Haven't seen the new one yet, though of new movies I'm still only planning to hopefully get to watch Alien Romulus in theater (while otherwise I'll wait a few years to find most in DVD format on sale in due time.) But I saw the first film in the 90's and it was pretty good, and glad to hear the new version sounds good also. The original was interesting to me with how Bill Paxton played a more serious character, whereas he's mostly like Hudson in Aliens (though his role in Edge of Tomorrow was also more level then, I thought he was best as the character in Aliens.) The new actors for the new film I don't recognize yet, but seems like they've done well though.

I just found your channel and OMG! I agree with so many of your takes! Here are some of mine: 1. I believe everything Lestat says when he gets wistful or goes off-script at the trial. The dialogue Sam wrote for him is probably false, esp. in the beginning when the coven is trying to make Louis sound like a violent stalker. Lestat probably had to go along at first to make the coven think he was onboard so that he could get away with his asides as the testimony went along. 2. There seemed to be something going on with Lestat mentally. A couple of times he looked like he was nodding off in his chair, and he was swaying on his feet when Claudia was executed. 3. Shut up, Claudia! She is so unrelentingly hateful to Lestat, it amazes me. Here she is on trial for her life, and she has to get a couple more digs in, always trying to drive a wedge between Lestat and Louis. 4. Lestat’s apology to Louis was so beautiful! However, hasn’t he already apologized for this? I think that at this point, Louis and Claudia owe him an apology for poisoning him, slitting his throat, and leaving him out with the trash. 5. I think Lestat’s version of Claudia’s turning and the fight are true in as far as they add context to Louis’/Claudia’s versions. For example, during the fight, we didn’t see what went on in the coffin room, but we heard Lestat telling Louis that he didn’t want to fight like this and he was trying to restrain himself. There was also a giant dent in the lid of Louis’ coffin after that episode. 6. When Lestat gets back on script after his apology, there is a slide showing Santiago and his two girlfriends hanging off of the Eiffel Tower calling to Lestat to come to the trial

All three of them are toxic nutcases, they deserve each other, the good and the bad, hopefully in another 50 years they'll forgive Armand, and all three can live happily ever after, pissing off all the other vampires on earth instead of driving each other crazy, because lets face it, Louis shouldn't be left alone too long, Lestat is horribly lonely, and Armand will die of boredom without the other two, and hopefully Daniel will get to document it from a safe distance! 🤣

Armand and Danial are together in the books. Danial’s the only person that can challenge Armand intellectually. Can wait for season 3!

Do you remember in Season 1 Episode 6, Lestat was monologuing while on the piano 🎹 about hotsprings, Greece, and 'Those Who Must Be Kept' before quickly changing the subject. So Lestat was already in Greece, where he met the caretaker of Enkil and Akasha who goes by the name of Marius de Romanus a 2000 year old vampire who befriends Lestat. This is where Lestat with Akasha's permission feeds on her much to the chagrin of her consort Enkil who attacked Lestat but was rebuffed for doing so.

Lestat got Akasha's blood right before he came to New Orleans. Magnus, his maker, was an ancient vampire but several thousand years younger than Akasha - who was the first vampire. Louis & Claudia were much more powerful than any of them realized. It's why it took her so long to die by sunlight. Akasha's blood is the only reason why he was able to survive his "murder." Lestat was incredibly weakened from his murder, so, he didn't have the strength to go against the coven. And why he only had the strength to save one of them. You've got to remember that the show is based off of the entire Vampire chronicles - 13 books. So although it's true to the essence of all the books, it won't be true to each individual book because so many of the stories overlap in time and fill in missing gaps. Focus on the first 3 books - "Interview with the Vampire, The Vampire Lestat & The Queen of the Damned", then the book "The Vampire Armand". Also something to think about - Armand said he preserved Louis happiness. Daniel made Louis happy. Maybe his turning Daniel wasn't fully out of spite. Perhaps it was as apology gift to Louis. Perhaps it's because Armand finally found someone who could best him & hold his own against him. And by being his maker - he would always have someone he couldn't read and would therefore be a match for his own mind. Or perhaps Daniel wanted the gift. We'll see in season three perhaps.
