Great job. I also saw many faults at this printer right out of the box and didn't try to get it to work. The support from TEVOUP was outrageous and the same from Geekbuying. In the end I got my money back and after your video that's it with TEVOUP. Thank you!
Great video, enjoyed it very much and agreed with so much of what you said. Personally, I think the time of having to constantly tinker with 3D printers has long gone, or it should be. Like you said, they should just work with little to no intervention from the user, apart from selecting a file to print. The only reason I still don't have a 3D printer now is all about Automatic Bed Levelling, which makes me ask if it has ABL why the big knobs for adjusting the bed. All I see them big knobs as is, ah well, I guess it isn't so automatic. I've had two printers (Creality cr10's) with bltouch and I found it more work to get a good print going on them printers than the old Anet I first had. Maybe when someone releases a printer that has true automatic bed levelling at an affordable price instead of regurgitating the same copy and paste features as every other printer out there has, then that will be the time for me to buy in to another printer.
Another really bad nasty shift tonight. Come home, sit down with a cuppa to relax, I'm pissing myself laughing. I love these videos mate. I know these machines do your box in , but it's 100% bloody comedy gold. I know the video is not intended to be funny, but that printer has treated you exactly the way my customers have treated me tonight. Please do one more review of this POS, go on, just one, don't bin the hydra just yet. LMFAO
Hey, do you by any chance have a guide on how to flash the firmware of this printer (What firmare did you have on yours)? I can't get it to work with the infos on the website end tovoup support is non existing. My printer is stuck in engraving mode and the engraving is useless as you said...
This is just sad. I'm sad. I had some of the same problems that you had. And others that you didn't. But no help or response from TevoUp. The reason that I'm sad, is that this was/is my first 3d printer. And I AM that person that you talk about. I'm past the angry part, and just at the sad part. I've learned a lot about 3d printing. But what you said is SOOOO true.... I just want it to work. I don't care about all the things that I've had to learn about. I'm sure that it's good for me to know, but I don't want to keep sinking money into this. If you were to suggest the next step.... which tbh.... I've been really cold to the whole idea of 3d printing. The Hydra just sits in the corner of my little work space and finally started being useful to to be able to hang thing from the gantry. I don't like looking at it I don't like the failure that it represents.... I guess I'm ready to give printing another shot... sort of.... I'm not sure if I want to try resin or not this time. I'd like to I think, but I wanted to try filament. I did get one of those 3d pens to sort of work. better than this thing. 🤦♂🤷♂ any advice? do you have an old one I can try?
so I echo your frustration our hydra went to the garage dump awhile ago and I'm glad it did, as for next steps in 3d printing for you in FDM if you are looking low cost then any of the Elegoo Neptune range is a really strong place to start, as for starting in resin its a different game but Anycubic are doing some good deals, there is frustration in this hobby I'm not going to lie and say any of these machines are flawless but if you start with a good machine it is extremely rewarding
Love the HONEST feed back. Keep up the great work
