Secret War
Honestly I liked Secret War, the idea of Soviet soldiers fighting creatures come out of hell reminded me of the Metro series
That was my exact thought too. I'm now actually kinda upset that I won't get to play "The Secret War" the video game.
Its not a bad short. It's just that it's nothing that we haven't seen before. That story trope has been done to death for an almost hot decade now
It also reminds me of call of duty zombies except it about demons
You'd probably like the tabletop game Weird Wars. They have a module called "Hell freezes over" Where Soviet Soldiers and magic users fight against Nazi super-science and Occultism.
I think they could tie this secret war into Stranger Thihgs,m those creatures looked a lot like the mindflayers minions
I think Zima blue was not only the best short, but the best short that captured the themes of love, death and robots in a mature manner without taking the edgy route.
Wait, are you saying that media who explore the theme of conscientiousness in robot don't have to end with a robot holocaust .Where the robot get hunted by paranoid people who brutally try to kill them while saying to them how worthless they are compare to human ( Btw I don't know if you notice, but theirs a really SUBTLE parallel that you can find when you compare these scenes and events that happen in real life.Scary right? Make you think really really hard ) and when the robot is about to receive the final blow they scream "I AM ALIVE!!!" .Wich is a subtle way to tell the audience of this eye-opener of a scene, that, yes , they're indeed alive.
So ,you're going to tell me that they are other ways to explore this intricate concept without ending the story without these cliches. AND ALL THAT WITHOUT BEING OVERLY EDGY !? Get out of town.
yes you are right i watched it twice it was too deep, literally mindblowned
I think this is a stellar highlight of the show solely because this makes people talk about their interpretations about the episode. It is actually amazing considering how short this is.
@@funglio5807 So...what you're saying is they ripped off the Animatrix seires.
@@probablynotdad6553 Not really, I think is just people following a easy path to make something provocative and making their story seems more "deep".
Um Pan. Good Hunting dosen't take place in Japan. It's in Hong Kong China. The British even call him chinamen in a demeaning fasion.
@Snow what's the difference?
991yugioh “Chinamen” is demeaning?
@Snow The names and spirits are chinese and from chinese folklore.
@Snow dude, dial back on the saltiness "I will punt you to the sun" lol jfc you're freaking pathetic
-lord was just stating something, you didnt need to interpret it as a personal attack and call him a dumbass
You could sneak Secret War into an E3 demo reel and no one would question it
Still a great episode tho
If anything that shows that the production value and hype from the episode worked. It's my personal favourite because of the way the characters interact with each other and the environment.
Fun fact: the studio that worked on Secret War actually worked on cinematics and cutscenes for video games like the cutscenes for Cod WWII or The Witcher 3 cinematic.
Its what i thought before i knew of LD+R
That reveal on the cgi space craft is the most satisfying payoff nightmare fuel I've ever seen
Tell me what it is so I don't have to watch it :P
@@Rakanarshi2 Turns out the ship crash landed to Earth and the guy is in a coma and he actually had sex with a cat.
@@Swordflash4 haha, not sure if it's true but I dig the Red Dwarf reference. So this is now fact to me. Cheers mate.
@@Rakanarshi2 He just bullshit'd you so hard, I'm over here dying. xD For real though, it's worth watching yourself.
It was similar to the game Darkwood.
I can't be the only one that enjoyed every episode. The shit was awesome.
Same here. I was a little baffled by how little Pan got out of a lot of these; maybe I'm just a little more easy please than most tho, and I'm very much a visually engaged person- so I can literally just enjoy something for the sake of it's good visuals. Throw in some cool robo designs, violence, and quirkiness and I'm probably going to love it.
Dude, multiverse was shit.
Any artist I spoke too loved the series, not everything is meant to be deep and somethings are simply made for the spectacle, why do you think the marvel movies do so well? Part of it is to see what happens next but 90% of it is for the spectacle like thanos throwing an actual moon at iron man lmao. I can appreciate the Art and handwork that were put into these shorts so they have a bigger impact. Like you I enjoyed every last second of what I watched.
