Having lived part of my life in Sth Africa, Afrikaans (in many ways a Dutch derivative) was my first language so its a major help in understanding Dutch but Paul H's translated episodes of a number of BZ seasons are a great resource for English speakers looking to dive further down the BZ rabbit hole. What is particularly valuable is that they include all the talk before and after the various performances where we get the backstory behind the song, why it is important to the person "in the chair" as well as why the performer chose the song.

Whilst 2019 is clearly the best known/famous Beste Zangers seasons; and justifiably so on artistic grounds; 2018 WAS another outstanding season as was 2017 (the first year that they introduced duets). Glen Faria was best known as a songwriter and rapper but this season of BZ showed him to also be a most accomplished "straight" singer. Davina was the first "RUclipsr" on BZ. The older man (the "honouree" for this episode) is Lee Towers. With regards to the repetoire for BZ; whilst artists may choose to cover songs the other artist wrote/recorded, each artist also submits a list of songs that they may not have sung/wrote/recorded but ARE important to them. The Living Years was a case in point for Lee Towers.
