  • Police Online Assessment Process: (Stage 3a) WRITTEN EXERCISE Questions & Answers by Richard McMunn: www.how2become.com/blog/new-p...
    #policeonlineassessmentprocess #policewrittenexercise #policeofficer
    In this police recruitment training video, Richard McMunn teaches what is involved during stage 3 of the new college of policing online assessment centre to become a Police Officer and Police Constable including:
    1. An overview of the Police Written Exercise, the new online assessment process, and what is involved;
    2. Example Police Written test questions;
    3. TIPS on how to ANSWER the Police Written Exercise questions;
    4. Further FREE Police Online Assessment resources to help you.
    WHAT IS THE POLICE OFFICER WRITTEN EXERCISE?
    During the police online assessment stage 3 you will undertake the role of a PC (police constable), where you are required to complete an urgent written task for your direct manager.
    This task is likely to focus on an issue in the community.
    You will be provided four sets of information (such as, potentially, a letter or email from a member of the public) that you can use to help form your written report.
    You are required to type the written exercise on your device in your web browser.
    HOW LONG IS THE WRITTEN EXERCISE (STAGE 3A) OF THE POLICE OFFICER ONLINE ASSESSMENT?
    The total test time will last approximately 40 minutes.
    HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED ON THE POLICE OFFICER WRITTEN EXERCISE?
    Candidates will be assessed against the following competencies and values during the written exercise: “Impartiality”, “Analyse critically”, “Deliver, support, & inspire”, “Collaborative”, and “Taking ownership”.

      I can personally say that the information provided in these tutorials is brilliant in securing a successful pass in this part of the application process. I attended a day one assessment shortly before lockdown last year. I was lucky to be able to attend a day one class with one of your well known tutors and the guidance he gives is very good and helpful. I secured a pass at the day one assessment centre.

I have constructed my answer based on the incident taking place 2 days after the mothers complaint letter, however your response is based on the incident being the one the mother is talking about in her complaint.
    As we are being marked on analysing critically I have gone with the exact dates specified, and answered assuming the incident was at least the second time her son has been stopped and searched. can you please advise.

And lastly, she mentions the stop and search of her son in her letter, which according to the PC who conducted it didn't take place until the 12th?

    Here is my response, i tried writing it before watching the example answer was gone through above in the video
    Dear Mrs Shirley Smith,
    I am very sorry that you are unhappy and feel intimidated by the amount of police officers present in the local area, and the way you feel your son has been treated.
    As you were aware by your letter we sent out news letters telling you about operation beefeater which is to reduce the amount of physical violence within North Fickshire. In your letter you said you were upest by the fact you were unable to give feedback about your views towards this, we did in fact hold a council meeting in which every shop owner was invited to on the 4th may. This was a really positive meeting as it gave shop owners a chance to give their views and ideas to implement to help with operation beefeater. Since receiving feedback from this nearly all feedback was positive, and they were happy their ideas had actually been implemented.
    The point you made about feeling intimidated and like the area was a warzone, which has reduced customers to your shop I will have to disagree. This is because customers and shop owners reviews have nearly all been positive saying that they feel more secure and how business is booming. These comments have also been made around the area by your store where shop owners have had there sales increase massively. Also linking back to your point saying that you feel intimidated by how many police officers are walking around in uniform the hole time. The idea beihind operation beefeater is to reduce physical violence within the area, so we felt having more officers walking around would be seen as a deterrent for offenders and something safe for innocent members of the public, so I am very sorry you have felt this way.
    The statistics that i can tell you that have been a clear example that operation beefeater is working is that in January the overall number of crimes was 76 and 40 % of that was physical violence. Then in Feburary the overall number of crimes had in creased to 136 and by the time we had reached April the overall number of crimes were 311 where 60% of that was physical violence and another 10% was Aggrivated assult. Since starting this operation our statistics are dwon to 102 crimes overall with only 20% of them being physical violence. This shows a clear decrease in the numbers since we started and also the lowest percentage of physical violence within the year. This means if we keep at it and then hopefully this will decrease more making North Fickshire have even less physical violent crimes.
    In relation to your son, Ben Smith, you said that you believed that it was an unprovoked, forced and humaliting stop and search which has left him tramatised. I am sorry that you have felt this way due to this, but unfortunately i do not believe that you understand what happened on the day. Looking at the report from this incident which happened on the 12th May, your son and another boy was on the floor punching each other, which was leaving one bleeding heavily. As my colleges got the two boys apart from each other, your son Mr Smith began swearing, unfortunately this isnt the first time that we have encourntaed with your son. The way he was acting and because they were causing physical violence to one another which is part of operation beefeater, we felt it warrant to do a stop and search. At this point Mr Smith refused to do so completely until there were threats to be arrested to which point he complied and nothing was found.
    I hope that this has given you a understanding now of what is happening in the local area of North Fickshire, feel free to write back to me with any questions if there is anything else you are concerned about.
    Many Thanks,
    PC Briggs

However in my workshop I was told a few different pieces of information to what you have said, so will the rest of this video still be helpful, or have they changed the assessment since? • @CareerVidz
      @CareerVidz  2 года назад +1

      Yes, you are right on those things, but look at it this way. If you and another candidate scored the same, but the other candidate's spelling and grammar was better than yours, who do you think they are more likely to choose to fill the position? This is why it does indeed matter, even if it doesn't form part of their scoring criteria. I hope that helps! 😊

      Detective is more involved in solving complex and serious crime, whereas a police constable is more day-to-day duties. Detective is more focused on several cases whereas police is more genarlised. I would personally go for detective. More info here:

    I just done my written assessment , i done the writing , my time ran out before I press submit. Have I failed this assessment ?

      If you weren't able to submit the assessment in time, then you may well have failed unfortunately. Were you able to submit it at all, even after the time? You should get a response via email shortly that will inform you.

      @@PS-rk5iv Thank you! And when they say for the competency based interview it marks you on integrity, public service and transparency for values , then taking ownership and innovative + open minded for competencies are they correct?? I got this info from another vid btw :)

    Think I've failed this section. Came across this video too late. I was to the point and stuck to the facts but what I wrote was very short in length.