So I haven't seen the last five yet, which includes Zima Blue, I'm surprised at how little I have to complain about so far. Sure some of them I didn't particularly love (Lucky 13 and Shapeshifters weren't particularly great) but Three Robots, The Yogurt One, Beyond the Acquilla Rift and Soul Snatcher were all so cool.
And don't even get me started on how incredible Good Hunting was.
Yeah they were all great
Best suited for a show: Good Hunting
Best suited for a movie: Beyond the Acquila Rift
Best suited for a video game: Suits
I would absolutely love a Good Hunting show
Suits even looked like LoL
Suits was could have easily been a side story in Starcraft
@@Eidlones I was thinking of Starcraft throughout that entire short.
I don't think you could stretch Beyond the Aquila Rift any longer than what it was. Like, the story was pretty open and shut, and drawing out the twist would be kinda hard.
Tbh, I feel like the issue with adult animation is that people who make them just come from a comedic perspective more often and only interweve drama into them when you can just straight up apply any genre to the medium. Heavy Metal film was developed by the same people who did meatballs, caddyshack, stripes, and Ghostbusters.
The most adult animation I've ever seen was "Mushishi". That anime was pure original genius.
Private Account I wouldn’t argue that someone’s grammar or sentence structure is what validates their point on a RUclips comment. One, english may not even be his first language, he could be using google translate. Two, no one is stressing over being grammatically correct on a RUclips comment, no one should care that much. Three, you just come-off as a pretentious know-it-all that no one wants to listen to.
Family Guy basically fucked over any serious adult animation. Why try to be mature and thoughtful when you can be offensive and edgy, it'll make more money. Its sad, but true.
@Private Account Trying too hard to sound smart there, bud. Read the last paragraph you yourself wrote.

Agree with on the sex and blood being unnecessary a lot of the time. I think Shapeshifters did it really well as the gore fit with the brutal nature of the characters and their powers.
Even still, Three Robots had no sex nor gore and was probably my favourite.
Late comment but I mean the dude puts stuff on the internet to be there forever amirite?
Anyway, its a series of show in which sex exists. Sex is not the main plot of any of these. Sonnies edge for example-- Dicker presumably designed the girl to seduce or befriend Sonnie to kill her, as one would not expect beasties to look like humans, nor that a small woman would be dangerous.
In the witness, the main character is an exotic dancer and works at whatever you call her workplace. Because it is an existing place and a place that could even be imagined, it is a valid setting for the story to take place. RebelTaxi seems prudish and really doesn't care for depiction of sex in entertainment and would separate his sexual interests and entertainment.
Also slightly annoyed he said something about not seeing the womans vagina in the witness. He meant vulva. Vagina is the inside.
Small edit: He called it a vagina again when talking about Good Hunting.
The show is literally labeled Love, Death and Robots, what did u expect?
I agree on the Three Robots short!

To think, if cartoons here were as popular as anime is in Japan. There would be/been so many great shows we can not even imagine...
There'd also be a plethora of trash being put out every day. Anime is great and all but lets not pretend that the 5 millionth seasonal high school harem or magical girl show is anything to look forward to. Gotta take the good with the bad.
@@7-67-7 Theres so much trash already it wouldnt matter.
The only reason you think that is because animes that get popular in circles of American weeaboos are picked out of a massive ocean of complete garbage. A large majority of animes are just as bad as your typical bad western animation, just with a different artstyle.
actually anime is mostly seen as for kids in japan too since most of their anime are for children anyway. hell even cowboy bebop wasn't a huge hit there compared to its iconic status in america
Lol same with Hollywood so many bad movies and so many good movies
Spoilers to Zima Blue
If you think about it, the general plot of Zima Blue is the next step to that Rick and Morty joke of that butter robot. While the original story was published in 2006 and Rick and Morty first aired 2013, the two had a similar meaning. That robot's sole purpose in life is to paint the pool blue. Despite achieving self-awareness, becoming the best known artist in the universe, and learned basically everything, he could never remove that emptiness and obsession of that blue paint. So instead of making grander artworks for his final project, he simply returned back to a simple machine with a single meaningless purpose.
