Do not give up on that same time quiet time! It's the hill I die on. There's been rough times for sure but I stuck to my guns and held the line. Now my 5 and 3 year old just know that 1-3pm is quiet time. Always. No exceptions. I let them play in their rooms but it's 2hrs of guaranteed rest for everyone everyday. Seriously makes our lives so much better.
How do you train them? Do you lock the door in the beginning or how do you do it? I don't want it to be traumatic but I also know the importance of habit!
@jordynlopez8974 I babysat my friends kid's regularly and with her blessing, I did successfully train the youngest. He was just old enough to understand what I was saying. I'd explain the rules. He stays in bed for all of naptime. He abig kid and at 2 able to manipulate the lock so I'd literally set up camp with a book and headphones and my phone outside his door to ensure that he was safe and I held the door shut by hand. My word, the fit he threw. He screamed and screamed for probably an hour or more. He pulled on the door for much of that time. I answered the first time explaining that it was naptime, we were all resting, and I'd let him know when it was over. He called on his mother, told me he hated me, told me he missed me, threatened me...I said absolutely nothing and held the door closed. He finally stopped trying and laid down on his bed. Wouldn't you know, the next time he was over, he laid down and went right to sleep. He knew I wasn't going to budge, and fighting was useless. You can not give in a single time. If they think they have a chance or you go in and try to comfort periodically, they will continue screaming for it every time. No way does he do this for his mom as she tends to be more lenient on the naptime than me. But when he's at my house... he has no problem obeying the rules even years later.
@jordynlopez8974 people say far too many things are "traumatic" for kids these days. Making sure their needs are all met, explaining a rule, and holding a line offers them predictability and security. My kids can do far more things than most kids bc they've been trained to obey in the little things. The minute they have a need that is not "I just want my way because I want it" I'll meet that need in a heartbeat. All the snuggles and cuddles and extra loving if they are unwell or hurt . "I want my way because I want it" is NOT a need.
Oakly looks so big already ❤😭 I'm 9 months post partum and JUST now accepted that I can't do one of those trendy extravagant what I eat I a day meals. So I appreciate the honesty and realness of this video lol
Yes yes yes! So important to get at least 30 grams of protein per meal x3 for pregnant and postpartum mamas. Would love to see some high protein meal ideas 💗
It would be so awesome if you made a video on the reality of healing postpartum. Soreness swelling tips and tricks. How long it lasts! You never hear about the reality of what postpartum actually looks like for women other than bleeding for weeks. Going through postpartum for the first time right now and would love some tips from how you healed quickly!
Love how REAL you are. I feel like I’m hanging out with a friend. I’m a mom of 3 and I get it. Food really does influence our mood- and I wish more people acknowledged this… especially while breastfeeding and postpartum!! Thank you for you videos- keep them coming.
I love the realness of this video too! I have a 7 month old and it’s super wild getting breakfast, lunch, and dinner together along with toggling workouts, school, and life! So thanks for sharing! And also I have been doing high protein as well and I’m trying to eat more “clean” Whole Foods and eliminate processed foods which is hard to do!
Would love to hear more about how you create a routine for a 3 month old pls! I have a almost 2 month old baby girl and currently feels like I’m never gonna have an “organised” life again 😂😂😂 thank you for your content ❤
Omg Sage still does a 2 hour nap 😮? My kid dropped her nap entirely before 2.5. Even if she gets 30 minutes she’s UP until 10pm. She sleeps like 13 hours at night which is great but it just means no nap during the day
Yes to the wellness 2024 video! Sage and Oakley are so cute! I have been hearing more and more about the benefits of adding more protein but I haven't tried it out yet. Also I use soft tacos more often but hard shells are good too. - Janis
I appreciate your what I eat in the day videos. You are balanced with your eating. Not sure if you’ve done a video for this but have you ever been at a point where you needed to lose weight? If so, have you ever calorie counted or what’s your method for weight loss? Also not sure if you prefer these type of questions. Thanks in advance!
It is easier when it's not your job. I now only have youtube left in terms of social media and on my phone I only have apps like audible or kindle, so when i'm waiting somewhere with my phone, I don't loose time scrolling. I check youtube on my laptop once a day because i still follow some content creators on there, but I ditched all the other platforms.
Right I only use Instagram for our family business and don’t ever get on my personal account anymore lol. I have to go through my RUclips occasionally to save videos to my watch later so I can watch them when I actually have time.
Hi Nikole! I love your videos and how realistic they are. Could you do one on your daily routines with Sage and Oakley? with timings of Oakley's naps and feeds, that would be super helpful for a new mum like me :) Thanks and take care!
I need to recalculate exactly how much I need for my body weight and breastfeeding now but I am for just protein at every meal and wow such a different
Love your what I eat in a day videos, they give good ideas! I'm wondering where you buy the cinnamon bread and the Simple Mills snacks? Do your find them in store or buy them online?
Hello one tip what I have from my certified babywearing educator - you should never put on baby onesies when you babywear because they pull their fingers up and it is paintful and really bad for the heels. Imagine when you sit in pants and they slide up. Because of the closed onesises the fabric is going only up and cause what I wrote.
i know you do vitamin stuff for Sage. But is there an actual reason why you do more vitamins? Does she not get all her nutrients from food? Just curious
Omggg girl that is soo crazzy my baby is 3 months tooo awww that soo cutee lol!! & yayayaa finally you upload this video I needed ideas girll lol thank you soo muchh!!!🩷💗💕💕🥰🥰😍😍🙌😊😇
I wonder if you could share a what I eat but with more affordable options? So many of the brands you buy I just can’t afford. I wonder what the best alternatives are that are more affordable?
True, eggs are not that nutritious, EXCEPT for choline, which many foods lack. I buy it as supplement. Very sour taste but not unpleasant. I'm also sugar sensitive, especially in pregnancy, I literally get the shakes, nausea and sweats from sugar crashes. Emergency sugar needs to stay close.
Sometimes I don’t but I also love sharing this type of content. I try to only film on days I feel like I have the mental capacity to do so and energy 🤪
Good Culture is my fave cottage cheese. I'm Jewish, so I've been eating cottage cheese since I'm a kid. I grew up in Plantation, FL and at the time I remember eating a whipped cottage cheese by Friendship. That one is good too.
This !s how I've been eating too the last few years, focusing as much as possible on whole foods, starting with a savory protein rich breakfast (where I live sweet breakfast is more the norm) It has become even more important because of health issues - my body does not make cortisol anymore- and so whether i eat enough protein and as little as possible procesed food literally makes or breaks my day. Since the pandemic when all the bakeries around us stated closing, my husband started making bread every other day and that has also become a staple of our diet - good bread with complex carbs and fiber. He also adds seeds and nuts to it. Btw thanks for mentionning the complex carbs, it drives me crazy when people lump all carbs in the same category.
Filming these what I eat in a day videos has changed so much since having kids but I also love the more realness of it
Watching you being realistically healthy through different phases of your life has helped me alot in my healthy life journey... Thank you

