If this is really the hardest as you say in the Description, Then I think this is a nod to the thing with people Not Using Lance Cause he Is Not As Good. He is my favourite Character and it's sad he doesn't have much of the love.
+Random Gamer That's an interesting point. IMO Dark Lance has the most variety of bullshit to prepare for, while Dark Matt is a one trick pony. That's why I find the people who think Dark Matt is the hardest are simply not using any worthwhile strategies. But for Dark Lance he can INSTAWIPE your party through physical damage, and is equally capable of annihilating everyone with paralysis lock after Ion. There are various ways he can just circumvent all the OTHER stuff you spent time preparing and gearing for, and kill you with the ONE thing you didn't.
I find it funny that to me Lance was always the best character out in the field and i pretty much never and I say never use Anna, she only comes into play if Lance's Coverage moves aren't working or Matt's, the reasoning behind it is mostly because her coverage moves are really limited to her bow element so she is only helpful in bosses and only for the Reflex, Lance has coverage to pretty much anything (except to holy he really doesn't have those) and is moves really don't depend much on weapons, also a really cool combo I like to do is Temper with Matt and then Unload with Lance for massive damage but in my opinion I find Lance to be one of the better characters in the game....
DarkMario9000 All the characters have merit, but you can choose which ones become best with the skills you give them as well as what stat-boosting items you use on them. The most efficient way to play is to sack one character and never use boosting items on them, making the other 3 proportionately stronger. Lance was my sacked character, because he got the most usage in EBF3 and Anna was new.
EchidnaKida Yeah it varies from person to person but what I really like on EBF4 is that you aren't limited to using only certain skills with certain character with the introduction of Special's now the amount of coverage each character has is alot higher but I see your reasoning to why using Anna its normal and my first time through the game I did the same until this 2nd when I discovered that she isn't as helpful as the others but she is good at inflicting status effects and buffing other characters while the other 3 are more Offensive (well Natz is a bit mixed)
I get stuck in some of these harder battles especially in bosses. But I'm glad I defeated them for a long time. This game is awesome and one of my few favorites.
I would say stacking tons of stun resistance on most of your party is absolutely essential. I was close to beating him twice and his ion cannon stunned my whole party for 3 turns and I just lost. Death resistance is also mandatory on at least one member of your party (preferably the tankiest) because he can just cheese you and kill your tank in one hit. My strategy (I was using full magic attack lance) was to just abuse acid to continually debuff magic resist and poison because poison tick damage is insane when max stacked, and it works pretty well if you get the right resistances against his moves. Using kitten fort for the morale (as well as dragon helm for random morale boost) and ancient monolith to block limit breaks is extremely effective, especially considering the cheap cost of ancient monolith. Aside from having just a viable strategy, the RNG will completely screw you over. Just pray these 2 things don't happen: -Defender uses tons of physical moves which is just a guaranteed kill on one party member -He doesn't use onload on you a ton, especially in a row. (There was a fight where he used unload on me 5 friggin times in a row and I lost just because of that)
Wow amazing gameplay lots of skills, I love that everything is done on epic mode and you even spent your own money for this so keep up the great work I really love your videos! :D
Great, when I got to the dark players, I tried Lance first. I got down half of his half before being annihilated by Unload. The worst part is, that he doesn't even lose any Attack from using it... I call shenanigans.
SirBlackMage I think the first time I tried it was after a prelim scan to read the description, and I had basically just Def / dark / fire / bomb resists. I didn't have lightning or para resist, and he used Ion as his first limit break. It Para'd my entire party and I watched them get wiped before resetting and re-gearing.
EchidnaKida The same thing actually happened to me, but the next turn, A medkit (from the army helmet) came in and cured paralysis on Natalie, which was awesome. I still lost, though, but I got him on my third try.
how come when your characters die and is auto revived, they still have their buffs? when my characters die, and is auto revived all the buffs i had are gone
Auto Revive preserves buffs. So the only reason you would've lost your buffs if you indeed had Auto Revive, would be that the attack Dispelled bufs after dealing damage. If it Dispelled before dealing damage you woud've lost Auto Revive and stayed dead.
Well Mister Capital Words I think it's because you've never been to Battle Mountain. It's a bonus area from the premium pack or the Steam version, both of which aren't free. It contains all the extra equipment to fully fill every inventory screen and a ton of diffuclt bosses: like this one.
It was Lance by a factor of 10. I'm pretty sure I beat Matt on the 2nd try and I know I beat Nat on the 1st. I go in once to scan and memorize their stats, then I reload and equip my strategy... but all these videos are technically the "first" time I fight them in the save file so I do need to spend a turn scanning them. Among other things, all of Lance's physical attacks can cause Instant Death, which really forces you to equip very specifically.
See, Matt's Windslash doesn't WIPE MY ENTIRE FUCKING PARTY like Lance's Unload. I also don't need to balance against multiple destructive elements and status effects, including losing to Lance because his Ion Cannon STUNS MY ENTIRE PARTY. Dark Matt is way easier than Dark Lance both on paper and in practice and in the equip menu.
I think it's pretty fair to say that the dark characters have the same strengths and weaknesses are the regular characters. Matt is certainly the tankiest, but that doesn't make him the hardest. I fought Matt with a very slow and defensive strategy, and didn't debuff him enough or poison him much. He was still much easier than Lance, who I fought with carefully calibrated gear just for him. Lance's variety of physical and magical damage types and status effects is what makes him so dangerous.
Eric Wang Yeah it's your last line of defense. Golden Sun: The Lost Age treated reserve members the same way and had them fill in when your front line party is wiped. I fucking love Golden Sun TLA.
Magic HoodGuy this is battle mountain you can’t get xp from fights here. And all enemy’s are scaled to your level. This is the place you test your skill at this game. If you want to succeed here you have to be smart. Doing this earns you all kinds of bonus equipment the further you advance.
It's fine that you don't like it but don't hold your breath. If you follow Matt at all you'll know that he's working on Bullet Heaven 2 right now. When that's finished he might start on EBF5, or another spin off game, or something different entirely. I'm psyched for BH2 since I loved the first one and 100%'d it.
"You three are dead."
*Matt revives*
"Oh hey, I am alive-"
*"N O."*
Everyone really likes that part of the video.
7:24 Matt: Oh hey! I'm ali-