This deserves more likes.
Me and my friend were watching when it happened. My friend was all "That's it? That's the big reveal? Wtf does it even mean!?" Trying to figure out the meaning of the ending while I got a flashback to a cilp of a robot whose only purpose is to get butter and just started laughing my ass off when I connected the clip to the final art piece. You have to remember the laws of robotics because the whole point of the robot having evolved to have free will was only because of following a single purpose that kept changing the more the robot changed, and when it became human-like it tried to find its purpose unaware of what it was originally intended for being its actual meaning to have life in the first place. When humans are born they have a purpose that eventually becomes a goal based on what they want to do in life while the robot works in the same way with the exception that the pool was the only life that the robot has known when it was first created, and as a result of its evolution became attached to the color they had always seen, this is the reason why the robot had to travel across the Galaxy and why they only saw the color of that tone of blue: it was the hidden memory reminding them of their original purpose. This is the reason why the ending was sort of bittersweet in that the robot had finally found what their true goal was but at the same time disappointed the thousands of modern art connoisseurs that wasted their money to see the final art piece and thinking that it was massive waste of time for nothing not realizing the symbolic nature of the final piece in that it represented how someone truly feels when they lived a full life and have no regrets when told if they have anything left over that they wanted to do while lying down in bed beside the first toy that they grew up with
Yaaay! More overused nihilism!!
(Correction, he cleaned the pool and was obsessed with the shade of blue because that was the first thing he witnessed when he became conscious.)
It is an interesting take on A.I. becoming aware because usually that leads them to wanting to become their own masters and kill off humanity. While in Zima Blue you have A.I. who longs for the days where it was just a simple machine that served only purpose and one purpose only and actually returns to it. It actually brings up an interesting point in what is consciousness because Zima was a conscious and intelligent being but essential returned to a sub primal form. Was the Zima we knew always inside the pool cleaning robot this whole time?
And in recognizing that his existence has no purpose and the universe could never give it to him he decided to perform a single useless task forever, enjoying every momento of said task... Zima became Albert Camus' SISIPHEAN HERO... (insert overused mindblow meme)
But seriously, I feel like an idiot for not making the connection earlier. Guess this is my favorite short now.

Yea I like pan but when sex or anything sexual is involved he has some weird views on it. I mean he is asexual I respect it just don't agree with it alot.
It was all in his head so it doesn't count. The alien most likely just increased the endorphins in his brain to make him think he was having sex. Like a wet dream on steroids.

The Witness is my personal favorite. The animation was just well exacuted, and you can feel the terror that the girl feels while running through the city from her stalker.
I started learning how to animate after I saw "The Witness." It inspired me so much, I didn't know anything could capture feelings like that.
The Witness recently won an Emmy. Seriously, look it up. I’m not kidding.
Wow, really? That was definitely my least favorite.
I mean it is a striking short
Lol yogurt short before Sonnie's edge? aww man we are definitely different people.
Spoilers to Good Hunting:
I feel Good Hunting has immense potential to be a series. The short felt like an origin story of a gritty superhero. While "gritty" many not be the best description, it would be interesting the short is treated like Daredevil or the Punisher especially with Yan going through an identity crises. Would she consider herself to be a spirit, human, or a machine? How would the British forces react to the sudden murders of British officials? It also would be interesting if Yan encountered other spirits that were unfazed by industrialization, and they saw her as an abomination for giving up her natural body for an artificial one.
Since Yan is a machine, the writers have the liberty of showing the Boxer Rebellion, warlord period, WWII, communist uprising, and Cultural Revolution without aging her. They can also transition steampunk to diesalpunk and to cyberpunk with the main character and his descendants updating her body.
