a dollar or dollar tree stuff just printed with his name. Cocomelon is huge seller too.

      I remember hearing about the whole Ryan's World craze a few years ago and how the toys would sell out so quickly at the stores. Guess there is always that "fad" toy!
