It’s not quite pre apocalypse, but there is a game that details Daryl’s time at the very beginning of the outbreak. Where he was when it started, when he first saw walkers. And how he found his brother and traveled to Atlanta. It’s called “TWD: Survival instinct”. Its and alright game, if you liked “Dead island” it’d but up your alley.

I think you're spot on that TWD writes all the kids to be insufferable. Frankly, I'm disappointed we haven't seen any baby and toddler zombies, those are always good for either comedic relief or ghastly creeptastic horror. Laurant is just as annoying as all the kids on World Beyond, and just as believable, but I can overlook it - for now - because the rest of the show is so awesome. One thing I'll never understand is why they haven't been wearing chainmail from the beginning. It's not that heavy, it's bite-proof, it's flexible, why weren't they turning out chainmail at Hilltop or Alexandria or the Savior's complex? Love seeing them use the medieval weapons and how castles hold up against Zs.
I love this show, I hope it gets grittier and darker, I want sinister villains and the most horrifying of walkers. I hope Daryl goes farther into Europe, maybe Africa, or into Russia.

Dead city has always had a darker grittier vibe to it.. that's why I like dead city more tbh but the last 2 episodes of Daryl Dixon are really good

I was very excited to hear George talk about Laurent I knew it would be hilarious LOL I think the show has been fantastic. I can't wait for the rest of the season the playout and I really hope they officially confirm the CRM especially with the Rick Series right around the corner
I feel this is more about the nun and the kid, it feels like Daryl is just along for the ride. Not to mention, wtf is up with all the 1800's weapons, it's like they told a blind American who knows nothing about France or Europe, "Give our survivors French weapons since they are in France." So he went to colonial times and this is the best the French can use. I'm sure there are those who live in France and the rest of Europe who have AK-47's, AR-15's, some Glocks, and more modern style armaments.

Laurent is the product of his upbringing. He’s basically Harry Potter if he’d been raised by wizards. Of course he’s obnoxious. And yes, I think Isabel has plans of her own and I’m excited to find out what they are. I’m really liking the actress and the whole show so far.

I hope eventually they explain how the French lady turned into a more aggressive walker. So far they’re trying to portray the variants like a creation… Better explain there selves lol. I don't see a problem with Laurent personally, I think alot of people just usually don't like seeing kids in TWD (me included) as they can be annoying at times..
I agree. Yeah he could be a little annoying but he was raised by a group of nuns that have babied him his whole life. Not to mention the whole Messiah and premonition stuff. Of course he's going to be a weird little kid LOL

My theory is that Isabelle is conning Daryl. She wants to trade him to these people in Le Havre. Perhaps she heard Daryl mumble "You deserve a happy ending too" and told Laurent to say that to Daryl. Maybe she drew that picture of Daryl herself. I think that was the point in showing her being a pickpocket in the past. I'm sure I'm way off, either way I'm excited for the fast zombies and some big reveals. It kinda feels like the early walking dead days again. 😅

There are numerous ways that this spinoff could contribute to a bigger story. It might sound stupid but this comes off the top of my very tired brain: what if walkers are (or where meant to be) a new type of warfare between nations. Only made capable by the state of their technology? The 'bigger players' (UK, USA, Germany, Italy... sorry I can't seem to take France seriously - I'm a Brit) were capable, and just like an army of Big Dog robots soon to inevitably come: the poorer nations of the world are destined to lose. All that remains is to engineer a series of deadlier and faster variants to pick off the original walkers. A kate stage human interfaced chip (lookin at you Mr Musk) spat by flying drone into these variants brains leave them to sever their spinal columns and die. The surviving nations rise to ground level after this command and reclaim their now mostly empty countries.
Unfortunately, just like everything else humans do well (effing things up) - we suffer at the hands of our own greed and negligence, etc etc etc... hey I'm just chatting pony here.
In the meantime - lets see AMC continue to ignore great ideas like the one you just read and make more and more filler. Otherwise, yeah I'm good with D.D thus far.

I like that Daryl is using a Liverpool assassin.
Laurent is possibly even more annoying than Beth was. When the nun started singing and he whipped his guitar out it was a massive low point in an otherwise outstanding first episode.
But overall, this show has exceeded my expectations. The settings are amazing, the scenes in Paris were superb and I could watch Isabelle all day long - I'm sure she's going to have a few tricks up her sleeve!