Although these ideas can be too ambitious and the makers of the short may had never thought of expanding the narrative beyond that ending let alone making an alternate Chinese timeline. They might also prefer to make a Netfix film instead of a series at it is easier to budget and pace a 1 hr 30 min to 2 hr movie than 8-10 30 min episodes. Either way, I do hope we could see more of these shorts in the near future.
Also Pan, the short takes place in Hong Kong (in China) and they faced colonial rule under the British which the Japanese never had. The Main characters also sports a Manchu hairstyle, long pony tail and a blank forehead, which the Japanese during the feudal period never had. Also saying the Nine-tail foxes are Japanese is like saying vampires are Romanian. These mythical creatures tend to expand beyond their origin and influence neighboring cultures.

Eh, I kinda liked the secret war. I mean, it was nothing spectacular but at the same time I wouldn't call it a waste of time. The CGI is obviously unrealistic but theres just something about it's "style" I like. It's not realistic but at least it looks kinda cool. Then again I haven't seen a lot of CGI films so I don't know what the bar for them is. But, yeah. I thought it was ok. Though, I do kinda have a bias in that opinion because the idea of Soviet Soldiers fighting Hell spawns just sounds fun to me.

What Secret War had over the other CGI films was a more cinematic style for lack of a better term. The cinematography was moody, the music worked well, as did the editing and sound design. It was pretty competently made. The story was nothing special but the script was technically sound. It had a beginning, middle and end.
Despite most of the shorts just being boring and edgy I really hope Love Death + Robots gets a season 2. There were a handful of shorts with a lot of potential

Man I have to disagree with this video. The technology we see here is next level, when it comes to the level of detail we see in every aspect makes it even better to know where we are goin in terms of technology and capabilities of animators, sure they could’ve been live action but knowing they’re not, makes it all the more unique, impressive and special. On top of that, many of the episodes are short but sweet, and each one has a deeper meaning. Shapeshifters, who’s the real monsters in war? Those invading, our side? Their side? Or the soldiers?
Aquila Rift, Amazing animation, but what’s real?
Zima Blue, simple pleasures is sometimes all we need, we don’t need the riches to feel complete, that could be our fate, simple living.
Ice Age, where are we headed in terms of civilizations?
Lucky 13, making you connect with a robot we’ve know for less than 20 minutes.
Secret War, realism peaked, but also epic
Alternate history, something many people think of and how little things can change, with many jokes and overall just funny.
But this series respects where it comes from, and came together for amazing animations, great story telling, along with animation styles we hardly ever see. This series is very special and I can’t wait to see where it goes and the popularity it deserves
Yeah I 100% agree, I’m honestly surprised how much criticism this show gets. Not only does it have some of the highest highs I’ve ever seen, but the worst episodes are still pretty enjoyable and don’t overstay their welcome. This is by far one of the most fun and interesting shows I’ve seen on Netflix and I adore the showcase of different animation and storytelling styles it presents, I hope we get many more seasons.

True!!!
I think some of these work best as just short films. The Witness, Beyond the Aquila Rift, The Dump, Helping Hand, Fish Night, Zima Blue, Ice Age and the yogurt one all works best as singular short films. I feel they all told the story as brief and the best they could, they don't need to expand.
I wouldn't call most of these in the anthology "wasted potential" because they're just sorta like the ideas you get in the shower thinking it'll be a cool story, but you can't expand much on it, so it only works best as a short story. I feel that's what most of these were - cool concepts, but too short to make a full series/movie out of without ruining the integrity of the story.
I think the "wasted potential" part and the way he ranked then just sort of related to the style of animation they had. Like, this was advertised as an animated anthology, do you figured this would be a good place to go with a more stylized and abstract animation look. Not to say it bothered me much (lucky 13 was prob my favorite), and I think all the stories are pretty good with none being explicitly terrible. I really hope this gets a season 2 and draws more attention to animation as a medium.