Yes yes yes! So important to get at least 30 grams of protein per meal x3 for pregnant and postpartum mamas. Would love to see some high protein meal ideas 💗
I cant believe the difference I've noticed in my mental health and mood from eating this way

I much prefer this real life style. I'm pregnant with baby #4 and it's more relatable

Sometimes I don’t but I also love sharing this type of content. I try to only film on days I feel like I have the mental capacity to do so and energy 🤪
@@HealthNutNutrition you're an inspiration, thank you!

Is there a brand of healthy cereal you recommend? Struggling with healthy breakfast choices .

Yes! Sage’s new favourite movie and I couldn’t be happier
@@HealthNutNutrition That’s adorable!! I LOVE that movie! Haven’t seen it in forever but one of my favorites growing up! ❤️
At which store did you find the good culture cottage cheese? Is it organic?
Yes, please share your wellness tips 😊
Yes I would love to see more Food Videos what you eat;)
Wellness video please!
Hard shell all the way 🌮
fun fact: human breastmilk is like 80% carbohydrates! it’s quite low in protein actually which is interesting :)
I guess that makes sense because it’s so sweet
Well thank you for teaching me to put the hard tacos in the oven! No wonder I never liked them lol
😂 you’re welcome!
I never knew that either but love hard shell tacos lol
