Phenomenal. A truly breath taking rendition of an exceptional song, transforming an already enjoyable song into possibly the best song ever performed live. Well done all you Levellers, you certainly earned your 'wacky-backy' money that night and no mistake. In all seriousness though, that was a fantastic live performance, it's no wonder The Levellers are always rated so highly for their Live Shows.
I never get tired of Levellers! Even if I heard the song hundreds of times, when I listen on it and it comes to the end, I say to myself "One more time...!
What a crackin vid! This one never fails to get the pre-gig adrenaline pumping, foot stomping, heart pounding and the hairs on the back of my neck on end!!! Levellers are amazing live, consistantly just awsome, sooo much energy in their shows....and it just keeps coming and coming and coming !! :) must go get tickets for their next gig...Beautiful Days is a must-do this year! Cheers for the vid mate, gonna repeat play it again now! :)
I've watched this vid sooo many times now....in my head, I'm soo there.....all the way through the palpitations and near-orgasmic finale! Lev's ARE the best band ever live.....and if you havent yet been, do! :) Just Awesome!! x
How many dreads got cut off to be workers and father's...and how many remained to be .....here we all are still saying yeah yeah it's all wrong....or as they they say in London these days...yeah yeah yeah..no yeah?..Well now what London? these guys gave us something to think about...well there's plenty of time in the day ....whose joining me , whose rekindling those hopes, let's make something happen people ..am I really the only one choking on our dreams...open to suggestions but need help on the technical front
Saw these perform this on Friday night (25/11/16) in Plymouth Pavilions on the 25 year anniversary of Levelling the land tour with Dan Booth from Ferocious Dog joining joining Jon for the fiddle parts - AMAZING!!
Today (1st of September 2007) they did a really good show on "De Beschaving" festival near Utrecht in The Netherlands, together with Stephen Boakes... it was really awesome!!! I love these guys and their loyal fans... it's just amazing what kind of energy they give to their audience... Stephen Boakes was also brilliant!!! Hope to see some videos of it soon on youtube
Roll on 26th November!!! I've had my tickets for months already. If you're there in Leeds please be gentle with the grey haired old git near the front.
shit man saw em years ago at bedgbury pinetam open air gig quit small but some big power love this band chek out sacred turf a cornish band same ilk its all good
Truth and lies? I loved last man alive, but i agree it wasnt their best disc. Id like to see them bring out another disc of stripped down stuff like the first few albums, but i think the recognition of matt on keyboards as a fully fledged levller, probably means that heavy production is going to remain the future of the levs. (not that im saying he doesnt deserve it). I loved seeing this track as a fiddle-off on the tour with seth lakeman.:)
This is one of those rare bands who sound better live than on vinyl !!!
12 times I've seen them, never a dull concert any of them, just good times all the way. Love this band.
Surely one of their best songs ever ! And live it's a masterpiece !
Send this band twice or three times. They have never disappoint me with music talent