Easy Pete Why the fuck wouldn’t you give me your dynamite!? That really could’ve helped against the Powder Gangers!
Some i felt best worked as short stories just on paper. Ice age was cool but i just said, ok what next, do they try and communicate or why do people think they are people staring at them. It felt to brief and they did not really do anything with the stories. My favorite short stories at least had some point, even an abstract one at that.
i need need NEED Three Robots to be an actual show holy shit. definitely my favorite out the comedy ones for sure.
Good idea for a series or movie
1. Shapeshifters (werewolves in the army)
2. Good Hunting (cyborg yokai)
3. Three Robots (futuristic comedy)
4. Beyond the Aquila Rift
5. Secret War
Good idea for games
1. Suits (it would be bigger than Fortnite)
2. Sonnie's Edge (Pokemon with extra steps)
3. Blindspot (cyborg GTA)
I think there's an anime with Good Hunting's premise. Maybe IDK. I just assume it must have been done already.

Even though this show has its flaws I can’t express how glad I am to see Netflix fund something like this. Ya, I feel like other streaming services in general miss this point. Being crude for the sake of crude, it empty. Man, watching the new Twilight Zone last night and they drop the F bomb like 10-20 times in a 1hr segment. There is definitely something offputting about dialogue that requires that much vulgarity for their narrative to the point the word loses all meaning.
Producers have to remember that "adult" doesn't mean nudity and cussing, it means Mature content that can be enjoyed by people who want to sit back and enjoy a narrative that will make them think in the end. Their thought provoking narrative will have more influence if they cut out the fat of vulgarity and sexual situations and focus on the characters unless said vulgarity/sex/nudity is there for plot sake, not just so they can show nudity.
Almost all the shorts could be Saturday morning shows without the cursing.
I'm here from the future to tell you that, no, they didn't learn anything from Zima Blue.
Zima blue legit made me cry at the end due to how beautiful it was
I really love the way you do your adds it is such a instructing thing for RUclips and it makes me happy that in the middle of your video you’re not interrupted
Everyone's list is so different from each other.
"I do not want to be spoon fed." Proceeds to basically spend entire video complaining about not being spoon fed.
I really liked the twist of Sonny's Edge, but other than that I agree with your sentiment on that short.
Helping Hand felt like a shorter, space version of "127 Hours"
I love how the argument "because I've seen it too much time" come up quite often while never being a good argument itself
Heavy Metal is a great movie, and has the best soundtrack of all time.
The editing in this is fucking phenomenal. You've hit hollywood level being artistic and engaging with your cuts. I want more
I loved that short with the robots exploring earth and it’s the only one I’ve seen yet. I don’t feel like watching the rest of the shorts because NSWF stuff makes me uncomfortable and I don’t like to watch sex scenes and those sorts of things... idk.. but from what I’ve seen the animation is so epic on all of those shorts!
Only 3 of them featured any actual sexual activity or sexual material.
Sonny's Edge, The Witness, and Aquila Rift.
You'd be fine with the rest of them.
Loved the whole show. It's interesting and different to what we have right now for shorts and randomness, you never really know or expect anything that happens. Artistically it's pretty amazing.
The use of swiper throughout was gold
I think it's fascinating that a series like this is possible now. This wouldn't have worked on normal television.
Didn't love every episode, but man i'm glad I saw it
My personal top 3 were:
1.Three Robots
2. The Witness
3. Sonnie's Edge
I like the witness and sonnies edge because of their art styles and aesthetic and three robots was the most fun to watch.
I really liked the witness, good hunting, zima blue, suits and 3 robots, all 5 had an interesting story, cool art style and where the only ones I felt really stood out
Im not going to lie, I think you are a getting a little more cynical with every vid.
