Err...this whole review was a bit unhinged. Colin was pretending to be someone he was not, he was supposed to feel fake pretending to be a womanizer because that's not what he is. And no, i don't agree with you at all. Lame behavior? No, that's respectful, he just backed off, he was all on her face. Consent is beautiful. And as for brothels, his brothers were his examples ( whole montage start of season 2 with Anthony sleeping with a lot of women and going to brothels), Anthony himself told him that he should have taken Colin to more brothels. The marriage proposal was cute, he was simply being playing and teasing and it's a line DIRECT from the books...i swear it, i don't get this negative twist of your... I like Francesca but honestly, i skipped a lot of her scenes, didn't grab me. The only thing i agree is that we should have more Colin and Pen scenes, but what we did get was great. The chemistry was wonderful.

I agree that Colin asking for consent when touching Penelope's leg was fantastic. However, when he expressed how he felt for her, he dropped the ball in my clearly unpopular opinion. Colin didn't actually move away from her. He just asked for her forgiveness while still being in her face.
It's been well over 2 years since I've read the books, but I don't remember being as annoyed with that proposal as I was when watching episode 4. I don't have an issue with Colin and the brothels, but condoms were not a thing back then, but STDs were.
I'm glad you enjoyed part 1, though! Hopefully, you will get your fill of Colin and Penelope's love story in part 2. Thanks for your feedback!

The artwork makes me think of the Pride & Prejudice movie. The architecture from the Victorian/Edwardian era looks super fancy, but in a world without air conditioning I think I'd rather live on Antarctica. Haven't read the books, I think I may have heard of them before though.
When I was a kid, I think for age of sail era stories I was more into like Robinson Crusoe, Treasure Island, and a few by G.A. Henty like the one with William Wallace (In Freedom's Cause?) were fairly okayish IMO. I like the concept of seeing new lands, though it stinks a bit how everything has already been explored on this planet now anyways. -_- I mean, there's still the deep sea of the oceans and maybe cities there eventually I suppose.
I've always been more into science fiction though, like Star Trek, Space Above & Beyond, Roughnecks Starship Troopers Chronicles, etc. This show here sure sounds like it has plenty of dramatic interactions though. The more recent show The Expanse has both the space stuff I like and a fair bit of drama also.

I hadn't heard of The Expanse, but it seems really cool from the trailer!
Pride & Prejudice and Bridgerton are both 19th-century romances, so good eye.

Portia's behavior was insane! I'm crossing everything for an Edwina spinoff. If they think it will make money, I'm sure they will do it 🤞🏾🤞🏾.

I tried to watch the show some time ago and couldn’t get into it but, you review had me laughing. Lame proposal.

Since the books are all based around the Bridgerton siblings, I doubt we'll see any spinoffs

Right, they rushed past that extremely fast, but there was time for Portia to talk crazy over and over again!