yeah, Lance's dmg is insane.

Getting rid of your lower jaw seems to make you OP.
7:20
Dark Lance: *And I took that personally.*
3:03 *Learns Lance’s history*
*Even his search history*
7:20 i just saw everyone die and matt revives, then the robot attacks, | Revive DENIED
Yeah that part is great. This game is so fun because it organically creates fun situations like that and it's different for everyone.
I get stuck in some of these harder battles especially in bosses. But I'm glad I defeated them for a long time. This game is awesome and one of my few favorites.
Epic Battle Fantasy 5 is in beta testing right now, hopefully it comes out soon.
Shin_Rekkoha that's good and I should wait for weekends to play this game again.
Tip: instead of destroying the Defender, make it Weak and Tired ASAP so that its blades are less likely to kill and D. Lance can't summon another.
7:22 oh what...?!

7:28 Ohh look at these blood eyes of Matt
He died utterly bewildered that the Defender denied him his next turn!
Wow amazing gameplay lots of skills, I love that everything is done on epic mode and you even spent your own money for this so keep up the great work I really love your videos! :D
Nice save, Lance. Couldn't done it without you.
He's the hero we need, but not the one we deserve.
Great, when I got to the dark players, I tried Lance first. I got down half of his half before being annihilated by Unload. The worst part is, that he doesn't even lose any Attack from using it... I call shenanigans.

thats a real nostalgia...ahh
You should upload the Dark Boss Rush XD
Dark Lance kill the three with only 1 unload.
I need this mode
you know it would have been a good idea for these dark bosses to do the main characters idle animations
I like how dark lance doesn't seem to be a nazi
7:25 - OH NO YOU DON'T.
I thought lance had the bomb attacks like tank and he is really useful in this fight with proper resistances with him.
What theme song is this?
Under My Skin.
Uhhhhhh... Is it sad I got beat him first try?
how do you get these dark selves to fight on EBF 4? is it by chance on the expanse pack cause if so that just freakin sucks
+Xyaz27 Warner yup
damn it, looks badass

ahhh okay that makes sense... lol thanks :P
how did anna change into lance after death ? O_o can someone explain that to me pls ?
Lance(backup) I just saw it and then I saw your comment while watching this
Sorry is my english has some mistakes....I'm Malay
thank u ^^
I think if your whole team dies then one of them will be replaced with the backup automatically (if the backup is still alive that is).
Wait I Completed That Game Before How Come I Didn't Find That

wow i thought matt was harder :o
i like, completely buffed matt with the rare items :p

what are we talking about
my lance of the game is the only player as arived on level 50
7:22 ._.
Wait, when all your players die, the backup automatically fills in? Never knew.....
(Because it never happened)
Eric Wang Yeah it's your last line of defense. Golden Sun: The Lost Age treated reserve members the same way and had them fill in when your front line party is wiped. I fucking love Golden Sun TLA.
Cool
EchidnaKida
You, sir, deserve a giant serving of Anemos-style Ice Cream for that comment.
that's good
Wtf with this battle!?And there was no exp and many soul at there!?Why did that place ever created for!?
Magic HoodGuy this is battle mountain you can’t get xp from fights here.

site of this game is that?
Quoc Huy Trinh this is the steam version which is downloadable and costs money
It actually wasn't so hard as how he descripe (bad pronunciation)
i have finished the 3rd one about 3-5 times and i do not really like the fourth one. need the fith one fast
It's fine that you don't like it but don't hold your breath. If you follow Matt at all you'll know that he's working on Bullet Heaven 2 right now. thank you! i also loved bullet heaven and i am glad that he is making a second one
EchidnaKida
EBF5 was confirmed a few days ago. >.>
That has nothing to do with when it releases. Predict BH2 waaay sooner.
mostly dark
lance is more hardest boss he is more hardest of dark anna dark matt dark nattalie
Lol true
I died once fighting dark lance it sucked
I dunno, I whooped Dark Lance. The hardest for me was Matt.
thats funny I thought dark lance was the easiest of the four and dark matt was the hardest