But it kind of makes sense considering we do need to cultivate an environment where thoughtfulness and emotional range should be pursued. We need more of the Love in Love Death+Robots
@@reachfanatic1234 with cynicism you have to have love too, other wise you're just beating up on things you kinda like
Jessica I agree but I don’t think RadioTaxi sees the things he loves as above criticism and I think that’s a great thing because like in a relationship if you’re close enough you can handily call your partner out on their bullshit because you know and love them enough. I think the same thing is happening here where he just loves the art form enough that he can call out the absurdity of just shoveling gore and violence over actual substance just like that one reference to the Robot Chicken episode with the obelisk
Joseph Camacho there’s a difference between criticism with what you like and antagonism for the sake of being devil’s advocate. His tone is really nasty and backhanded during the intro and the first half of the entries.
Jacob Applehoof
Yeah it was little more negative than I expected from taxi
I’d honestly love to see 3 Robots as it’s own series. I think it definitely has potential, maybe have each episode involve the robots go on adventures in this apocalyptic land.
Suits just feels like an extended mobile game ad. Other than that it's good.
Personally, sonnie's edge was my favorite episode. I could have watched a whole show based on just the one episode
The show disappointed me because I was waiting for a "That 70's Show" reference during the Ice Age short.
Drake's Cove When he opened the fridge I thought we’d see Peter Parker saying *“You’re trash, Brock…”*
@@garyking1986 Or that too! Anything would have been good.
Well now you've done it. Now you HAVE to talk about Rock and Rule.
Lost all seriousness once i saw yoghurt ranking higher than sonnie's edge or secret war lol
The yogert was amusing, Sonnies edge was a bunch of edgy stuff. I dunno
@@RebelTaxi exactly
@the_Insanity _Girl01 I almost fell asleep during it, that says something. Didn't even chuckle tbh, the animation also looks like my homework in Adobe Illustrator. That episode takes like 2 weeks to do, it's the easiest after Hitler. Not to mention it looks like some Xbox avatar or commercial characters lol
@@RebelTaxi Thing is why i think that Sonnie's animation is way better, the combination of colors and the fight has you on edge the whole time. On second viewing you notice that instead of activating anything they actually cut the link between Sonnie and Kharnivore, the afinity link on Sonnie goes offline(red) and she does not move throughout the entire fight ( because obviously she isn't in there), which is a cool small detail you wouldn't notice on first watch. A detail which you don't find in the yoghurt short. Haven't seen yet a ring fight between 2 giant monsters with 2 people controlling them, really can't name anything with that concept. And that amazing creature deisgn, i haven't seen such unique design. The fighting was also really unique.
Yoghurt however...saw that concept of "taking over the government" too much to like it anymore. The only difference to others is that it's yoghurt instead a human, which isn't really blowing me away. If it was a human instead i doubt that barely anyone would have liked it. And that's the problem, the only thing that makes this short different to other done concepts is it's food lmao
@@RebelTaxi Sonnie Edge is obviously fan service to Pokemon/Digimon fans, most of the shorts are games reference that flew 100 feet above your head.
You made me rewatch Zima Blue, and well... this is still the best piece of art I've ever witnessed. It gets me everytime, I frickin love this short ! I have my interest and didn't wayched all of the episodes of LD&R but this one is truely the one that speaked to me the most, all of the other I watched seemed... gruesome and gory for the sake of edgyness or just shock value... meh.
I'm kinda interested by the Witness one, because I love this aestethic as much as Pan loves goth, but that's all. I'm sure there is a public for this type of content, I'm just not a part of it. But we need more of these ! Experimental stuff like that is just too important to creation in general, we can't let die this genre just because it doesn't profit enough (or if it dies, someone will eventually bring it back, like LD&R is a brought back Heavy Metal. But we should get rid of capitalism before)
My grandpa show'd me heavy metal so your right
Cool I showed my grandma ninja scroll
I always judge a video based on its length and how long it feels to watch. With a lot of creators im constantly looking when the video will be over but I enjoy your content so much it's over in the blink of an eye. So thank you for always throwing the best you can do out there. We all appreciate it man
The witness was like a drug trip. I've said this before and I'll say it again
Yeah the amount of adult language and nudity felt over the top, especially in ones like the soul sucker. However most of these shorts were really good and very few of them left a bad taste in my mouth when they were over
Oh, you have no idea how many animation geeks LOVED Suits.
