I was in Paphos last month. Its worth doing the promenade walk from the small Greek church into paphos Harbour. Around 5km walk but beautiful walking past the grounds of the hotels with the sea to ur side.
Also when on a plane u should still be able to use Google maps even without a network connection the GPS will pick up ur location however can take a minute of so. Enjoy and love the videos
Lee my first time abroad was to Cyprus as a rookie squaddie. Driving thru the countryside with trees bearing oranges was totally exotic gobsmacking for me as a Brit townie. Soooo looking fwd to this series.

Hi Lee.. We recommend Georges fish bar in Akrotiri. You can drive right up to RAF Akrotiri passing a salt lake with pink flamingo's on & a lovely restuarant as well. There also a pub!
We spent many times there when my son was based in RAF base.
Also Fanagusta which is famous back in the 60's for a desserted town due to conflict. Thats by nicosia!!!

first time id been on a plane for 12 years was last october to portugal, went with jet2 and they were so helpfull with everything from start to finish, 10 out of 10

there's a little garmin receiver that you connect to your phone that gives good gps reception called GLO2. People use em while sailing, i assume they work inside a plane. There's also very cheap no-brand copies on ebay under a tenner, dont know how well they work.

You asked for land marks, well you would have flown by the airport heading towards Petra tou Romiou ( Aphrodite’s Rock) then make a sweeping turn back to Paphos airport. I live in Pafos, and good to see you have come to our beautiful island for a holiday. Fabulous place to live and great for tourists wishing to escape the continuous cold, wind and rain in the UK. Enjoy our warmth and sun, not to mention the gorgeous sunsets we have😊.
Hi Lee, I really enjoyed watching your plane journey to Paphos, Cyprus. I've always booked with TUI for holidays as they're always reliable, always happy to help, nothing is too much trouble, and I've never had any problems or delays with them. I'm going on holiday to Benidorm in June this year, and the only thing that TUI has done that they've never done to me before is change my flight time. I don't see this as a problem, though as long as I get to Benidorm, I'm not bothered at what time I fly. I hope you have a great holiday. ✈️🎬🕶🏖🌴🍻

Looks like the Athena Beach Hotel to me. My late mum and stepdad were regular visitors to Cyprus especially Paphos and have stayed in many of those hotels. I remember driving along that road with my mum pointing out the hothey had stayed in or visited. My wife and I preferred Limassol

Flying with Tui early May to Malaga with the family for 10 nights. Have only flown with BA, EasyJet, Norwegian and RyanAir in the past so hopefully it will be ok.
Lee, what you saw was secondary power for the aircraft whilst the engines are not running. It supplies electric for lighting, fridges etc...

The 737 you flew on was an older variant (800 series) which is not the type that had a panel blow out, that was a 737 Max.

Hi Lee, i used to be an Aircraft Engineer in the Royal Air Force and the area where the Aircraft were parked up was called the Pan.
From take off for a good 15 minutes I could have been sat next to you, it was so calming, especially having a yorkshire tea. Enjoy watching your travels so much, please keep doing what you do

Lee, been formal cabin cree with another airline, Jet2 are good but I have found TUI inboard flight service more relaxed and easy going, better value and overall pleasant experience

Yes. It uses GPS. Download map online first.
I use Sygic maps when flying. Just download the countries or regions you're flying over, open Sygic maps and hold the phone at the window. You might have to zoom out when the signal locks on but you'll get position and even the speed you're travelling.
We always fly from Manchester so was a first time for us to fly from East Midlands in February with Jet2 and I must say the staff in the airport were superb, very polite and the whole experience to Fuerteventura was top notch, a lovely 5 night break in the sun..😎☀️ Great video keep up the good work..👍

Don’t forget Namaste Indian in Paphos if you fancy a curry. For local food try Hondros. Walk from from past bus station across roundabout up hill and on the left. Very reasonable and great steaks and other food
Hi Lee, have used TUI a few times and I like them a lot. Have flown mainly long haul , Mexico and Thailand for example.
You mentioned whilst in Australia that you might go to Canada in the future, if you do can I suggest using Air Transat . We flew from Gatwick to Toronto last year, what a great airline .
What the planes stand on is the apron and TUI is a Brent airline been to BENIDORM many times, and we have been on the dream liner 787 many times, always been polite and courteous and never been delayed all at all. Highly recommended. Have a good one. 👍👍👍👏👏🍺🍺

Flew tui for the first time last year to cyprus-never again- going out we had a 40yr old non tui plane and returning home was a 12 hr delay..😢
We love TUI and would never go with any other company, we even went on a cruise with them and it was amazing. My husband is disabled and they look after him so well

Back when i used to go regular, it was Monarch or Cypriot airways, Cypriot was the better, as you felt your Hol started right away, Keo beer, and local food served as the in flight meal, When there was such a thing on a 4 hour flight ! Enjoy the time spent there, Its changed a lot !!
If you want a decent fish and chips shop, I would recommend Dehkelia (between Larnaca and Agia Napa) it’s about an hour by car from Pafos. Hire a car, it’s usually cheap over there.
Last time we were in Paphos was for out honeymoon in 1995 , going back in a few months will be amazing to see how much its changed.
We have booked our first flight with Jet 2 from East Midlands for another trip so looking forward to trying there from LHR where we usually go with BA or Gatwick on EJ.

Jet 2 are currently in the process of replacing all their aircraft to airbus a321 neo’s, at the minute the neo’s only operate from Birmingham and Manchester but this will be changing as they get more delivered

Lee - navmii allows you to download maps and the GPS works a treat onbaord. Comes in very handy for Ryanair, jet2 etc as like you I want to know where I am 😀

i went to Pathos in the 90s with friends for Christmas/ new year 10 years in a row for 2 weeks 1/2 board in the same hotel for around £300 pp loved the place. i always remember the midnight swim Christmas day. we go to everyone by name and they remembered us even in the bars in town we used to take them presents like wigan rugby shirts and scarfs and we got the old security guard of the hotel a kabab on our way home from a night out about 3 am and he would give us a few drinks from behind the bar lol oh and there was a 2ft parrot named sammy roaming free in the hotel bar that would drink your short if you left it un guarded. prices was short £0.50 . pint £1. cocktail £2 . kebab £3 . meal out £5-10 depending on what you fancied

Loved you Australian tour Lee and thrilled you going to Cyprus. We were there in August, first time for 17 years , limassol is changing fast getting some amazing buildings put up . But one for you to review in paphos centre is an Indian restaurant called "JAYANTA" we ate here and it was superb. Have a great time .