I would also watch a whole show of just the beginning of the outbreak. That would be great. I also like the new variant walkers. Daryl has always been low key good with kids so I’m not really surprised the direction they went with the kids. But yah they could make the boy more tolerable.😂 And the story line.. hopefully it doesn’t mirror TLOU the whole way through. I hope they all think he’s the savior and he ends up a regular kid. 🤷🏻♀️
here's a crazy idea, what if the boy is immune and has in his blood the cure for the walker plague? if this turns out to be true it would be game changing...he was born from the corpse of his mother, from death comes life and to not have any meaning would be a missed opportunity to tell an awesome story

the thing is that with Eugene his claims were based in scientific theory, but with this show they're believing that god will let a child pray away the virus, i really wish they wouldn't put religion in shows, it ruins it. I really hope they don't try to make Daryl a "God Believer" because that would ruin Daryl's character.
Also when Greg Nicatero saw the Last of Us he swore when he saw it was so similar to the script for DD but because they were already in pre production they couldn't change it.

I have been confused over The Walking Dead show for awhile since they started Fear The Walking Dead and some characters merging and now different main characters having spin-offs. Where the characters are at now and how they got there it's all become confusing for me so I stopped watching any of it mainly from the moment you see Rick carried away in a helicopter. All the years prior I was an advid fan and watcher
At some point, there would be people who develop an immunity.

Gotta admit not feeling this show. First episode was good but the surrounding Daryl with children and nuns doing side quest to get a boat with Everyone using powdered guns and dressing like they are in the 1800 makes Daryl feel like a fish out of water. It feels like a completely different show featuring Daryl. I wish they made it be more survival based and a constant sense of dread with new walkers about and Daryl not knowing who to trust. Pretty much how dead city was is a element where Daryl would fit best with his character. I’m not trying to down the show but I find myself on my phone most of the time when watching.

New zonbies? Well, something had to be done or the show would be done. Even with the new guys there is still a lot of rinse and repeat. As all parts and spin-offs of TWD stand, for me at least, If I catch an episode, great. And if I don't, it's an oh well. The networks cured me long ago by canceling a good show without warning or a proper ending. It is not worth investing my time or interest past a certain bit. I haven't seen the last episode of TWD proper yet. And I manage a good nights sleep. Another cure was Lost. What a worthless time sink.

Actually the show is going way too slow getting into the storyline 😢. It's not all that interesting yet. The only thing I like is watching Daryl and seeing his integrity with people in need.😀

😂😂😂 I watched the first episode of dead city free on RUclips. Didn’t risk damaging my device. The first episode wasn’t good enough to make me return to the series even though I like Maggie. I watch walking dead season 1-4 when the show was quality and watch those seasons again and again. The series became over saturated. Fans ironically made the series worse by encouraging the show runners to keep making them in quick succession. It’s the issue the assassins creed games had before the break. You can have too much of a good thing. Fear the walking dead would of been good if was only one season and stayed focussed on the outbreak, world beyond should never of been made, dead city shouldn’t of been made and neither should the spin offs they have planned. It’s adding too much salt to the soup. The main show should of ended at season 5 with Rick arriving at Alexandria at the end which is even now Kirkman even intended for the the graphic novel/comics to end. We already had the webisodes like the red machete and they could of just released tales of the walking dead as the stand alone stories in that universe as a way of soft rebooting the series many years after the main show ended. A anthology like 400 days was in the telltale walking dead game series. That’s how you go out on a high. The main show outstayed it’s welcome taking out key characters like Carl and Rick🤷….to tell different stories. They could have achieved the same thing by doing what I had suggested. Again🤷. Game of thrones ended so poorly I lost interest in the whole franchise. Stopped caring about George R. R. Martin writer’s block and the unfinished books, didn’t care about the prequel tv series. What they are doing in walking dead is nothing that we haven’t seen already, years ago in Z nation. The irony is that Z nation piggy backed of the walking dead’s success and had no identity, borrowing stealing from here and everywhere and now walking dead is taking inspiration from the show that took inspiration from vintage walking dead and tried to carve out its own lane from there. When you end up going full circle it’s time to let it go. There’s simply no more story to tell.