I fucking love RebelTaxi, and its such a fucking shame, that he doesn't get as many views and subscribers.
Loved these shorts. We need more animation like this. Zima Blue was the best💙
Love, Death + Robots had a lot of neat concepts.
Having fantasy creatures in the military is a neat concept.
Going from magic-filled ancient China to a robot-filled steampunk future is a neat concept.
Real-life Pokemon battles are a neat concept.
Also Alternate History should be a full series, Blindspot should be a full series, and Suits should be a video game.
The Witness didn't visually impress you??? I call Bull on that.
He said it was a good style and loved into the Spiderverse
I did not expect a mega64 joke in this.
TBH didn't know this existed until Jamie Hewlett posted about it on his Instagram.
I honestly disliked fish night the most, all it does it flash pretty colors in your face and while it's visuals were great the way it ended in such a abrupt? manner, poetic or not just left me feeling so unsatisfied and disappointed with the lack of closure consequences for the old man, I hate how bitter it made me because I was genuinely impressed and immersed with what it presented
Zima Blue 🟦🟦🟦🙌🏻 and Good Hunting
Man, it allways amazes me how people can have so diffrent ideas on the same shows. I absolutely disagree with your ranking and your reasoning behind it but oh well. To each its own
I did say I liked watching people on Twitter argue which is the best or worst
The 2 that really stood out to me was the farming power suits one and the first one
I actually want to see a live action movie where all the humans are CG-animated in a photorealistic art style to parody the overuse of CGI on every blockbuster.
Zima Blue was the only short REALLY worth watching/telling in my opinion. There's actually substance under the surface, with themes of technology addiction, humanity's hellbent drive towards self improvement, and the trappings of fame and popularity. Quality stuff.
I loved Blindspots designs, whatever studio who did it should totally do a Megaman show/movie
Animation Superior : Live Action *INFERIOR*
If you're wondering, the character designer for Sonnies edge was the same as Dishonored, that being Cedric Peyravernay, and I'd like to note that the characters in Shapeshifters look like action figures, and given how it's apparently supposed to be campy, I'd say based on what everyone says about it, I'd say it succeeds.
GOOD HUNTING it deserves to be it's own series
There was a season 2. They learnt NOTHING.
Season 3 is pretty good
I honestly thought number 2 was going to be set in our world during the Industrial Era instead of a fantasy world since China was against industrialization in the first place.
well it was hong kong back when britain 99 years to do whatever they pleased with the island they leased from china
Me too. They had a fairly magical realist sort of thing going for it until the robots showed. Still liked it though.
“If there’s a season 2, I hope the learn something from this short”
*Season 2 arrives*
I don’t think it learned anything. Honestly I think it forgot things between the almost 2 year gap between seasons.
I liked season 2 more overall since there was definitely more consistent quality then again the whole series felt like a collection of really well made student films and that’s how I viewed the whole thing
@@doctoradventure413
With 90% of the shorts being 3D animated, the consistency helped with the viewing, as the sudden change is style didn’t completely distract but I found myself enjoying Season 1 a bit more cause of the variety.
You forgot to review episode 19: "What What in the Robot"
That one should have it's own season on Netflix.
The creativity was fun and dark also just good to see these different styles in play and not the disney kid friendly junk
Sonnie's Edge reminded me of the robot fights in Spy Kids 3.
YES! I'm not crazy for putting Zima Blue as my #1. You pretty much got my top three as well!
10/10 hot damn I loved this review, im definitely gonna check these out.
Finally someone else that appreciated Zima Blue.. It's truly fantastic.
